Yet another very interesting video, and a glimpse of Ivan Dutton a motoring legend, his Shed Racing videos are great fun , and he is only a year older than me!!
Your encyclopedic knowledge continues to astound me! My favourite was that very smart pale green Frogeye. You asked about Allegro ownership experiences - I had three. Typical shoddy BL, but I couldn't afford anything better. Reliable enough, agricultural sounding engine/transmission, Hydrogas suspension constantly sagged longitudinally or laterally and needing re-pressurising. My first one was the early model with the square steering wheel and the best of the three.
4.42, that's a Chevy S 10 pick up, its rare to see with the stepside bed, it might be the extreme version, most later S10's were 4 door cabs with a fleetside bed .
I had a 1962 Studebaker cruiser when I was in college in the mid 80s. The cruiser was the fanciest Studebaker you could get at the time kind of the flagship it had a 289 which was the largest displacement v8 and I think it put about 225 horsepower out with the four barrel and dual exhausts that the cruiser had. It was the most luxurious Studebaker I ever had. Quiet on the road. But the lark styling was a little bit out there. That said, I've owned about 12 larks. Lol By the way, Studebaker was the first importer of Mercedes into the US. Interesting little fact.
@@richardsealey3626 true, and it's interesting that they had a little fight over the tri-star emblem in 1953. I owned an early 1953 commander starliner hardtop with Tri star emblems.
01:49:34 - Whilst you were (quite rightly) drooling over the Alvis woody there was in the background what appears to be a Range Rover pickup. Not many of those about.
We had a Carrera 2, (Fuhrmann Four-Cam) 356C coupe, from new in 1964. Togo Brown with black leather, and a steel sunroof. My father always took it back to the factory for servicing. I still have it, but is has not been on the road for a long time.............
That bootlid badge on the Rolls Royce is a "Silver Shadow II" that has had its end cut off to remove the second "I". You can see the bevel stops short...!!!
We had a metallic purple 1957 Chrysler Saratoga, with the huge fins, and The Chrysler at about 5:30 reminded me of a funny old memory. I was at a babysitters house in about 1967, I was about 6. When my mom came to pick me up, one of the other kids ran out and screamed Kelly, your mom's here and she's driving the BATMOBILE.
The 57 Chrysler New Yorker is mine, you can see a video of it on my channel. The car was one family owned from 1957 to 1990 then one UK owner from 1990 til a few months the ago when I took it in px against a 1961 Chrysler Newport Conv.
Great Scramble as normal, couldn't make this one, hope I will make the April Scramble. Thanks for sharing this very long video, you covered a lot of ground and stuff. Cheers Bob
What a great video and fabulous show!! I love interwar English cars, so cool, nice to see the TR5!! I will say it's always interesting to see American cars in the UK, I grew up with them and it's fun to see you discover them. We had that same Studabaker when I was a kid, 1963, built like a tank!!
Good afternoon Richard. Far too many to pick a favourite but there were some very expensive cars . Definitely a show for the connisieur . But that Bentley saloon at 20 minute was superb . And l did like the modern wheels on that Shadow 1 . That DB4 had to be a very late car as it had the DB5 rear lamps. I'm sure l've told you before that Rover bought a Citroen DS , took it back to the factory and stripped it back to it's bare bones . Thanks Richard.
Interesting video as usual. Cars we would never see here. You would have to dress warmly to drive the T Ford speedster . Tourings and roadsters were drafty even with side curtains installed. I believe thety did make some left hand drive Ts at Trafford Park early on until they designed the left hand generator bracket . The generator being on the right hand side got in the way of the steering column. Trafford Park changed that fairly quickly. It then became belt driven instead of gear driven off the cam gear.
There must be a defect in my motoring DNA, the only Porsches I like are the 944 and the 928, but the 911 etc do absolutely nothing for me. I wonder if the black Corniche spotted in the background belongs to Gary Mavers from Classic Obsession. Good upload although I watched in 3 sections. The SEC are lovely cars. Word of the day must have been "Groovy" 😊
Early 911s I quite like but late ones do nothing for me either, thanks for giving it a watch, I should have warned you that you'd need several pots of tea and multiple slices of toast lined up and ready

What a great video of a top collection of cars
Thank you 😮😮😊

Agreed Mr D is an interesting gent
That white Alfa Giulia is beautiful. Thanks for the video.
Your knowledge of cars is great and I 👏👏👏 you
Thank you very much 👍
My favourite car is the BMW CSL, love the colour scheme and chrome
Agreed a properly svelte motor-car
Wonder if there will be a Flywheel Festival this year 🤔 Always a great event.
Hope so!
Absolutely, be great if turned in to weekend event with camping
2 23 that's a Ford Maverick coupe, they also did a 4 door, that name is now used on their recent small hybrid pick up.
I think the white car on French plates is an Amilcar. Great video as always.
Thanks, that's my thinking too
Great video. I absolutely loved the Prancing Moose sticker 😂.

My only real memory of Allegros is the appalling nylon covered seating in an estate version belonging to a mate's mum in the late 1970s

Very few people realise the connection between Studebaker and Mercedes-Benz............

Dear My Best Friend in world for all time

I try and get in as many as I can but inevitably something won't be included, thanks for watching
I agree with your thoughts on the Porsche 911. My favourite is the 356 for the same reasons.

That'd make sense :)

Ha great, coincidentally yesterday I began watching the original 1966 Batman film
That was "shed racings" salmson
Indeed, I spotted it's owner walking around later in the vid

Cool, thanks for the extra info
Great vid as ever - impressed by your knowledge of reg no's even the Irish nos!
Glad you enjoyed it

Fun fact: Alpine A110 were also assembled, in very limited numbers,in Mexico.
Interesting!
They wee assembled by a heavy truck builder named DYNA and the cars were called Dynalpin.@@oldclassiccarUK
What engine did a Jensen interceptor have ? Was it a Chrysler hemi ?
Chrysler V8 yes, not sure if hemi

Fantastic gathering - thanks for sharing. Still think your fleet could benefit from a 1970s saloon for these further flung shows 😃
Ha I guess so, we'll see!
That Bentley! John Steed would have loved that, for taking Mrs Peel for a winter drive..
prewar 1930s saloons such as Bentley or Buick would be nice to view
A couple of great 110+yr old cars turned up at a meet the other day, needless to say I grabbed some footage
I noticed a carved wooden mouse on the dash of the 1932 Alvis GY 5928 at 44 minutes, an homage to Robert Mouseman?

That's an interesting snippet of info, thanks for watching
so many beautiful cars my favourite would be the blue Mercedes Pagoda followed by the tin lizzie special, then the Humber
KY743 is a Riley 12-4 special. Built this century.
Admire your knowledge
Thanks for watching the vid!
WOW what a collection thank you for a great day out safe home did you have a cuppa ?.
Thanks, I did indeed!

Weren't the Allegros known as "all aggros".
And quite possibly other uncomplimentary names too, although I think they were probably better overall than some of the other BL offerings at the time
You have obviously never owned one.................@@oldclassiccarUK
After watching this I've certainly had my fill of Porches for a while.
😁👍
54:26 Noticed you didnt say much about the BMW, so i'll say it for you, hideous.
I think words probably failed me at that moment :)
