No, it's not. Hardcore is a subgenre of punk und the term "hardcore" is only the short form of "hardcore punk". So don't tell such bullshit. And btw why "thank god it's -punk"? If you don't like punk than you're wrong in the hardcore scene. Never forget your roots!
