Me and my wife met Mikey and New Jack after ECW's Wrestlepalooza 2000 in St. Charles Missouri. Both were hanging out talking to a few of us that stuck around. Both were incredibly nice. Fantastic memory. I'd love to see Mikey as a regular on this podcast! PLEASE!!! haha!
Why didn't you watch his matches? Yeah, do yourself a favor and go back and watch those! He is actually a really good wrestler and took some of the most ruthless bumps in the business.
The Heenan handshake that Mikey is talking about appears to take place on the July 26 1999 episode of Nitro and occurs during his entrance almost exactly one hour into the show.
Never watched this show before but I’m happy that I found it! You do an amazing job & the time flies by. Also it’s very cool that you interviewed my favorite ECW wrestle of all time! 💪🏼
Mikey’s tag team with Tajiri and James Mitchell as their manager was one of the things I enjoyed the most in the later years of ECW. A great tag team that no one talks about.
Another surprisingly great interview from a guy I wasn't a huge fan of. That said, Mikey was really underrated as a wrestler. I know everyone remembers the big underdog days from early on but he had some really nice triple threats with guys like Super Crazy and Tajiri. He hit one of the coolest moves I ever saw ... a spinning Canadian backbreaker into a sit-out powerbomb. BOOTIFUL
I always judge how good a WSI interview is by how long the 'smelliest wrestler'//biggest ladies' man' etc. game can go. With some guys, it's one answer after the other of 'Gee, I don't know, I'll have to come back to you on that one'. Mikey on the other hand was the sixty minute man.
Mikey Whipwreck ECW Triple Crown Champion member of the Unholy Alliance I’ve been blessed to see all from 1980-Now I’m from NY and went to all ECW Supercards/PPVs with the exception of Terry Funks Wrestlefest 1998 in TX and Heat Wave 2000 in CA so many amazing memories
I’m looking forward to this interview in its entirety. Mikey was always one of the nicer guys in wrestling ( at least to me) he had an entertaining career and gave it his all. I hope to see him involved in more interviews in the future.
i think Wrestlers MIGHT be the most entertertaining indiviuals on the whole of anyone. They truly are entertaining. In person and on stage. I cant say that about many actors or musicians. But wrestlers SEEM to be on the whole, just entertaining interesting people. Theres loads of actors and musicians that arent as interesting as these people.
I was at that nitro and remember their match, mikey and regal,a fan got in the ring while regal and sheepdi*k were on the mat, regal hooked the guys head and security beat the crap out of the man. I cant find it but a lot of the rest is on there.ICP were there, hogan and sting vs sid and nash, savage beat up evan half to death.you tube i meant. i became a mikey fan for sure.
WSI Shoot interview 100 will.....not be a shoot interview it will be james and Dutch commentating on the first ever "Vegan Mania" match don't quote me on that..
@WSI James, do you want to try to get Karlee Leilani (NXT's Maxine) In a recent interview i saw of hers. She said she's one of few girls that is NOT under and NDA. 👀
Weekly or bi weekly show with Mikey please James. He's so funny and likeable.
Not with these low views.
@@L.m.CeeTeeit got more views than your channel

I never really watched Mikey's matches, except for highlights. But what a great interview! He's so down to earth, and a likeable guy.
Anything he did with Foley, Tajiri, or the Sinister Minister is a must watch

I've been waiting for the long format of this. Ever since you posted the clips. Well worth the wait. Love your stuff James.
love Mikey, wish he'd do an occasional thing with James, doesn't have to be every week, once every other month or something
Great interview. Part 2 please.
The Heenan handshake that Mikey is talking about appears to take place on the July 26 1999 episode of Nitro and occurs during his entrance almost exactly one hour into the show.
Great catch!
Absolutely amazing interview. WSI interviews just keep getting better and better.

Mikey seems like a super cool guy. GREAT interview.
This intro reminds me of how the Frm podcasts would start.
That was a good interview. Mikey is personable, funny and has a good storytelling ability.
Mikey is a fantastic storyteller! Loved this interview and can't wait for part two
Mikey needs a show James 🔥
Been waiting to watch this
Next time you have Mikey Whipwreck on ask him how often was the ECW canvas was replaced.
I grew up right outside of Buffalo in Dunkirk NY.....MIKEY IS A LEGEND!

Idk about y'all but WWE needs to make some ECW Mikey Whipwreck figures from the Mattel line. Since ECW kinda made a resurgence
Get him an elite stat

He's a really good interview. I do hope he comes back for more episodes!
At least a part 2, if not a podcast, in the future
Great to See Mikey looking good and doing well! Always one of my favorites from ECW 👍🏼
Good to see he is doing 100 times better than he seemed to be a few years back with seemingly ring related , trying to get by health issues .
I give him his props, even my wrestling name was a tribute to him
James I wish you would add these to Apple Podcasts so I can listen anywhere
Mikey is the best ,one the only ECW originals that i never remember having a t-shirt

We need part 2
Mikey Rules!!!
GHOST!!!!!
Mikey's great haha, good show
This is one of the best wrestling interviews ever. Holy shit Mikey is pretty funny. Gotta bring him back for sure now.

Mikey, Tajiri, and the Sinister Minister🤟
Very good talk
Augusta is a 2 hr drive east of Atlanta
Stratomatic is legendary. I had baseball and football
Disco inferno did the stunner as well on Nitro.
Mikey's voice sounds like Eric bisoff 😂
Seems like a cool guy
Sea Haven Forever!
James....can you do one interview whete you don't forget your glasses? Lol. Seems like it happens all the time
My old drinking buddy played stratomatic baseball every day in the 80s
I am really enjoying this James and Mikey! Fucking awesome!!James I think it would be epic to have Mikey back

Mikey's great, absolute legend.
Love the Ghost shirt, Mikey!
One of the best interviews yet

Thought Dawn Marie, Sunny or Terri Runnels would have hit on the Smelliest wrestler but technically they were managers
Where the hell are you getting this from?
..why would the women hit on the “smelliest wrestler”?
Makes no sense.
WSI Shoot interview 100 will.....not be a shoot interview
it will be james and Dutch commentating on the first ever "Vegan Mania" match
don't quote me on that..
I used to feel bad for poor Mickey getting his ass kicked!! Then, OHH! NOO!! He won the ECW belt!!! There gonna kill him!!!! Lol!!!!!
Did he ask about the Vince allegations lol
NFT's is trash
Nah, you just don't understand them.
Yeah we all know that
this is what happens when you have amateurs doing a professionals position
Lame comment
Going Bald must Suck.
Depends. Worked out well for Steve Austin and The Rock. Didn’t seem to hurt Hogan either.
Another repeated use of the F word.
James your quality is failing terribly.
@WSI James, do you want to try to get Karlee Leilani (NXT's Maxine) In a recent interview i saw of hers. She said she's one of few girls that is NOT under and NDA. 👀
That’s actually a great idea. I’d love to hear what she knows.
