I agree about the charm of parts tolerances, but is there a percentage you prefer to stay within? Is +10/-10% asking too much for consistency? Great content as usual!
±10% is like the old carbon composition resistors with the silver tolerance stripe. I believe the original Klon used 1% tolerance resistors so I probably will change these ones out after testing it. Experimenting is really half the fun of making you're own pedals and sometimes you stumble on a happy accident.
That’s fascinating how good the QC can be. I guess that’s why when you buy a special edition TS pedal (or Klon), you’re basically paying for more strict tolerances and consistency. I pretty much only experiment with passive pickup configurations, and have stumbled on some fun mods by using parts that i misread or used because i didn’t have the value I was originlly after.
@@HomespunEffects Is there any possibility you would consider building one for me? Obviously I would pay you. Plus I could polish your enclosures to a mirror finish for you. I do metal work/finishing/welding and have a shop with all the equipment. I never learned in depth electronics and would love to learn, but I don’t know where to start. I love the channel, it’s fascinating. Thanks! Happy New Year, Kurt
Have you seen the first series on this channel? It helps you get set up to make pedals. th-cam.com/play/PLLfcC-fVcvb_Bvkz_Z-1lwMStvG46rMef.html I plan to remake the setup tutorial to be better quality and more complete. I'm not opposed to building a pedal for you, I'm just way behind at the moment. Where are you located?
Your pedal never settles on a preset so it doesn't allow any output at all. The Real Tube buzzes with no signal passed. You'll have to decide which is worse. 😆
You ain't seen a messy workbench. Well, you have been in my shop....
Haha, but I can find stuff on your bench.

Yes! Please teach us how!
It's coming soon. The Klon is the reason I got into building pedals.

Hello, could you please place the link to download your eagle libraries? Greetings from Venezuela
Hi, friend! Yeah, I’ll do it when I get home from work. Thanks for watching!
Check to see if this works for you.

Wizardry I say !
Hush, the villagers will weigh me against a duck.
Is the real tube pre as messed up as my frankenpedal?
Lol
