The device consists of a thin, taut metal wire, often made of nichrome or stainless steel, or a thicker wire preformed into a desired shape, which is heated via electrical resistance to approximately 200°C.

FUNCTIONS:
It is a Multi-functional Styro-Slicer.
o. You can Change its voltage 12v(Normal) or 24v(Over drive) for cutting different materials(including: Plastics, Thin Wood Strips and different kinds of Foams).
o. Also You can change its current using a simple Fan Regulator for cutting Softly or Hardly according to need.
o. Mainly You Can set your Styro-Slicer to any desirable ANGLE(most using angles are 90° & 45°) by using a Degree Protector for making different Projects.

Yes you can use that wire if that is fully metallic but may be you'll face some resistance problem. I think you should try a bike brake cable wire which is comparatively cheaper.

You need to slow down and explain what you are doing and the type of motore and fans used.
Everything was fine until he plugged it into his wall. I hope you understand that all that voltage is getting transformed into high current. So it may be 12 volts AC, but it might be something like 2,000 amps more or less flowing through that wire. I also wouldn't use a speaker cable. That's not going to end well.

Got to the transformer and knew I was screwed and wouldn't be able to make the cutter.
Just use a lantern battery instead. Then you don’t need all the switches and shit
You can also use the 12V rail of a PC power supply, you can get used ones for like $10. Make sure it supports enough current though
