I was lucky enough to be at this race. I live 5 min from Flemington racecourse. And we had won tickets to Race (and yes a 5 min chauffeur drive... is how much can you drink. My wife and I were on the Grandstand directly opposite the finish line. I actually bet on Vinny... didn't think diva could win three in a row. And if you know Flemington.. its a large racecourse... even in the straight you cant see from the finish line. But on that day. The huge roar from the crowd when she made her move... you knew. The greatest sporting moment for me ever.
Her and winx....2 times in history that girls were the greatest...
Most corageous race horse i have ever seen
Maybe diva was a beautiful horse made me so proud 2 watch her got all of her races on c d
She by winning that 3rd melb cup provided me with my greatest ever sporting moment. Thanks to everyone involved with her
She is a legend!
What champion 🏆
I’ve been to 24 Cups, including this historic hat trick of this legendary mare. One of my favourite memories of this was that wonderful post-race interview quote by Lee Freedman that began with “go and find the smallest child here…”. Hoping I’ll still be round in 30 years+, I’d love for him to be proven right.
Makybe diva and zenyatta greatest horses in books history of all time
Big strong heart
One of the best to ever step out on the turf
I love it so much it’ is makybe
spine tingling stuff
4th and fifth? High possibility.
Wat a horse!!!
Not bad, but here in UK we have a few good horses........ you only need to mention Red Rum and they'll know exactly who or what you're talking about, even though it all happened in the mid 70's. The Grand National, over 4 miles long, 30 of the biggest and scariest fences you'll ever see, nearly 40 other horses in each race....... won it three times, second another twice.......... and as a tribute, he is buried at the winning post on the racetrack
This is the horse Americans don't talk about. This girl was off the meters
💓🌟💋
Just before her first cup she was running at MV she dint win but I like her run that day and said to my late brother that she will win the cup. I dint even know if she was running. Lost of people make good money that Day because I did tell every one she win
^didn't
That was the difference between Makybe Diva and other Champions like Winx and Black Caviar, they were Champions but they were never heroes....and that is what is missing in racing today......and it is the same with Pacing and square gaiters, WFA and set weight racing, mobile starts etc will never create Heroes......most people go to the races for the party, not the races, by mid afternoon they're all drunk, Champions do not get the public emotional, Only heroes do that and Heroes have to do things that are considered impossible, like weight setting records
Go read about Caduceus winning the 1960 Inter Dominion at Harold Park off 36 yards behind before a crowd in excess of 50,000 people, none of today's champions elicit that kind of emotion.....and that is not detracting from their ability
The Diva was extra special, she broke Light Fingers Weight carrying record in her second Cup win, then broke her own weight carrying record in her 3rd win, she never dodged a hard fight, Winx and Black Caviar were unbelievable Champions but were always treated like Koala bears, they ran in races that they knew they would win
I am makybe Diva
The Worlds No.1 staying horse.
