The problem with The Acolyte was everyone was written stupid; even the "strong" characters were stupid. I mean, who roots for stupidly? The Jedi were stupid, the witches were idiots, the two adult twins were morons-. Heck, even the muskrat was a fool.
So what you are saying is that whoever was in charge of this operation is stupid. I would say the solution is to take a good look at yourself and ask what you are doing with your life that lead to this point. If they can get through this, they will gain something called self-reflection and become aware of their stupidity and work to become smarter.
@@justiceiria869 I agree that that's the solution. But they need to have the humility for such self-reflection. And there's a lot of creatives who unfortunately run away from such growth...

Hm, funny, usually I hate Cancellations, usually i feel a Story deserves to be finished regardless of it’s performance and what the Opinions is of it, But for the first time in Years, this is a Cancellation that i feel pretty okay with and i haven’t even Watched the Show, all I know is from what others has said, which of course does mean that I might not quite know all the details of what exactly was the problem with this Show, but still. Regardless, hopefully the lesson from all of this will be taken to heart, to make sure nothing like this gets repeated, but due to how things has gone in the past, I am not going to hold my breath, i just hope that there still will be at least any kind of positive outcome that we could get from this mess. Anyway, on another more lighter note, how has Gildedguy been going? Moving along nicely?
Stories are one of those things. We love to hate bad stories, but I would much rather hate bad story after bad story than try to tell people to not tell their stories. My biggest strength is coming up with stories, and if I were told that my stories were bad and I shouldn’t try to tell them, I would kinda be a bit upset. Everybody deserves their chance to tell their stories, even if they’re bad. And even if they make bad stories, that shouldn’t determine what we think of their future stories. Sometimes all they need is practice in telling stories. Sometimes all they need is proper feedback. But when a writer can’t take criticism, that is when improvement becomes less likely. I’m just so disappointed by everything that happened with the Acolyte. It was a lackluster story with poor writing, and it didn’t even get a chance to finish properly. Heres to hoping that Disney will in some way redeem themselves. (They won’t, I’ve lost hope for them)
Disney hit the problem of how do they value streaming content. Eg if people are just purchasing Disney+ habitually and watching their classic favourites, what percent of potential audience have to watch it to prove it promoted customer retention or expanded their market? It likely didn't expand their market and if the vast majority of viewers aren't watching it then it likely had no effect on retention rates
And to add to that, the value of their streaming service in general reflected in the price to subscribe is nowhere near enough to cover the costs they are dumping into all their shows. There's no way that they can recuperate their investments, and it only makes everything worse when the produce shows and movies that drive away viewers.
I’m waiting for the inevitable reboot of the Skywalker Saga. Like Star Trek 2009 with C3P0 and R2D2 traveling back in time to the birth of Anakin Skywalker and they throw a wrench in the timeline with Obi Wan and Padme being the parents of Luke and Leia and Han Solo being the chosen one
It's horrible to acknowledge that it could happen... Because these so-called producers and Disney leadership are creatively bankrupt with a bunch of creatives hired to be yes men.

Definitely didn’t help that they got former personal assistant of Harvey Weinstein to be the show runner.

I want Darth Jar Jar to purge the universe and star all over again using the Eliacube. And why not? Because Disney doesn't respect canon!

It’s dead. Dead, dead, dead-ski. I mean it’s gone. Split, out of here. After life kid. Deceased
