Sermon - Jesus and The Powers - 7.14.2024

This Sunday we follow Pastor Steve through the Gospel account of Mark and his words regarding the execution of John the Baptist - a story that displays the follies and wickedness of human beings in their schemes of power and self interest, and the dangers that come with preaching the word of God to those who hate it. As John was put to death for speaking truth to power, so too, would Jesus....but in his death we are freed from the rot and perils of all things, all kings, all nations, and all powers seen and unseen. In Him we have victory.
