Jimmy I am a retired truck driver and owner operator. Once the rpm sensor was replaced the engine run fine. I don't recall right off hand which one it was that went bad but it was one of the two. I have a similar Diesel pusher and you are absolutely correct that the hammer is the best tool! Any tool in my hands eventually becomes a hammer. As I’m sure your friend mentioned, the engine is in derate mode because of the check engine light. You do need the code. It could be an engine temp sensor, an oil pressure sensor or any number of other sensors that would cause this situation. Generally it will turn out to be something simple but because the rv has set for so long it’s a crap shoot to find the issue without an engine scanner. BUT a warning…when you get it running DONT drive it any further than the nearest tire center! RV tires, especially 22.5 inch motorhome tires never really wear out. But they do expire. And since it has set for so long the tires won’t be safe. Hope this helps…”it’ll be fine”.

Great effort on helping people out , really saddens me to see the amount of damage done in the area . I visited Fort Myers on holiday from the Uk a few years ago and remember fondly the warm welcome from the locals , keep up the good work.
Just a word of caution about RV tires. Just because they have tread does not mean that they are safe. Read the date code on each tire. Rule of thumb is replace at 5 years old but not longer than 7 years. Also check the air filter, and I would replace the fuel filter.
Best hand cleaner is Tub O Towels. Hands down. Ive had my hands black from grease from tip to elbow. Two sheets and spotless. Cool idea with the coffee grounds! Thanks for everything you do btw! Dig the kindness.
Jimmy, I've worked on cars for a number of years; during points to electronic ignition to OBD2. One thing I've learned, NEVER EVER disconnect the ECM, without disconnecting the battery first. Unplugging it and reconnecting it will cause a spark somewhere within the system and sometimes kills the ECM or one of it's sensors. ALWAYS disconnect the battery first. In this video, you may have already done that and it wasn't included in the video. Hopefully, you did. Good luck with the RV.
You are a Jewel Mr. Vega with the Big Heart. Blessings Brother. Jimmy it takes a Big Heart to know one , Great to see Love for our fellow Humans coming Back. Love wins every time.
What an arduous project! It will help someone in need, so more power (literally) to ya! My 1989 Dodge Daytona flashed the codes when you turned on the ignition (without starting) and pumped the gas 5 times, and the manual had the code table.
On the transmission shift pad, if you hold down the + and - button for a few seconds it should say OL (for oil level) and then I should tell you if it’s low or high or just where you want it
you need a odb2 tester ,scanner and it will give you the problem code to tell you what needs to be replaced. it sounds like its in limp mode and thats why it wont go over 1200 rpm. you can get a odb2 scanner at auto parts store
Hi Jimmy, I used to own an old RV much like this one, it had sat for two years and I had a lot of electrical problems with it. It was a nightmare trying to figure it out. Good luck!.
Fuel filter had the exact same problem with mine it's that for a year and a half it would rev up to a certain point stop. Change the fuel filters put some conditioner in ran it for a while fine the new owners took it on a 3000 Mile Drive no problems
You'll need the engine size & model numbers.& Code numbers off of it to for getting the replacement starter just A fast Heads up. Cause if you go through all of that work.& Spend the money on the relay fuse you might as well buy A replacement starter for the generator to.
Hey Jimmy, the BEST hand cleaner is made by ZEP and is called TKO. Rub some on your hands, a tiny splash of water, scrub your hands together and keep adding water as you scrub. I worked in an automobile salvage yard, as an aircraft maintainer, and I am a car guy. I've tried it all, and TKO is the best.

You may have got all of them back on but double checking never hurts. Good luck on getting the motor home going.
Nice bus. The owner was a very giving person and the bus is worth 35,000+hopefully you can share it with numerous families in need
What a wonderful thing to do for people that needs help. Sending good heartwarming vibes to both of you 💖
Blessings to Officer Vega for his service & contribution to the humanitarian cuase.

rebuild rip off rescue ... that guy is a con man ...raised nearly 200k to do a plane up in a go fund me then gets it done for free over years ....its all for him not vets
Jimmy! Check the fuel filters- there’s probably two of them.
Very cool rv! Hope you can get it a100%.
Jimmy I had my pick up do the same thing and the problem was a relay Once I replace the relay and it started right up good luck and I hope you get it running
The fuel pump relay?
Lou is a legend! Would be a great co host for Jimmy’s future adventures
If its low add a little oil and run it to evaporate the moisture out
Another good hand cleaner is dawn detergent with baking soda.
That is a seriously generous donation.
Best hand cleaner is Tub O Towels. Hands down. Ive had my hands black from grease from tip to elbow. Two sheets and spotless. Cool idea with the coffee grounds! Thanks for everything you do btw! Dig the kindness.
Thank you for the video and thank you to the gentleman that donated the RV.
We have a update or something on this
You should have brought in Derek Berry from vice grip garage. It would be fun to see you two together on the same screen.
That would be fun!
Probably corrosion on a lot of the relays and contacts, get some contact cleaner
Good morning Jimmy! Love your videos! 🙋♀️
The Sportscoach is a great machine! What a awesome addition to the JW Fleet
You are a Jewel Mr. Vega with the Big Heart. Blessings Brother. Jimmy it takes a Big Heart to know one , Great to see Love for our fellow Humans coming Back. Love wins every time.
Not exactly a turn key donation, hopefully you’ll get it going for a good cause. That hammer is a magic wand 👍🏻
Wow what a heroes story thank you 🙏🏼 so much for sharing an blessing our military families! Awesomeness love it 🥰
Sounds like it's in limp mode check the engine light code to diagnose but sounds to me like a fuelling or intake issue.
Dawndish liquid and sugar also works amazingly well and its easy on the skin. Gonna have to try the coffee grounds. Love what you do Jimmy. Never Stop
The generosity of our police is under appreciated. They willingly go where most of us fear to tread. Much love!!!
What an arduous project! It will help someone in need, so more power (literally) to ya! My 1989 Dodge Daytona flashed the codes when you turned on the ignition (without starting) and pumped the gas 5 times, and the manual had the code table.
I have so much honor and respect for this guy. Jersey city is no joke.
Jimmy is a legend :)
Uh..get it done!! GO FORIT..🇺🇸
On the transmission shift pad, if you hold down the + and - button for a few seconds it should say OL (for oil level) and then I should tell you if it’s low or high or just where you want it
What a lovley man, giving that away to someone in need
you need a odb2 tester ,scanner and it will give you the problem code to tell you what needs to be replaced. it sounds like its in limp mode and thats why it wont go over 1200 rpm. you can get a odb2 scanner at auto parts store
He said it is self test and gives you the code. Push the button under the left side.
Nice little change of direction Jimmy, this guy is reading your charitable vibs, good on both of you!
In the early days of huge computers, in San Diego a navy computer had a plaque saying, "When all else fails, KICK HERE.
Haha! Love it!
Love the early 2000s f150 tail lights
