It is rather frustrating that radagon of all people doesn't have a single line of dialogue or quote in the entire game. Even as we go in his boss arena, he just stares, attacks, and dies silently.

Ahh thanks man, I'm very happy it was appreciated 😊
I really am confident in this way of thinking, but as there's so much in the game, I'm sure there are still many areas of the lore that I haven't taken into consideration... so some of ideas in the Usurping Theory really could still be misguided...
And that's why I've made these videos! Talking with you guys has opened my eyes to so much of the lore that I've missed, and I think it really will be a team effort from the community to make this Theory more complete!

I LOVE the Miquella chunk. An option for the statue, it could be depicting Miquella as a child being protected/comforted by Malenia, who is then being protected/comforted by adult-reborn-post-cocoon Miquella. As the point of his research was to find a way to break their curses. So it could be depicting Miquella's honoring of Malenia with "you protected me, so now I can transform and cure you"
That's plus the ring of the unborn already being separated and the sacred relic sword being made out of only Radagon's body and not Marika's really made these two videos spark my excitement

The banners at Castle Sol, they are of the Rune of the Death Prince.
And IDK if you're a Berserk fan, but the Eclipse Shotel contains a reference to the Eclipse in Berserk. It says "In Sol, the sight of an eclipse inspires a dreadful awe, preventing an onlooker from averting his gaze."
If youre a Berserk fan you might spot it. In Berserk the Protagonist guts is held down and his eyes are forced open. He is forced to watch as the Antagonist Femto rapes his girlfriend.
So, Godwyn did "something" to some Solar demigod at Castle Sol. Resulting in the Eclipse.
Or perhaps Godwyn was the Solar demigod himself (more likely, if Castle Sol was Godwyn castle as it appears to be, itnhas his Banners after all) in which case he must have done it to a Lunar demigod. Either Rennala or Ranni. Which would provide Ranni with a strong motivation for her role in the night of Black Knives.
Either way it was something Dreadful and Aweful according to the Eclipse Shotel. And Miquella helped. Which makes sense considering Miquella is demigod of persuasion and sleep, he is basically the god of date rape. He can make anyone do whatever he wants and if he can't, he can put you to sleep.

@@darkhobo idk, seems a bit of a stretch imo

    • @Luaeria
      @Luaeria 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@@darkhobo Not saying that it’s not possible. I’m just saying even with the parallels between Elden ring and berserk I think it is a bit of a stretch to assume someone raped someone else.
Especially because it’s clear that something about the eclipse is meant to serve more like All Hallows’ Eve. A time when the soulless bones can be reunited with their souls again. Which is interesting to think about.
That those that live in death are decrepit and decaying but, their souls are still intact. The same cannot be said for the soulless, soul slain Godwyn.
I think it is possible that if Godwyn did do something so horrific to Ranni that she would want to return the favour by killing his soul and leaving his body, but I think it’s more likely that Ranni may have been cooperating with a volunteering Godwyn.
The reason I speculate that he may have been a coconspirator in his own demise is because Godwyn was so incredibly powerful at the time of his murder.
He was the singular being able to stop the ancient dragons from destroying Leyndell. Able to defeat Fortissax in combat and mercifully spare them, gaining them as a fastidious & steadfast companion.
My point is for him to be this powerful and to be simply man handled by a handful of Numan assassins, only one of whom was killed that night and it was whilst she fled the scene, not by Godwin’s hand, it just seems so implausible.
Additionally all the images of him being slain by the black knife assassins show him being held by just two assailants, stabbed/carved by a third whilst the rest of them look on, not interfering.
He’s a bleeding demigod. It just doesn’t seem likely that they caught him unawares whilst he was sleeping and he was just so sleepy that he was easier to handle by just two of them.
It seems far more likely to me that he was participating in a complicated & sinister black rite capable of claiming a soul and a body at one time without it necessarily being the soul that is coupled with the body and vice versa.
To coordinate this act whilst also coordinating an attack on a plethora of demigods throughout the land so that there were “too many and too far for Marika to respond” doesn’t seem possible without some inside help.
And as it turns out, Miquella doesn’t seem to have any hard feelings toward Ranni. In fact, it seems as though they may even have known each other or possibly even been close.
If the location of Miquella lilies and st Trina lilies is at all narratively relevant, this plus them both knowing about torrent/torrents former master in addition to Loretta knowing them both and serving them both suggests a possible relationship, link or even cooperation.
Additionally it makes sense that their goals would align, because Ranni’s fate is tied to the stars and the celestial bodies held in stasis by Radahn. And it is Radahn arresting the celestial bodies that may also be responsible for causing the eclipse to fail.
Think about it. If Ranni’s fate is tied to the moon and Radahn is holding back the stars and thereby Ranni’s fate than it makes sense that he’s also holding back the moon.
If the moon is being held static then how can there possibly be an eclipse ritual successfully performed? There simply can’t be.
I think there reason why Melania faced off with Radahn was in an effort to relinquish Radahn’s death grip on Ranni’s fate AND Miquella’s Eclipse ritual.
I think that Godwyn cooperated and gave himself as sacrifice to his half sister’s dark rites & ritual because they fully intended on restoring his soul to his body utilising the eclipse ritual, but Radahn had other plans and the outcome of that was not only the incidental spread of death root throughout the lands between via the root system of the Erdtree (which may have also been intentional btw) but also the spread of scarlet rot throughout caelid, which I do not believe was intentional, but who knows. Maybe Malenia didn’t think she could win and so nuked Caelid intentionally. But I think she was weakened and lost control. I also think it’s important to make the distinction between Demigods and Empyreans and remind everyone that Empyreans are capable of becoming actual gods, whilst it seems as though demigods are not. So surely, it is quite extraordinary that an empyrean would fall to a mere demigod, unless if by design.
      But anyway… 🤷🏼‍♀️

@@Luaeria no Berserk reference has ever been a stretch in a Fromsoft game. The games are built on a foundation of Berserk refrences!
It perfectly describes Guts and Femto at the eclipse. Cant look away. Dreadful and awful sight. The Eclipse its self.

What if the chairs in the Erdtree Counsil were from a time where Ranni and Radhan were smaller in size and Rykard haven't declared himself an enemy of the Golden Order?
Like right after the Marriage of Radagon and Marika.
Isn't Godrick just a descendant from the golden lineage of Godfrey? That explains why he does a similar earthquake move like Godfrey stomps and his throne room has a statue of Godfrey behind the throne. Could things be as simple as that sometimes or everything must be so convoluted?
I totally agree with Melina being another child of Radagon and Marika. And to complement off what you said I also think FromSoft has pulled a Nameless King on us by erasing her from the annals of History for she committed the cardinal sin of burning the Erdtree before (thus leaving her burned and bodiless). That could explain why no other NPC in the game acknowledges her existence (kinda making we the Tarnished looking like schizophrenics), and also why there's no item description or imagery of her anywhere in the Lands Between (it all has been purposefully destroyed) aside from one item that is her own weapon which is, by the way, inside a room like cell implying she suffered some kind of imprisonment.

    • @JarHed69
      @JarHed69  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

Wow, I've not really thought about how we are the only ones who interacted with Melina! You're right, it would make us seem crazy if we are truly the ONLY people who can see her... And I've ALSO been thinking that Melina has something to do with the previous cataclysm of the Erdtree and Leyndell! As Vaati Video mentioned in his latest video, her small grave might even be found next to the Minor Erdtree Church!
I'll share an idea that I'd love the chance to develop into a full video one day, but I think Melina being "burned and bodiless" might tell us that she's gone through the same process as Raani did? Somehow using the Rune of Death???
Where Raani died in body, Melina would also have died in body. And where Godwyn died in spirit, maybe the red spear through the Marika we see in the Erdtree means whoever that is died in spirit also??? And they are merely a puppet of the Elden Beast that's flowing inside them? I'm not sure how this would work with the Usurping Theory, and might even go a bit against it... so I want to put a lot of effort in thinking of the theory if I ever make more videos
The seating arrangement at the Council is also a very tricky part for this theory... As it's only in Morgott's cutscene, there's not a lot of things we can use to try and work out how it works!
I am quite confident in the idea that it was created for the First Defence of Leyndell, as it would tie those areas of the lore together very nicely.
Godrick IS a descendent of Godfrey and Godwyn. The original Japanese for Lhutel the Headless' Sprit Ashes does firmly imply that a demigod WAS resurrected after the night of Black Knives. This is pure speculation, but maybe one of Godrick's ancestors were the one who was resurrected? This could explain why his lineage is so weak, but again, there's nothing to back this ide up. This idea is a bit of a stretch, but what do you think? Is this overcomplicating things?

@@JarHed69The first defense of leyndell was some of the demigods themselves attacking and morgott pushing them back we know that the armies each demigod had were geographically separated so while they formed a council they likely had very little pull and could not push for themselves to become the sole power in the lands between so those with power bases and armies left and sought to conqueror the capital city of the lands between to consolidate power yet because morgott was essentially unestablished it left him as the sole power in leyndell the king so he was forced to fend off the other demigods from claiming the erd tree

  • @EmmettFlo7
    @EmmettFlo7 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Okay, a few thoughts.
    1) Ranni’s seat on the sovereign council could be explained by the fact that she hid the fact that her body had been killed for a time. Does the lore imply anywhere that she was believed to have been killed on the night of black knives with the other demigods?
    2) Miquella and Melania being birthed after Marika’s imprisonment could explain why there is no lore regarding their relationship to Marika. It would also explain why they were born at all- Radagon needed a new god to replace Marika.
    3) I like to think the shattering war broke out as a result of the demigods discovering that Radagon’s reign was illegitimate, creating a succession crises. This would explain why the demigods initially were unified (except for Ranni and Rykard who we know were plotting against the Golden Order in secret since before Godwyn’s murder) but eventually all turned against each other.
    4) Remember that Radagon was also physically shattered by Marika’s actions. This would force him to abandon Rennala and rule as Elden Lord in Marika’s name only from the confines of the Erdtree. This would explain the significance of the “Queen Marika” is nowhere to be found line in the intro. From the start of Radagon’s reign, Marika is conspicuously absent. As time goes on, more and more subjects demand to know where Marika is and begin to doubt Radagon’s explanations/excuses. This would perfectly explain why Radagon’s reign was initially a success but inevitably descended into ruin. Queen Marika is nowhere to be found!

  • @Jinxyoutoheaven
    @Jinxyoutoheaven 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Honestly your theory made a lot sense when you went over the gods being fickle like humans….even Rennala was seen as a champion (I know not a god). After Radagon left her people realized she wasn’t as strong as they imagined. she was just like them. Aizen said it best…people look to those of higher power for strength and those at that status in turn look for those higher than themselves…that’s how a god is born.
God and Demi-gods are just titles that can be given. It’s what I slowly learned about Elden ring.
Ranni started this because of her status. Her life was not even hers. The moment Radagon became marikas consort Ranni life was in the hands of the two fingers.
I don’t approve of what Ranni did….it seems very drastic of a thing to do. In turn marika did another drastic thing and shattered the Elden ring. Fingers upset that their puppet would do something like that and sent another puppet who in turn didn’t want to relinquish his status when he failed his mission. This starts to make more sense when I start seeing their Godhood as titles and when I take away those titles and view them as humans…they are not any better or know better. Greed, power, and control.
I used to call rahdhan chadhan, but then I learn he fear change more than anything else…sure I thought it was cool he was holding back the stars while in that mindless state infected with rot. But then I learn the stars dictate your destiny… and for me personally…makes him kind of a ick lol. Like he was holding back everyone’s destiny.
Elden ring lore just so fascinating. I’m playing Sekiro and I’m finally close to beating the game. And I just love the way fromsoftware way of story telling is basically “show, don’t tell” which I love the most.

    1. You've conflated Deathroot and Destined Death, but they are distinct. Destined Death is the rune of death that when seated within the Elden Ring allowed people to live and die naturally, while Deathroot is a malignant growth that causes *undeath*. This leads us to contend with Deathroot's presence in Farum Azula. FA has not been connected to the Lands since long before the Night of the Black Knives, but Maliketh has the rune of death there. So you'd be forgiven for assuming one causes the other, but the presence of Godskin Apostles indicates that the Gloam Eyed Queen was also involved somehow. Perhaps she defeated Placidusax's unnamed god long ago. There was likely to be an intrinsic conflict between a god that enabled its lord to exist beyond time and someone who wields death to kill gods. The Beast Eye is likely the GEQ's since Maliketh defeated her, and it reacts to Deathroot specifically.
    2. Golden Order Fundamentalism is "scholarship in all but name" that is about seeking outside answers to correct a faith that is accepted to be flawed. This is in contrast with real life religious fundamentalism. Radagon is in some way tied to the misbegotten through the Golden Order Greatsword and internal enemy names. He also learned about other places' sorceries and incantations which is "blasphemy" according to Corhyn. Miquella was raised fundamentalist and turned out to be accepting of the misbegotten and albinaurics. He left GOF for the practice of unalloyed gold, but of course that's only because it was more effective at helping his sister. Corhyn represents this same misunderstanding of fundamentalism, so I believe it's an intentional misdirect & irony.

Your thoughts around Goldmask are interesting, but illogical. He does not remove anything from the Elden Ring: he adds a mending rune. If he were going to be removing something and causing the Erdtree to weaken, shouldn't his ending be taking something away?

I am intrigued by the usurping notion. Your videos are well edited and easy to follow along! Thanks for taking the time to throw your videos together.
A few points I wanted to bounce off you to get your thoughts:
We know from the dialogue at the beginning of the game that the unarguable order of events is:
NOTBK > Shattering of the Elden Ring > Demigods claim the Great Runes > Tainted by their newfound strength triggered the Shattering(war)
The council you visit when we initially challenge Morgott, you mentioned the sword monument speaking about "A sovereign Alliance rots from within" I think we are supposed to view this sovereign Alliance as something formed AFTER the Shattering, since it's paired with the monument to the First Defense of Leyndell. The first defense of Leyndell is part of the Shattering War, and the breakdown of this alliance is why Morgott calls all of us traitors. This is why I take issue with Ranni being on this council. It's clearly marked as a post Shattering of the Elden Ring concept, yet Ranni has a seat, bodiless? Going with this timeline doesn't answer the question as to why Ranni has a seat bodiless and nobody asks why, but I don't think there's much to challenge the order of these events beyond what the game tells us.
Rykard wasn't consumed by the snake till later in the Shattering War. The Gelmir knights did fight off Leyndell's offense during the Shattering before all abandoned Rykard after he fed himself to the snake. Radahn vs Malenia represents the last big battle of the Shattering - long after this Sovereign Alliance has been abandoned. Them having seats on this council doesn't paint a contradiction in my eyes because their corruption happens way further down the line.
The Tarnished is required to collect 2 Great Runes in order for the two fingers to allow you entry into Leyndell. Whether or not you believe you NEED 3 great Runes or not to repair the Elden Ring is a moot point because if you place the birth of the twin prodigies after the Shattering, how do you rationalize the two of them receiving Great Runes? Did Radagon stash two Great Runes while he was trying to repair the Elden Ring to give them to his children when they got older? From our limited knowledge that would mean Radagon would only need 1 more to fully repair the Elden Ring and restore Order, and yet he still chooses to give them away? Not a single demigod was ever able to get the upper hand on one another, and here sits Radagon with two great runes and he doesn't make any sort of effort to avoid all this conflict and fully repair the ring?!
If Radagon wasn't holding onto them in the intermediate, then where were they in the meantime while they were babies? Forget Epitaphs and Haligtree statues, this is the bigger plot hole for the twin prodigies being born post Shattering.
I'd love to know your thoughts on the Great Rune contradiction since you've clearly spent a lot of time unpacking this theory. Keep making content!

    • @JarHed69
      @JarHed69  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thanks for your kind words friend! I'm really glad you've enjoyed the videos!
And I absolutly agree that this is an absolutly vital area of the theory, and one I've not spent much time explaining so far!
To start, I'm personally a bit iffy on using the intro cinematic as a verbatim Timeline, but I think you're spot on with your run-down of events!
And yeah, the idea of Ranni having a chair while being in her doll form is still a weird one... But the fact that her chair is so SMALL really makes me think she was in her new body during this council!
So I guess it depends on how you think the other demigods would react to her presence as a doll. Do you think they wouldn't be okay with it for some reason? Would they know about her involvement in the NoBK? Would they have protested if they did? Or would they not have known at all?
On the twins having their Great Runes, I've been doing a lot of research, and I've been finding the speculations on HOW the demigods got their Great Runes VERY interesting!
I've seen people speculate that they may have been born with them, but that wouldn't make sense for Rennala's children (unless Radagon really is Marika...) And as Godrick's Rune is said to have been "found in the centre of the Elden Ring", it seems to me that this Great Rune has been handed down through the Golden Lineage?
In any case, I'm not sure simply owning enough Great Runes would have restored the Golden Order, as the other warring demigods would still be around to cause problems and vie for control. I'm not sure ANY of the Demigods would be happy being ruled by ANY of the others: Rykard has given himself to Blasphemy, Godrick is considered weak, no none knows Mogh exists, Radan is strongest, but Malenia only wants Miquella on the Throne!
That leaves Morgott, who himself is locked out of the Erdtree by Radagon's thorns.
So I think the elimination of the other people vying for the throne would be an important factor for restoring order, but the tragedy of the Shattering War is that no one was left strong or capable enough to take the throne... Especially as they are all dangerous to the order of Leyndell, as they couldn't claim victory in many battles! After all, we are told to gather the Great Runes explicitly to "restore the Golden Order", before we are even allowed to enter Leyndell!
In this case, maybe Radagon really did give the Great Runes to the twins so they could compete against the other demigods, with the hope of them squashing any rebellions within the Lands Between. OR, maybe his plan was for Miquella to become the new god for a new age, giving him a Great Rune, and one to Melina to protect him?
There is a theory that I've been working on, that all of the Shard bearers might have gone to their respective Divine Towers and slain their own Two Fingers to receive the benediction of their Great Runes... It's an out-there idea, but it would add another layer to how weak the Golden Order is, as only 2 other Two Fingers are found in the whole game!
I hope this makes sense, so let me know where these ideas stand with you, and if there's anything else I can clarify or add?❤

I started coming around to this idea while watching some other lore videos and started searching for anyone else thinking about him as a usurper. One thing that struck me was a Tarnished Archeologist video about older civilizations and the concept of "The Victor Writes History", and I wondered, could Radagon not also do this as the one currently in power? Once I started looking at it like that more it started to fall into place. He tricks Marika into a Marriage or usurps her throne by force and then he can start saying what he wants about her, her children, and whatever. Idk, I think there is something to it. Thanks for the content, such an interesting and deep puzzle.

I think the golden order stuff is really spot on, and the whole thing is making a timeline make a lot more sense. I think you answered your own question with the statue thing though, there couldnt be statues of him everywhere if marika was supposed to be the only god. It helps with motivations too, like the stasis the world is in is what radagon wants, its his idea of order. It makes me question if Marikas war on the fire giants was actually radagon's agenda. Its where the first church is at. And something supporting that would be Marikas worship replacing the worship of the Tree part of the Tree. The roots are gone from the elden ring and theres a funky triangle instead.
And with the eclipse shotel, the significance of its shape is definitely in relation to the broken great rune of death. So an eclipse would be like a full circle representing the repairing of the rune of death.

I have some theories for what and where the DLC might be based on, and I reeeeeeeally hope I can make it in time, before it comes out! It's just really tricky at the moment to work on more videos in-between work...
If you haven't seen @CrunchyVideos yet, I really recommend watching all of his content on Elden Ring! He began with a video on the Helphen, and among other theories, he has been building on his ideas on Death within Elden Ring - after watching all his stuff in a day, I've been hooked on the idea I had using the theories he's explored:
I'm thinking there might be a wholly separate SPIRIT world that was cut off from the rest of reality when Marika put a Basin Rune (the one described in the Rune Arc) and stopped all souls moving on from the Lands Between.
And My theory would be that Godwyn's soul dying might have punched a hole in the barrier between the two halves of the world, which is why it is spewing into our plane of existence!
There's also a potential connection between sleep and death, and maybe it is a form of bridge between the two worlds, and this might be how we end up in the separate Spirit world for the DLC!
But yeah, I'm really excited too, and I would love to explore all this sometime soon!!!
Do you have any ideas for what the DLC could be about?

I'd love for just some of this to be a little more elaborated. Based on the Shadow of the Erdtree image I too believe we're in for a time travel/parallel world DLC, but time will tell. I do however believe Destined Death and Sleep lore and mechanics has been omitted from the base game purposely to be rediscovered in the DLC 🙏🏻

My man this cannot be further from the crazy, was just chilling after work and wanted to watch something to go with my coffee and here you are on recommended. Great work.
My two cents on eclipse would be that maybe under the eclipse things are shown that in other way cannot be seen. Eclipse was given significant and even esoteric meaning and connotations even in real life so let's say that such is a case in Lands Between, land obviously steeped in magic. In such world eclipse could have properties to show maybe where are the souls of soulless demigods or those souls maybe even hidden within eclipse itself so eclipse happening presents opportune moment for magic rituals and things that otherwise would not be possible. Also in a land where most prominent thing is light of the Erdtree even by night (which by the way also makes certain enemies appear) eclipse could have much more potency. Of course this is all my opinion and is probably far of the mark but nonetheless thank you for boosting the flow of thinking juices, cannot wait to watch first part and future videos.

    • @JarHed69
      @JarHed69  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

So the Eclipse would be able to reveal the hidden, "spirit" world? That's a really great idea!
The eclipse is sort of half explored in the game, so there is a real chance that it could be involved in the dlc.
And if we enter the new dlc area through casting an eclipse to enter the spirit relm? That would be really cool! I've not heard this idea before, and I think it's very interesting, and honestly is very plausible - if the Eclipse is in the dlc!
And I'm really glad you enjoyed the video 😊 I'm at the mercy of the YT algorithm, so it's great that you got this reccended!

Broad strokes, I agree. With your story, and there are many many ways to tell the story, you run into a problem with Ranni's status if Radagon and Marika are separate corporeal beings. Said issue is that Ranni is an Empyrean, and that's as ironclad as something can be in Elden Ring. An Empyrean is the progeny of a single god, and Renalla plus Radagon cannot an Empyrean create if Radagon is not a god.

It DOES make a lot of sense through, right? The Warming Stone's description tells us that the Erdtree used to shine so brightly that it's warmth could heal, but that's clearly stopped.
I'm not sure yet WHY this stopped - was it Marika disappearing? Was it after the previous cataclysm in Leyndell? I've not been able to find anything definitive yet.
And you got any ideas what could have caused the Erdtree to be weaker now, or why there are glowing threads growing over an old tree?

  • @dirmusloner7963
    @dirmusloner7963 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

One more fact that usurping theory might be right is this :
Remember when we as players fought "sir" Gideon Ofnir?
He says that Marika want all of them to suffer for all eternity. I his remembrance also said that "sir" Gideon Ofnir was in fear when he finds MARIKA'S will. What if what "sir" Gideon Ofnir find and thought to be MARIKA'S will was actually Radagon's will?
When Radagon became elden lord the age of plenty violently stopps, Radagon as elden lord spread hate for the Tarnished also restricts entrance to the Fortified Manor (a.k.a first ever Roundtable hold where Godfrey's axe is still there) he seals the entrance to the Erdtree as an action to declare that there will be non other Elden lord after him. Also Radagon by the Japanese text that we see after we kill Morgott and Melina recreate the echoes of Marika states that Radagon is still not a god. That means that despite all the actions Radagon did he is not a god he is still nothing more than a tool for Greater Will to further torture Marika. One big question how Radagon was able to use MARIKA'S hammer? Miriel wonders "How can a mere champion can be called elden lord" and I wonder "How a mere tool that is not Numen kind, his red hair betrays that he is somehow related to the Fire Giants is using a hammer created and wielded by Numen?" a mere champion or more realistically a mere tool using MARIKA'S hammer is an irony. We know that when Radagon married marika studied sorceries, he ordered the images of Lucaria to wear the mask of confidence. He sealed the entrance to the Erdtree by thorns that taking shape as the seal blocks the entrance to Carian Library. Thorn magic is using blood also.

I think your theories depend on too much separation between Marika and Radagon. They physically occupy the same body, as demonstrated when Marika turns into Radagon and back in front of your eyes. While one can be dominant over the other at any one time, they don't physically separate and so they can't be in two places at once. Radagon cannot rule over the lands if he too is stuck inside the tree.

    • @JarHed69
      @JarHed69  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I now what you mean about how they almost seem to HAVE to share one body... If I do make any more content (which is very hard to find the time to do at the moment...), I first want to explore the different origin theories for Radagon to try and address this particular issue.
As I mentioned at the end of the video, I am very interested if the answer could be that Radagon is a Minic or Silver Tear that has absorbed/assimilated Marika? The cut content from Asimi's qurestline would reflect this idea almost perfectly, and it would also explain the Nox' desires for their own "Champion", and maybe Radagon was sent to Leyrnia from the Eternal Cities?
I feel this would explain how they morphed right in front of our eyes! Better than my original idea of him using "Marika's Mischief" at least?
I'm not sure, have you looked into this theory yourself at all? Do you think there's potential?

    • @AynenMakino
      @AynenMakino 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@JarHed69 The removed mimic questline does give credence to the theory that either Radagon is a mimic absorbed into Marika, or the other way around. It does neatly tie into the eternal city's ambitions of creating a lord.
But my theory is that Marika created Radagon by separating her mother's half from her father's. Her mother was an astrologer, but her father descended from the giants. She HATED this part of her liniage and by creating Radagon, she could separate herself from it. But Radagon had his own free will and fell in love with Ranala. Marika destroyed this relationship by re-absorbing Radagon, who took revenge by giving Ranala the egg that allowed Ranala to compete with Marika's monopoly on rebirth. But Ranala broke down from the loss anyway and this angered her daughter Rani so much that Rani set out for revenge, leading to her plot. When Rani succeeded, Marika broke completely and shattered the ring so she could remove death and protect the remainder of her liniage. The Elden beast punished her for this by destroying her womb, ensuring that she could produce no more heirs.

    • @Eladelia
      @Eladelia 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@JarHed69 I'd suggest that the story works better if you think of it as the Asimi questline originally having been written as foreshadowing of the relationship between Radagon and Marika. You don't note it here, but Asimi makes a couple of comments about wanting you to find a chalice for her so she can become whole. Radagon, on the other hand, sought to both study sorcery and study fundamentalist incantations in hopes of becoming whole. I doubt he was intended to be a standard-issue mimic tear however, because while Asimi wants to drink from chalices in the Eternal Cities, Marika would have been in a position to supply things like actual Erdtree dew, which would address the issue of other forms of artificial life in the lore being seen as impure because they were untouched by grace.
I think we shouldn't overlook the fact that Radagon's seeming ties to the fire giants are both an unusual thing and seemingly incompatible with originating from the Eternal Cities. It's possible that what Marika wanted was the ability to have a child with someone who had some kind of ties with the fire giants (which wasn't exactly a widely available characteristic after how enthusiastically the Golden Order had set about wiping them out...). In such a case, turning to artificial life for Radagon and potentially providing a bit of fire giant magic somehow (a bit of it was stolen on at least one occasion, after all) might have created an artificial fire giant she could use. In this scenario, the goal would be the creation of Melina who seems to be the only character in the game who seems to simultaneously have an unusual affinity for fire and for the erdtree (making her the kindling maiden). It could follow that the goal of having Melina was to create a person with the right set of qualities to enable the burning of the Erdtree.
There are enough pieces to make the argument, but it would be important to keep the disclaimers in place that Asimi's questline was yanked from the game for some reason, and they pulled it out after the questline had been significantly developed (including the voice lines being recorded and all). It is entirely possible that what killed the questline was that they decided they did not want to foreshadow Radagon being some variety of mimic tear, and that this was no longer going to be canon.

Great work with this video, same as with the first one! I skimmed through that one as well before leaving a comment here to refresh my memory.
I think the case made here for Godwyn having died before Miquella and Malenia's time is quite compelling - I always assumed that Godwyn had a close relationship with the twins, but now I think it's definitely possible that Miquella just pities a brother he never knew.
On the main topic of the usurpation itself, I suppose I just see too many holes to be convinced by the theory. Just one example that I didn't see anyone else mention: why is the Finger Reader telling Tarnished in the Roundtable Hold about Marika being imprisoned, if it was supposed to be a secret?
Also, are we truly prepared to attribute post-shattering-of-the-ER phenomena linked with "Marika" to usurper-Radagon instead of the real Marika? E.g. when Gideon speaks of "the queen's sorrow", he's actually talking (unbeknowst to him) about Radagon? IDK, I feel like a lot needs to be ignored to make this idea work.
Tbh, I think it's very impressive that your first two outings have both been such a stellar job in terms of actually putting things together into a cohesive video. Keep it up if you feel that's what you want to do, it's clear you've got a good handle on this medium

There are certainly many small aspects that are tricky for the theory to address... I tried to highlight this with the question on Ranni still having a chair at the Counsil! The theory definitely isn't finished developing yet, and you bring up ANOTHER great point I hadn't considered before!
It is tricky that Enia straight-up openly tells us that Marika is locked in the Erdtree... I went back to check, but this part of her dialogue IS only made available AFTER you've collected two Great Runes, so AFTER you've earned the right to become Elden Lord. So maybe they only give this info to you as you're only the second person to achieve this?
It's strange, I'm often finding work arounds to fit the game into the theory, but I can understand how these types of reasonings certainly aren't SOLID evidence 😅 There are other areas myself that I'm struggling with within the Usurping Theory... Like how Marika is always called the "Vessel" of the Elden Ring, but we clearly see it's inside Radagon..? There are a lot of my speculations that I'm really happy with, that do work regardless of them being the same person.
So I'm GLAD people are sceptical! And I'm really happy to have area's I've missed brought to my attention, as they're really helping me work on where the theory is going!
I really would LOVE to make more, but it is very time consuming at this stage, and life is often getting in the way of focussing on these videos with the diligence that you guys deserve. So I'll have to see if I can keep working on making more videos, but thank you for your kind words and encouragement 😊😊

Man ive been saying that radagon usurped marika. Cause like they never talk about Marika ever interacting with Miquella or Melania. She's they're mother for crying out loud but only Radagon ever had time for them? Publicly Melania was her only daughter.... but again only thing ever happened was Radagon playing magic with Miquella. You dont actually see Marika until after you kill the Elden Beast. Radagon failed at impersonating Merika and stopping you then got turned into the sword. I think Radagon was a Misbegotten that found amber sap(the rune of the unborn) and it changed him into Radagon. In the process imbueing him as a demigod and making him forever ifatuated with the golden order. When he heard about Godfrey being sent away somehow he knew it was Marika about to betray the golden order and he went to stop it. Theres a few events im not sure of the order of but no matter how they fall it would still follow the same major points of it....

I'm wondering, how do you explain Morgott being in control of Leyndell, and Radagon being locked inside the Erdtree? Why and when did he lock himself inside, and why would he bother to maintain his disguise even inside, being crucified in Marika's place?

from what the world's environment tells, it does make more sense that Godwyn is an ancestor figure to Miquella rather than his sametime big brother.
one quote i'd like to add here is something i read in early 2023 and kept remembering as i started my late to the party 1st playthrough later in the year:
"... if, now, we have to strive to break out of the vicious cycle of craving and into the blissful peace of nirvana, how, in the first place, did nirvana 'regress' into getting caught up in the wheel of craving?"
am new to fromS stories and worlds so i will sound random af with the following but Elden Ring, my first, is truly entertaining my obsessive curiosity re pressing fun-damental questions around hexistence; while it's one of the most captivating fictional worlds to immerse in, and i enjoy all the lore sleuthing and passion for the narrative, it goes way beyond than what is happening while i stroll observingly through the land and reflect on what happened 5k years ago in the same spot etc -
i feel Miya is clocking all of my monkeys:
is there something lurking in the void?
what fr fr happened on this planet earth over millions of years that we don't know of and to this day guess, hinterpret, pretend we got "it" when we don't?
if we can conceptualise all these meta- and physical mysteries of what creates worlds, and fantasize up to the point of envisioning utopia extravaganza, why is our afk world so grizzly still?
is there a detectable rhythm in the drum to which timespace beats matter around and crumbling empire stories repeat, and will we learn to play, hear the cosmic symphony, dance between galaxies?
what if harmony isn't symmetric and we misinterpret it as chaos trying to force what we believe to be "order", fumble with disorganised categories, adhere to flawed rules, follow corrupted lawgic while being helpless to intercept and interfere the madness even if we wish to? (like, nothing is determined but we also don't have free will)
can we even grasp beyond duality within/despite the limits of our 360° holographic mirror dimension purrrception?
do i play videogames to cope with perpetual regurgitation from the ideological trashcan digest, what - if any - gems can i pull out of this time investment, will i find grace in the mundane of my every day?
what i s the damn cause of causality!

Radagon is marika the same way miquela is st. Trina.
This is why miquela is the chosen heir to godhood, as we see in the 1.0 version.
It can be inferred that being both genders is what makes an individual able to become a god.

About half way through and I just wanted to comment.
Fist I just want to say that I've enjoyed this video and your last very much. I think this central story is the story that needs unpacking and it's good on you to start here.
Second, I agree with you a lot on this theory and am happy that you rejected the idea that Miquella and Godwyn were close and are bringing up Kosmos's points about Miquella possibly trying to help other soulless demigods than Godwyn.
Finally, I just wanted to expand on a few thoughts about the eclipse as well as the night of the black knives.
In fact I'll start with the night of the black knives because isn't it unusual that Ranni was the mastermind of it, especially considering she's Radagon's daughter? I think it was Tarnished Archaeologist who said that Ranni very well might have even have been Godwyn's betrothed.
So if Ranni killed her fiance it would certainly put Radagon in a bit of an odd position. In fact, why would Marika invite the father of the woman who killed her most beloved son to become the new Elden Lord? I think that makes absolutely zero sense. However it would make a whole heck of a lot more sense for Radagon to either be partly behind the night of the black knives or to have decided to capitalize on the fallout from it. Or he could have been horrified of what had happened and went to the Erd Tree to make up for what his daughter did.
Also, one youtuber put out the idea that Ranni comes out of the egg during Renalla's fight, implying that the egg is what's keeping her disembodied soul alive. They said that Ranni, "unborned," herself when she slew her body.
So this gets me to the eclipse. What is a solar eclipse? it's when the moon crosses the sun. The warming stone description states that the erd tree was said to be warm like a sun. So could the eclipse mean that that is when the Erd Tree's(sun's) power is blocked by the moon?
Also, what happened in game during the night cycle?
    1: demi humans freak out.
2: the burned, hanging and crucified victims around the lands start the groan and scream.
    3: bats come out
    4: night's cavalry come out
    5: death birds show up.
So you might think that an eclipse would favot the creatures that thrive at night and will restrict creatures that thrive during the day or are part of the erd tree(minus the nights cavalry who just seem to serve Morgot).
Anyhow, thank you for your time and back to the video. =)

A: on the first part you keep saying Miquella is a fundamentalist. He was but "abandoned it because it has no cure for his sister" so he went on with his own order of Haligtree/Unalloyed Gold ("An order of abundance for everything, good or bad" it is said in cut content, but what could have been that "bad"? Those who live in death?). But your hypothesis he wanted to stop death root made me think of another theory (from Tarn. Arch. if I remember right) where the statues at the Haligtree depicting a figure with a staff-like needle could be tied with a plan to kill the Greattree root system usi unalloyed gold. What if that plan was created not to push for Haligtree supremacy but to remoce the deathroot infested parts?
B: You say the Great Will wants the Golden Order to keep going. But that is Radagon, the Will is ok with ANY order, or it will not have blessed with grace tarnished like Dung Eater. After all in dragon times there was another ruling with the Elden Ring (and the "red-tinged gold having still Destined Death in the mix*). I absolutely agree Radagon founded the Fundamentalism, as he is aiming towards reconcile every aspect of the world, like magic and invocations (probably due of his own perceived imperfection, starting with the red hair and finishing in being reunited with Marika. Unless that happens exactly because he is striving to unite everything).
Sidenote: He clense himself at the Church of Vows before marry Rennala, but not when she left her, even if that brings the problem of broken promises Turtlepope warns us about, also leaving a Great Rune in Rennala's care, I think there is something hidden here
*Offtopic: I personally think in Dragon Times the God was the Gloam Eyed Queen. Only her and Marika are referred as Queens, Marika can be tied by Tarn. Arch. work to funerary libations (a whole can of worms, but that means a previous order much more tied to death), Malekith comes from Faram priesthood (at least his alter ego) and his name "Scourge of demigods" mean he killed some (not Maria's one, so those of the GEQ -> He wielded Death so those can have been killed just in spirit -> Walking mausoleums ones. Another can of worms), at Godfrey's time there are still Beast Sovereigns (Serosh, Stormhawk Lord...) but he defeats those, finally Dragons (now without leaders) attack Leyndell and gets absorbed into GO.
C: As for question 7, we are told that Marika shatters the ER in response of Godwyn's death (even tho they had buried him before that), so after Black Knife Night. That brings to the theory many timing obstacles
1: even more than the seat problem, taking into consideration Radagon's direct order from the Fingers, Ranni had to be thought dead by him, seeing how the Fingers hunt her with shadowbound assassins (the one we defeat not being the first, as told by the mask they wear, made to resemble Blaidd). He instead pass the title of demigod to all his 3 previous children with the new marriage. Rykard gets the role of Praetor in the golden order, and Radhan generates Godfrey and his red haired dad, stopping Carians meddling with the stars (maybe in response to his sister's plans, we know Rykard knew of them by the "stone to Parry Malekith", was he ALREADY against the GO? At the start is more probable allineate with hit, commanding his inquisitor al arm).
2: Ranni tells us that she, Miquella and Malenia were the empireans with the power to became new gods, but if she shed her empirean body before the twins were born, she will still count herself? We know empirean status is granted at birth (she grew up with Blaidd) but she won't be a candidate with the twins if they are born after her body death. Those two are the prime problem here. If the ER shatters before they are born, how did they receive the Great Runes? Melina told us the words of Marika to her demigods (emboldened with the new powers from runes) "Go and fight for predominion", impostor Radagon would not have said so!
3: Miquella in particular: Lives with his father, creates invocations (also someone link to him the inventions of the Pulley Bow), learns how to influence others (with dark implications from the craftable Branch, tied also to blood. A skill anyway that I've heard someone postulate has been taught him by Goldwyn, who befriended a Dragon). Than rejects GO and departs to plant the Halig, crafts unalloyed gold items (the needle in particular), cocoons itself in the grown tree (acting for a while as Trina by his dreams) than, (while Malenia was going south, or just before by the theory she's searching it) he gets kidnapped. ALL THIS during the Shattering Wars? It can be a long period, but if the ambitions of the demigods were rampant someone could have attacked him and his sister before that. We also know Godrick/Godefroy is/are a descendant of Golden Lineage, so plenty of time must have been passed from Godfrey time, but it seems to me too much diluted.
4: Morgott ruled in place of Marika. Radagon would not have allowed that, an Omen in his Fundamentalist GO? And that happened before the BKNight, because the assassins were chased by Morgott's Night Cavalry and just after he created the torches to see invisible foes. Would have him gave away the Ruler of Leyndell role to Radagon, then retook it when Rad sealed himself in the tree? More like, if Radagon came after, he would have seen him as an usurper, like he does on his Half Brothers who betrayed the Council.
5: A note on what I said on Radagon attempt to conjoin everything: If ThoseWhoLiveInDeath were already around when he ascended, why hasn't he took them inside the order? Ok, maybe being the circle of life being tied to the Erdtree those were the perfect opposite to have something to antagonize and rally the Fundamentalism...
I honestly had a couple more points but I've been writing for more than one hour with also a headache so I've lost them, sorry xD
D: A note on Radagon and Melina. Part of me keep thinking at his "giant's red hair he hates" and how Marika defeated the Fell God but he still exist inside the last giant. Maybe she took the FG essence and processed it with the Erdtree rebirth process to distill a GO champion. We know from the Rebirth rune (that he had) that rebirthed creatures are imperfect, and he had that strive for completeness. On that road, if Melina is his daughter, as the three butterfly theory suggests:
1 she will have been born to Erdtree birthing, so that explains her "born from a mother" line (a physical process only the low will do, like misbegotten)
2 her "already been burned"/"Be the destinate (by Marika) kindling for the Flame of Ruin" can be tied to the problem of "a single God birthing" like the Twins or to his Fire Giant related origin.
BUT in the same vein, the tie between Melina and the GEQ can be explained if Marika rebirthed her vanquished foe. When Marika set her plan in motion, she took the GEQ essence (her physical body destroyed/burned by Malekith usage of destined death, like has happened to Ranni) and set her loose to stop the current Order (how much time has she been around to not being able to return to Leyndell before?). Ofc in the frenzied flame ending, she reverts at her old self after we unlock Destined Death from Malekith (as she usually has been burnt by that point).
Sorry for the length, but having delved into ER lore since the past two months, it's a bliss to find a channel that goes on now in exploring it, having the option to debate it and not simply reply to one-year-old videos. I also share the love someone pointed one for your phrase on the tone "everyone's theory has his value" ❤️
Keep it up! We'll discover everything together!!

Hey there, sorry it’s taken me a few weeks to get back to you - I took a little break after spending 3 solid months making this one, and I’ve wanted to go through all of your points carefully!
      A) Mquella’s cut content is really interesting, but as you say, is quite confusing to me. He does say “whether graceful or malign”, so I agree that he is suggesting his Haligtree would be more open and accepting. But you’ve hit the nail on the head - what exactly would be the unfortunate/malign things he would be referring to?
It COULD be Those who Live in Death, but I don’t think we actually find any within the Haligtree ourselves, and if he really was against the corruption of Deathroot, I’m also not sure he’d want them accepted into the Haligtree. And I’m struggling to think of who else might fall into this description… the only other obvious candidates would be the Albinaurics, but maybe there’s another group that we’ve missed? The Omen?
I personally LOVE TA’s ideas on the crucible being the rootstock the Erdtree was grafted onto, and the Omen are the symptoms of the crucible slowly erupting again from this original root system! It’s a great exploration of what real life inspirations FromSoft could have used arboreal concepts for inspirations and references whilst designing the world of Elden Ring.
And I’ve also been trying to work out how the Haligtree would fit in this model, and whether or not it could be considered a new graft, like the Erdtree, or a wholly new planted sapling! If it WAS a newly planted tree, then it certainly would be kept away from the infested Erdtree roots. But if it was separated from the rootstock of the Erdtree/Crucible, then maybe that would help explain why it’s decaying (alongside Miquella being removed)?
      B) My own understanding of the Greater Will has changed A LOT over the last few weeks, and you’re absolutely right that they’re keen on ANY order happening! When I write the script for this one, I was still under the impression that the Greater Will was a mysterious cosmic consciousness out in space. But now, after researching with a lot of other amazing lore videos, I’m now also thinking the Outer Gods are more akin to embodiments of principles, or aspects of life and death - it’s been suggested they’re more like Kami in Japanese Shintoism! And the Greater Will would be more like the collective consciousness of EVERYONE in the Lands Between? That would explain why there are different possible endings, where each one raises one part conscious ideal from those within the Lands Between. I’m still fairly new to his area, so I hope that makes sense?
I also think there’s something we’re missing about Rennala and Radagon’s marriage, but I am still really fond of my theory from my first video that Radagon had Rennala use the Amber Egg to remake him a perfect tool for the Golden Order! It still doesn’t explain HOW they got the egg in the first place, but it has made me VERY sympathetic towards Rennala.
And I ALSO think the Gloam-Eyed queen would be a god like Marika, and lately I’ve been working on a Theory that she was the God of the Rune of Death, while Marika was the god of the Rune of Life? I’m not sure at the moment, but it’s something I’m trying to develop!
      C) 1. “Taking into consideration Radagon’s direct orders from the Fingers, Ranni had to be thought dead by him” - I’m not sure that she would NEED to be assumed dead? We know the Fingers have still been sending Assassins after Ranni, so wouldn’t that mean they think she’s still alive?
You have made me think though, it’s interesting that the Two Fingers and Enia never seem that bothered by the death of Godwyn! They are just focused on Marika shattering the Eden Ring, and the fingers only seem to hate Ranni killing her own flesh and for not being their Empyrean… So maybe they don’t really give a toss about Godwyn? I hadn’t really thought of it like this before
      2. I personally think she would count herself as an empyrean alongside Miquella and Malenia, especially as she talks about it EVEN THOUGH she’s no longer an empyrean without her body! I do have some thoughts about how the twins would have gotten their great runes, which I will keep developing, and hopefully I’ll get the chance to make them into videos! As another note, I would argue that we don’t know when or to which demigods Marika was speaking to! It does make sense that she’s speaking to them all, but I think it’s still a possibility that she’s just talking to Godwyn, Morgott and Mogh…
      3. The idea of Miquella learning how to befriend (or control, if it is pretty dark?) people from Godwyn is an idea I’ve not heard of before… and I got to say, I DO really like it! The whole theory of a relationship between Godwyn and Miquella is amazing because it gives us SO much more depth to these two, as we really aren’t given much at all! Beyond fighting the dragons and getting shanked, there sadly just not much to work with for Godwyn… I hope I got it across in the video, but even though my theory goes against it, I do really love this theory in particular!
I think your order of events for Miquella is exactly the same as my own thinking, but you’re right that it IS a lot to fit into just the shattering war…
How I’ve always thought about it (and how I don’t think I’ve explained effectively enough so far} is that there would have been a period BETWEEN the shattering of the Elden Ring and the start of the Shattering War, where Radagon would have been pretending Marika is still in control. As such, I think there would have been time for the twins to have been born, for Miquella to learn Fundamentalism from Radagon, and maybe even to have decided to leave and start the Haligtree BEFORE the Shattering War had started.
As Tarnished Archaeologist pointed out, the ash around Leyndell DOES point us towards a previous cataclysm. SO, I think this would have happened around this time, whilst Radagon is pretending Marika is in control, and that would be the reason why Radagn shut Marika and himself inside the Erdtree.
This would have left the city in a state, and Radagon’s disappearance (and potentially Marika’s if he really was using some form of disguise to masquerade as her) would have left a vacuum for the rest of the Demigods to form the council. Admittedly, this scenario works with the currently accepted Radika theory. Marika breaking the Elden Ring after her marriage to Radagon, which was followed by him locking them both in the Erdtree does make a lot of intuitive sense, which I definitely can't argue against!
And also, unfortunately, I've been thinking about this theory for so long that I can’t exactly tell which areas I need to elaborate further on, as it all runs on my intuition a bit… So if there’s anything that doesn’t make sense, more needs explaining in further detail, please message me again!!!
      4. ^^^ this whole idea would also explain why Morgott had the opportunity to arrive on the surface!
I’ve not heard of the Night’s Cavalry chasing the Black Knife Assassins before, could you share where you learnt this from? I’d also mention that I’ve always thought it was Morgott’s alternate persona of Margit that was commanding the Nights Caverly, as he mentions it at the end of the Margit boss fight. As such, I wouldn’t argue that Morgott was ever in control before Radagon locked up the Erdtree, but I think he was certainly around as Margit, as he’s still just called the “Fell Omen” in the Second Defence of Leyndell Sword Monument.
      The Touch does say:
“Furnished on behalf of the Erdtree and the Grace-Given Lord such that a Night of Black Knives will never come again.”
Again, I have to be annoying and argue that we don’t know when this happened, so it could have been a long time after the Night of Black Knives. The Grace-Given Lord is likely to be Morgott, so I guess it would be whenever he was in power.
      5. On why Radagon didn’t take Those Who Live in Death into the Golden Order, in my theory he would have ascended shortly after Marika broke the Elden Ring, which was shortly before Godwyn’s Death. As such, they wouldn’t have been around yet, as they only began to appear after Godwyn’s body was interred in the roots of the Erdtree and began spreading Deathroot.
I’m thinking of doing a video on the different theories on Radagon’s origins next, but I also have a video I want to make about how Godwyn’s soulless body might actually be housing a hole that’s connecting the Lands Between to the Spirit Realm.
If we assume the depiction of the Elden Ring in Maliketh’s chamber is the Elden Ring in the age BEFORE Marika took control, then maybe death was accepted as part of the natural progression of life (the spreading “roots” might depict how the soul continues it’s journey after death). As the Rune Arc tells us of a “Basin where blessings pool”, and as it mirrors Marika’s Elden Ring, then the theory would be that Marika Shut off a whole section of existence by adding her Basin Rune.
As souls are only allowed to recirculate through the Erdtree, and as we KNOW souls used to go somewhere when someone dies, and as Godwyn’s Soul was killed and sent to this next place, AND as his body remains, I think it might remain as a bridge to the Spirit Realm that’s spewing out the Spirit Realm into the Lands Between.
I’m not sure if this makes sense, but I’ve yet to type this down, so sorry if it seems rambly!

      D) I mean…. Huh… HUH… Holy hell, that’s a really interesting idea!
I mean, yeah! If souls are all recirculated within the Erdtree, and if that includes the Sire Giants, then it would make sense that they would reemerge after some time! So maybe Radagon IS the coalesced essence of the Fire Giants made into a champion for the Golden Order! This is really interesting, and if I do make a video on Radagon, would you mind if I include this idea of yours as one of the potential origins for him?
I’m sorry as well for the length, but I wanted to go through all your thoughts, as they’ve all been VERY interesting!

P.s. Just a little note on the theory: More than the Sire Giants I'm inclined to think he's the imperfect reincarnation of their Fell God, as: we're told Marika defeated him personally, Radagon goes on to became a God again (through fusion, because of his imperfection being maybe reborn with the Amber Egg) and also I'm tempted to think Melina is the Gloam Eyed reincarnation in a similar way.

26:28 now back to Radagon, if we take for a fact that Marika shatters the ring before Radagon became the second elden lord, and that was the trigger for the two fingers to call their tool for torture marika Radagon back to the capital. Then that could only mean that the balance and stability that Elden ring gave to the lands between shatters along with the ring itself, and if the connection among the two fingers and greater will need the elden ring to be restored, then when the elden ring shattered, along with it the connection among the two fingers and Greater Will doesn't exist also.

Thanks for taking the time to message, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Can you explain your reasonings behind the differences between Deathblight and Destined Death? And in that case, also the term Deathroot? I'm interested to know, as Deathroot is what we feed to Maliketh, and Deathroot comes from Godwyn, who was touched by Destined Death. Is Deathblight not just the name for the associated Status Effect?

    • @specialnewb9821
      @specialnewb9821 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@JaRhEd69 Destined Death is the Death Rune Maliketh has and yes a fragment killed Godwyn's soul. But it's just the concept of death. The soul moves on (Deathbird psychopomps) the body decomposes. Then Marika removing the rune means souls return to the Erdtree (and possibly that its roots mulch the bodies) to return in some way (reincarnation?).
The deathblight comes from Godwyn's body being undead/alive and having no soul to recycle. Based on the Japanese text and things that Roderika says in English, living within Death means preventing your soul and body from returning to the Erdtree. This is accomplished largely by a persons will in Japanese. In Japanese when Fia hugs you what she is actually taking is more like a tiny bit of your Will to Live.
Afaik Godwyn being unable to be recycled by the Erdtree is causing it to essentially glitch out and the death blight piggy backing on Erdtree roots is reviving the soul-less bodies, which are who Fia calls those who live within Death and enabling more souls to resist returning to the tree. This undeath, interrupting souls returning to the Erdtree is the Deathblight. Destined Death is the concept that things live, die and move on somewhere else.
Maliketh consumes the deathroot (major deathblight concentration) in an attempt to make the death rune whole but it doesn't work because it's a symptom not a cause.
I really should write down my understanding of this better somewhere with better sources and shit, lol.
ED: To clarify, Godwyn's body is trying to live on instinct because it never died but is stuck halfway because the soul is dead. This instinctual life uses Erdtree roots to spread, and this is the deathroot. The deathblight is the effect of the deathroot separating you from the Erdtree cycle. That's why you sprout buggy branches when you die from it.

Great video. However, while possible, I don't think the Usurping Theory is likely. There would be too many red herrings for me to believe it to be true. Ironically I agreed with everything else you said, such as Marika breaking the Elden Ring because of an emotional outburst caused by the death of her children, and Melina being the cinder maiden and child of Radagon and Marika. I will go through some points which I think challenges your theory.
    1. The intro cinematic: You've touched upon it yourself, we see something like Marika and Radagon continuously switching places. This is in my opinion already too much of a red herring, for me to believe they aren't the same being, and that the repair and destruction isn't happening at the same time.
    2. Malenia and Miquella born of a single God: The only way I can see them being born of a single God, is if they either a believed to be born of single God or are born of a single God. I don't think it's plausible for the Two Fingers to just believe they are born of a single God, which leaves only them being born by a single God. The Usurper theory posits that Marika and Radagon are not the same being, so it goes against it. They are also not just the children of Marika, as Malenia hair color matches Radagon's.
    3. Miquella would have seen through Radagon: Considering Miquella's prodigiousness, I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't have seen through Radagon. Considering that this theory builds upon Miquella, Malenia and Melina basically being rape babies, and that his mother is eternally imprisoned and tortured, Miquella's seemingly good relationship with Radagon seems odd. Especially since Marika actually seems to have been able to communicate with Melina.
    4. Echoes of Marika (Capital Outskirts): Marika's words:
"Hear me, Demigods. My children beloved.
Make of thyselves that which ye desire. Be it a Lord.
    Be it a God.
But should ye fail to become aught at all, ye will be forsaken.
    Amounting only to sacrifices..."
Personally, this seems to heavily point towards being something Marika said to her children, shorty before or after shattering the Elden Ring. Basically she is saying that they'll be sacrificed by the Greater Will if they don't manage to fix the mess caused by the shattering. Considering Malenia's and Miquella's role in the shattering war, I think this was also said to them. The Usurper Theory places the birth of Malenia and Miquella to late for this to make sense.
    5. Radagon being disguised as Marika: There is no reason for Radagon to disguise himself as Marika within the Erdtree in the Usurper Theory. (Actually just thought of a cool reason that could help your theory. Radagon disguised himself as Marika to take Godfrey by surprise. But after he noticed, that it wasn't Godfrey he undid the disguise)
Personally my belief is that Radagon and Marika are one God/existence, but two bodies and souls. After we kill Radagon, only Marika remains.
I could probably list more, but I think this is enough for now.

I think this comes back to symbolism more than hard facts. Marika is a hypocrite, Radagon-Marika is the "fly in the ointment", and the world is bound by causality and regression. Radagon-Marika is a paradox, two things but one thing, two bodies yet one. They had to have fused and split but when and how many times. They push against regression and completely defy causality. I don't think we are meant to know but we are meant to understand: rich and powerful people just be doing shit without thinking of consequences

25:18 this time line had to be wrong. Marika usurps Radagon? Naw, more like he returned to what he came from. And the Elden Ring would’ve HAD to be shattered after that, because Marika was imprisoned and Crucified after that. Remember, it says After the shattering Marika went missing. I think you're using the Intro Cinematic for the timeline of the Elden Ring being shattered --> Marika going missing. This would be a pretty dark origin for the twins birth... but I've always thought it would be in line with GRR Martin's writing 😅

As for the statues blonde hair - its very articulate that ALL of his hair, his crown, his belt, and the lattice pattern behind him are golden!
It's the same shade as the Golden accents on Marika's statues, which looks like it has faded away. But Radagon’s is almost like it's made of a yellow stone, instead of marble, so it looks too intentional to me!
Someone has suggested that, as Radagon despised his own red raid he would likely instruct the sculptor to change it to gold, fitting in further his his title "Radagon of the Golden Order" after all!
It's a curious detail, but it's definitely part of his statues!

I really do believe in the usurper theory for Radagon
I think Marika, after being imprisoned may have vacated most of her soul from her body as Melina before Radagon could try to basically merge their bodies into one. And that perhaps she cursed her husk body she left behind to crumble upon merging with Radagon so he would never be complete.

I also think Melina had a role in one of these two events! For me though, I'm working on some theories that expand on her burning the Erdtree sometime after Radagon usurped Marika, which could also involve the red spear? It certainly looks like Destined Death, and we know that Melina seems acquainted with Destined Death, even taking us to Farum Azula to fight Maliketh!
So yeah, I think she also stole Death, broke into the Erdtree, stabbed Radika and burned it down!

Radagon should've become the second Elden Lord before the Shattering else there's too much time between the Shattering and the following Demi-god War. Malenia & Miquella need time to grow and mature, else they'd be killed as children. Well, Miquella's still young, but that's only physically.
If you believe Radagon is a separate being entirely, why did he get chosen in the first place JaR? What made him special? Why is he given command of Marika's forces and lead them in the Carian War? And how did he become so powerful that he was able to defeat a God?
Why are we able to repair the Elden Ring, when Radagon cannot? What ultimately stop him from repairing the Elden Ring? Why don't the Two Fingers ever make any mention of Radagon's failure?

Well, we are told from Miriel and Ofnir that Radagon gave the Great Rune of the Unborn to Rennala ininside the Amber Egg he gifted her.
Interestingly, I always thought it was implied that he gave her the Egg as a PARTING gift, literally just before he left her.
BUT, someone did mention to me that it's never actually stated WHEN he gave it to her. So it could have been at any point during their marriage. Or, he may have even given it to her at a much later date... It's unfortunately still unclear... Which is where many different theories come into it.
In my first video on the Usurping Theory, I did admit that I'm not sure how he got hold of the Great Rune to begin with...
To my knowledge, the current, generally accepted timeline STILL doesn't have an answer to this either. But any answer may depend on when you think he gave the Egg to Rennala in the first place.
Either Radagon got ahold of a Great Rune BEFORE the Elden Ring was smashed, or he somehow got one after Marika had smashed it.
It's tricky with very little mentioning the Amber Egg...
In the Usurping Theory, I think there would have been a short time when Radagon was still with Rennala, AND Marika would have smashed the Elden Ring.
But it's very tricky to define this area of the lore with such little mention of the Egg, and it might be down to personal interpretation.
What are your thoughts on it?

I think another big supporting fact for this theory is simply Radagon’s title. Second Elden Lord? No. Consort of Marika? No. Other half of Marika? No. Simply “Of the Golden Order.”
Every other main boss has some kind of title describing their importance. The notable exceptions being Godrick as just “the Grafted” seeing as he’s exceptionally weak and relatively unimportant and Fire Giant as he is the last remaining giant, giving the mere description of his being more than enough weight.
Radagon, such a seemingly major character if the Radika timeline is true, being reduced to his loyalty to the Golden Order, and not any of the other, much more unique and notable things he or his “other half” have supposedly done? It’s always been something that stuck out to me, and I think it actually may be more supporting evidence he was simply a tool of the Golden Order to usurp Marina’s position and attempt to preserve the status quo.
