Mr. Carlin showed me that trick back in 86. He was my high school wood shop teacher and we used that method mostly to get dents out of the drafting boards.

A dent can be steamed out--a cut have to be filled & sanded

Good job man it's very hard to see the spot after steam pressing process

Thanks. I'm happy the way it came out it's still there but it's extremely hard to see and it's not noticeable. sometimes it will completely remove the dent.

Sweet i am looking forward to watching. You are going to have to remind me of our last conversation. I have been distracted with cleaning and loading stuff from my parents old place.

@snappers_antique_firearms we talked about building one as part of the WWAD project. A brass outer layer with a steel core. At which you said something to the effect of got me thinking of going to the lathe. However over the past couple of weeks I discovered that a core isn't necessary. This one is hollow core

@@StevenMMan thats great to hear i remember now. having a hollow ramrod is a great thing for saving weight. I am looking forward to seeing it. Yeah youtube is junk these days. Your channel is extremely hard to find. When you get over 1000 subs it gets a little better but its still very hard to find. But getting that first 1000 subs is the hardest to get especially being a gun Channel. 10 years ago youtube would promote all channels equally. But that doesn't happen anymore. When you release a new video at first only around 25% of your subs will see a notification. Depending how many of the 25% watch it will either grow or they stop promoting it. The best way right now to get subs is shorts. TH-cam is pushing shorts far more than long-format video. But myself and garrett have noticed a lot of shorts subscribers don't watch long-format videos though. So best is to make a long format video and make a short as a preview to the long format video.

Works well on dents, but will not work on gouges or if the wood fibers are split.

But what if its a dent caused buy someone dropping the gun after getting shot while robbing a stagecoach.

Do you press down hard with the iron like your searing it or do you just hold it onto the rag with light pressure?
