Nice video and clear explanation. But i need to have Phone notifications on motion. I did make the right settings i guess but only the offline message is correctly showing. No notifications on motion alarm. (While recording is ok)

@@VanTechCorner I have various installation techniques ; I never mount the camera directly to the platform, I use a mounting shield which can be quickly adjusted and require a ladder to get to. This means that 1st, ya gotta get a ladder- crooks usually don't carry these. 2nd if you have 2nd thots, you pull 2-3 screws and walk w/yer ladder. 3rd U can use various "wedge" techniques to adjust the camera UNDER the mounting sheild. if the "built-in" ADJUSTMENTS are not satisfactory. If you have serious weather ALWAYS mount the camera inside a transparent plastic bowel. cHEERS

Looking for GOOD ENGLISH documentation on the Bullet 2C IP Outdoor Security Camera IMOU Zhejiang Dahua vision Tech LTD- I have 5 , but I am operating at 75% capacity, Support is very hard to get. Primarily I want to remotely access the micro chips and download them. There are several other capabilities I am missing. I will have to study hard your "chip access" via your PC; you went very fast.
I eventually want to save locally to NVR means goes on DVR hard drive = ONVIF compliant - that's future. Also shifting between Android and PC-Platforms. I am using "Blue Stacks" for the PC app to support "IMOU life" - i don't like it.

Hello how are you. First of all, I'm sorry for my English. I'm from Brazil. My name is Wellio
I really liked your videos about OpenWrt. Excellent. Thanks to you I was able to understand the tutorials on the OpenWrt wiki and set up a samba, ftp and extroot server on Openwrt. I saw your unbox video from an IP camera. I am trying to make my Chinese IP camera save the images on my samba-openwrt server using the rtsp protocol.
I'm having a hard time doing it.
So far I have managed to upload an OpenWrt to AWS, configure the OpenVPV server so that remote routers can communicate and save files in an s3 bucket using the image The penWRT. Have you tried to make your ip cameras save images in OpenWRT?

    • @VanTechCorner
      @VanTechCorner  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Hey, sorry for this late response. Most of the Chinese IP camera, such as this IMOU has ftp recording, maybe you can give a try with local server first. You can search for SmartPSS if you are using Dahua/IMOU cameras, there are a lot of fun to play around. For rtsp, not all of the cameras support this. May I know the model that you are using?

@@VanTechCorner Hi. Sorry for the delay in replying. It's a very generic Chinese camera. But I managed to get the RTSP to work on it through the application onvier. On android. Moreover, to reach the camera by the no-ip address of the reoctor. I only got it through the RTSP port. the captured Camera model is c6f0sgz0n0pl0. I managed tb to go up openvpn and close the vpn in openwrt image in aws. But I haven't figured out yet how to save the RTSP stream in buket s3. But I managed to set up an ftp server to save the images on tplink 4300 with openwrt and sync with r-clone on google drive and aws cli on s3

Without internet and router also can i use this camera with just the cam and my phone for only local viewing from within the house (i know that to see from another location or city you need internet). So in this standalone method without internet can i do the following....
    1. Can i view the camera or even 2-3 cameras of the same model live thru my mobile.
    2. Will it record also only upon motion detection.
    3. Can i access and view the recordings from my phone.
    4. Can i download a copy of important recordings alone to my phone or delete recordings.
    5. Will it auto delete the SD card files as and when it becomes full and fill it with new recordings ? or i should keep doing it manually.
    6. Can i view all settings and customize the camera settings.
    7. Will it alarm or make the phone app alarm to notify there's a motion recording being started. This is MOST IMPORTANT.
All the above points are possible without internet ?
Then why are some people complaining that to start the camera or do anything with it needs internet. Or is it required only for first time account creation ?
Can someone help urgently. Its a for an elder person living alone and faced a robbery 3 days back. There's fear for life. Need to buy and install this fast. Thanks in advance.

      Hello there,
You will need internet connection to setup and active the device and download the mobile app IMOU life for the first time. After that, internet connection is no longer required, but you will need a wireless router (access point) which will acts as a bridge, connecting your phone and the cameras together.
      1. Yes, with the IMOU app you can have up to 4 cameras
      2. Yes, you can turn off and off motion detection recording as well as push notification to the phone. As I remember, it turn on by default
      3. Yes, via IMOU Life app
      4. Yes, via IMOU Life app
      5. It will overw-write the files when SD card is full
      6. Basic setting - yes, such as turn on/off always recording, update firmware, wireless connection, but not the advance setting like exposure, encoding, etc.
      7. Yes, see point 1.
The fastest way is to purchase the wireless router and the camera from one shop, and ask them to help you to set it up on the spot.

I bought 2 IMOU cameras for the first and last time.
They make updates every 2 weeks.
Until the moment they installed me for the last time without allowing them the last update.
Now the sd card doesn't work anymore, it asks me to format it every time I log in and any notification pops up.
Although I wrote to them about the problem, I did not receive any reply.
The camera is still good, but it's annoying and I gave up on it, the outdoor one.
They update until the moment you can't use SD card anymore because they shove their paid online storage area down your throat.
And so you can't download any recording from the card to the phone.
Better in terms of price, quality and many options are those from Xiaomi.

Hi, I am not sure what is the model you purchased, but the IMOU cameras I used never auto-update, unless you manually do it from the app. The microSD is another problem, what is the brand/model that you are using? Cheap microSD and overheating may cause the issue, and I never got any problem so far (outside temp around 35℃).
