it is and isnt. It can be that easy playing at a casino, but when playing against people who know what they are doing... it can get a bit more complicated.

Good information, but Ithe difference I see is when theres 8 people at the table they all have that 35% chance of hitting. So its likely someone gets the pair. When its down to 2 or 3 people its alot less likely

When and Why would he re-raise with pocket 9s?
well if the raiser if somebody who has been a little bit aggressive at least, you probably have the best hand and want more chips in there........also if something like an ace hits the flop, your opponent will be scared you have an ace (if he doesnt have one himself), because your raising pre-flop represents an ace a good amount of the time......you'll get folds a lot in that scenario and just take down the pot right then and there....also your hand is disguised if you hit a 9.....you should have a pretty balanced strategy of just calling, and choosing to re-reraise, with hands like 9's, 10s, jacks............ queens, kings, aces, ace king.......you should do more re-raising, with the occasional just call.
This would have been good in 2003 Phil Gordon is way behind actual profitable pros from this decade.

Even though you're in the late , sometimes you could still be very dangerous too. You have to be very caution.

Apart from the 80 hr work week, mars, tesla, first principles, please ask him some thing that is not already asked and which will be useful to others in terms of productivity, like what mental model did he uses to grasp the rocket science out of books and what process does he follow to ask the questions to other scientists, e.t.c.

There are plenty of hands that most players will continue with on the flop that are less than one pair. Also, is a straight draw a "whiff"? How about a flush draw?
Pot comittment after raising preflop and not hitting anything, pocket pairs, depth of stack all this must be taken in account and im probably missing half of the things. If you play against an agressive player he will raise you to the point where you lose all your chips on bluffing. Also if you are talking hats up (since this scenario he is talking about is with 2 players) than you have to take the nash equilibrium into account.
Host totally doesn't even understand Phil Gordon's mumbo jumbo. lol. Just keeps nodding and saying "Right, uh huh" like he gets it.
