For those who don't know The Park was a spinoff to The Secret World, a popular MMO about nearly every myth, folkstory, or urban legend had some element of truth and thus things like eldritch horrors, boogey men, and secret apocalyptic cults excisted. Becuase The Park and The Secret World share a universe, to get a lot of the context in The Park you would need to know some of the information avalible in The Secret World.
The people in Brooklyn and the All Seeing Eye are/is a big thing in The Secret World.
Yea, I remember clearing this part with my character. That creepy Octotron bastard gave me a hard time.

I still love that CoxCon is a thing. A thing that started as some silly joke on the Cooptional podcast (or maybe it was TGS podcast), a convention that revolves around Jesse Cox, became reality.
I feel like the spirit of TB is around when Jesse embraces his ideas and dreams. TB always seemed to be like that voice to Jesse, it isn’t crazy it’s a great idea.

Alex Faciane is brilliant, he's just so naturally funny. You can tell he doesn't even have to try and make people laugh.

Davis kind of looks like your best friend from middle school's hot older brother whom you secretly had a crush on for years because he was really cool and knew how to play the guitar and would let you look at all the cool stuff he had in his room and occasionally he'd let you borrow his games but then he had to help you beat them because they were too difficult for you but looked so cool and easy when he played.

I just realized that I didn't know what Alex and Davis looked like and in my mind they just looked like Jirard clones
I knew Davis from Warp Zone and some Smosh appearances, but I never knew what Alex looked like and i always pictured him as a jesse clone

Jesse is easy for me to tell apart and after seeing MP mayhem MANY times I would thought maybe I could tell the two apart, but it's still hard for me to say for certainty if it's Alex or Jirad. One day I hope to achieve that goal though.
Alex is typically a tad more obnoxious compared to Jirard, has a tendency to repeat jokes a little longer than what's good

I don't know if you're referring to the game or something they said but if it's the game then yeah. The game is all about that stuff. That stuff and everything else.
Lovecraftian horrors, zombies, ghosts, aliens, cults, the Illuminati, the Templars, wendigos, magic, werewolves, haunted houses, mummies... All that stuff.
If you're into that you should check out The Secret World. The Park is about a very specific part of The Secret World so in order to understand what it's about it's best to play The Secret World first.
Not to mention a Steven King-like author with a sniperrifle living in the top of a lighthouse.
The Secret World relaunched as F2P game in The Secret World Legends too (with the original still running for now, I think) [it was Buy once and Subscribe for extras before]
The first 3 areas in TSW are based on Lovecraft. There's even a Cthulhu-Spawn as the boss in the first dungeon.
I'm pretty sure Old Man Henderson is also a reference to an (in)famous Call of Cthulhu RPG campaign.
I meant the game. I've been reading the Lovecraft Omnibus lately and it sounds very similar to Lovecraft's style
imma give you all a TLDR of what happens in the last bit following the end of this video.

Soo .. SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS!
Hmmkay:
you walk through the corridor and keep finding stuff like old to do lists, hand drawn pictures, letters from their past.
you then walk down a stair downward that leads you to a corridor similar to the first one, but all clues are more fucked up.
this repeats over and over to the point where you find creepy monster cutouts, blood on the ground, baby dolls hung on the cieling, baby dolls in ovens and so on.
ultimately you get to a library where you find a copy of hänsel and gretel. you are lead to believe that you are the witch, that you lure in kids, put them on your "slab" and "tickel" them.
you then find the kid, apperantly passed out, on a stone slab. while approaching, the same creepy arms that came out of you on the roller coaster ride appear out of your body, draging your hand with a shiv or ice pic of some sort above the chest of the boy. the creepy hands then let go of your hands, but you yourself stab the kid in the chest. the picture then fades to black.
The story then jumps to a police interrogation room. a man walks in and tells lorane that "people loose things all the time. Think about the last place you saw your son." the final thing you hear are her thoughts: "In my heart and mind, i always return to atlantic island park." and it cuts to credits.

I've worked in a busy restaurant/bar for the entire day. Afterwards i went drinking at a festival held here in my county. After drinking quite a lot of gin and doing a lot of dancing, I arrived at home several hours later. I'm rather drunk and very tired, but imma stay awake and watch all of this video because scary game squad is always more important than sleep. And I know you all feel exactly the same way

cory6266 Outlast worked because it was onlh 2 people in front of a computer. The SGS are usually on a couch, plus getting 4 people in front of a PC with good enough lighting and shit would be too much of a pain.

Gutted! I managed to stay for the first hour of this but had to leave to do the 2-3 hour drive home. Didn't realize you finished like 25 minutes later, wish I had stayed :(

Those shadows of Hansel and Gretel are from the silhouette animation film made by Lotte Reiniger in 1955. I can only assume they are in the public domain at this point.
Edit: The whole thing is the film. I'm kind of disappointed, they really didn't do anything with it, but took out all the cool animation.
If I'm remembering this correctly, there's three separate stories going on in this game. Lorraine snapped and killed her son a while ago, Winters (or at least some entity using him as a host) is forcing Lorraine to relive the memory to drive her insane, and completely unrelated to those two threads, Chad (or Steve) was also driven insane and became a serial killer in the park.
Is there going to be a part two? I mean I already know this game and what happens but I'd love to see the reactions of everyone
Chances are there will be, I assure you that.
It'll be short, they were pretty much at the end, it's not a long game.. Seriously, every time they didn't use the run button, every time they didn't follow the obvious lights leading them on, every time they stared at a wall... they would have had time to do the whole game.

I talked to them afterwards, they like the idea that people will see this and want to see the ending but want them to experience it. So buy it and finish it. I know I'm going to when I get paid this month!
Hmm.. Oh well. I was kind of looking forward to another small episode just to see what other theories they come up with before the end of the game but oh well. I can just picture their reactions at the end when she does kill Callium 😂 like I hear them all screaming and freaking out saying "I fucking called it!"

SPOILER WARNING-
Like many said, this park is set in the same universe as Secret world MMO. In the MMO you learn that the park was built by a madman as an attempt to live forever using some sort of tainted grounds and dark rituals to do it. This leads to the park having several mysterious accidents and a few stabbings resulting in the park being closed. Later on in the MMO, you figure out that the madman succeeded and became a boogie man, A monster who lives forever on the fears/souls of children and has the power to create alternate dimensions to drag it victims to and the power to create illusions and tricks to create further fear/defensive abilities.
Now it's been a few years since i played this game so parts of my explanation might be wrong but the majority of it is right

As far as I know this game is part of Funcom's The Secret World universe. Funcom might not make the best *games*, but they always had a place in my heart for their understanding of atmosphere and above average writing. Some of their ARG for TSW back in the day kept people hyped for months. To see them release such an abysmal game makes me think that they just lost all of their actual creative writers and are riding on the coattails of the few things that made them any good. This is a glorified walking simulator with terrible cliché storytelling and just a bunch of horror references here and there like "OH LOOK, WE SAW THE SHINING YOU GUYS, THAT MOVIE WITH THE THING".
