Hey Steve I left some encouragement in your reclusive vid. Hope you can read it. Why do you want to be like everyone else? There is only one you. Stop denying yourself. You can be alone in a crowd. You have reached a point of healing from your childhood by the sound of things. Now you are voicing things I think you are crossing the bridge to better things. Youre never alone believe it or not. Lonliness is a state of mind. Thats not to say it doesnt feel isolating when we dont interact with people because I like to do this although I dont always get the chance to, as I struggle to go out sometimes if I feel a bit fragile but I dont beat myself up about it which makes things easier for myself. Psychologist Professor Tony Attwood said in a documentary, "You don't suffer from Aspergers you suffer from other people" I've been lonely for 11 years now. The last group of close friends i had screwed me over with back stabbing, humiliation, and lots of broken promises. i'm now too scared to make new friends. i have many distant friends from groups and clubs, but no one to have a coffee with or go to the movies with. I may need counselling for this. The best advice i can give you is to keep trying, Don't be afraid to give someone a call and hope for a mutual friendship.
I understand. It's hard to ignore some of the stuff I've been through as well. I too have many distant friends but not many beyond that. But I will keep trying to reach out more. So far, I'd say that's been rewarded.

I dealt with narcissistic abuse my whole life living under my parent's roof. It can have a negative impact.
