Maybe Meesha was protesting the legal system or fed up with it, because it felt like the legal system wasn't doing much for her own case, but was calling her for Ali's defamation case.
She went to Canada I heard since last year...leaving behind unfinished case will never bring truth and hurts and confuse cases like this...regardless who is culprit but whoever showsup will win at the end.
@@tabinda460 She was recently i aurat march, if she has time to go to marches she can definitely appear in court too or at least her witnesses can who are still in Pakistan.
Muze waise topic(ali and misha specific) me koi interest nahi tha..but so addicted to see Hasan and amna .. i have to watch entire episode 😀 but otherwise it was informative
Examination in Chief is the statement of a Witness. Cross-examination is the cross questioning by the lawyer of opposing party to find falsehood. It is the most interesting part of a trial. In courtroom drama on TV/Film it is the most dramatic where a witness is found to be a liar. Unless you submit for cross-examination, your testimony is not worth the paper it is written on. It is as if it was never made. The court will not consider even a word of it. In fact the will consider you a liar. I have considered Ms Shafi to be a liar for a very long time as I was following the case in news media. Amna people are stupid when they lie. My dad was cross-examing a star witness in a murder trial, way back in 1960s. He kept the cross going for 6 hours, the witness got really relaxed that lawyer has nothing to ask. As per record the FIR was recorded within hours of the incident. My dad asked very casually who gave کوڑا وٹا bitter stone. The food that is served the next day in the home of the deceased. The witness impulsively pointed towards the accused. Hearing that the Sessions Judge jumped in his chair, reconfirming "THEM" about the accused from the witness. Witness knew that he has Fu*ked the case. FIR stated that accused were seen by witnesses, murdering but they in fact were serving the meals on the next day to the mourners. All accused acquitted. Cross-examination is the touchstone of a criminal trial. Why Mesha didn't file a criminal case, instead of workplace harassment? Good question! Maybe the purpose was to publicly damage Ali Zafar or the movie as Hassan Ch suggest in the beginning. Maybe it was all premeditated for entirely different reason. We can't say.
Totally agreed with Hassan why Meesha and her legal team never came for cross examination they shouldn’t miss any opportunity to talk about their stance good analysis 👍🏻🌺
That's because Aamna is an intelligent classy educated and professional journalist and commentator. This whole episode was beneath her. Scurrilous fish wife journalism on Hassans part.
Hasslock great work!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 That was brilliant research and very well explained! Thank you for all your hard work Hassan! Learnt a lot about the harassment penal codes that too from 1860! Wow! You raised very valid points as to why Meesha’s team didn’t use those. I happen to be in the camp that thinks Meesha spoke the truth. On the question of why Meesha didn’t appear for subsequent hearings maybe she thought it wasn’t worth the cost. You mentioned she was reluctant initially anyways and she has moved to Canada with young kids and our legal system can be so taxing and delayed and for her to continually make trips back was not worth it. Also AZ is a powerful man and all other women who had initially come forward backed off too. At least hopefully because of this fiasco men in the industry are cautioned that women can and will speak out and hopefully these men in powerful positions will think twice before indulging in such behavior.
I understand the whole thing that Amna had to keep a tilt towards Meesha or a self proclaimed victim of harassment being a woman given her postition but she should’ve been smart enough to understand that being unbiased and factual gives her and her platform more credibility. People want to hear the truth not opinions in such legal matters. Hassan has completely killed it in this one only because he was quoting facts and talking from a place of reason than bias. Blindly supporting a woman just because you are a woman doesn’t really cut it in 2020. Just a feedback hope you won’t take it to heart Amna :)
The more of a concern to me is certainly related to Meesha Shafi`s legal team which is currently unavailable and why it took this long to give a final judgement accordingly and secondly I also want to know the reasons behind Ali Zafar`s omission from PEPSI`s segment. As far as I`m interacted a lot of revelations were unknown to which Hassan got hands to.Anyhow I`m excited for next couple of interviews.
Amna seems like a pretty intelligent dame, but why does she come out so confused? Misha has lied through her nose and falsely accused Ali,but never expected Ali to strike back so vociferously
I don't know both the people what is there inside their mind . But being a woman I would definitely give meesha benefit of doubt because I can understand why she is escaping judiciary because ali is a very powerful star maybe she just wanted him to suffer what he went through for past two years that can also be the case and in cases of sexual harrasment providing evidence is very difficult for both parties if she fights too everyone knows who's gonna win and it's all powerplay Ali and Meesha only know the truth but we can only speculate . Hasslock. well done 👍👍👍👍 you've outdid yourself ❤️❤️❤️❤️great research!
Guys one more issue that you have to investigate is about Director sohail javed & Jaami and saif samejo. And this harassment issue is almost disclosed now a days by a apology letter issued by saif and other opponents. Please shed some light on it.
@@adeensyed See if he is a harasser then why it ended up on apology letter by the other party. Truth must be showed to us and unfortunately justice never be served in our country
Huge fan of both Misha Shafi and Ali Zafar. However, that tweet and the way it's worded is extremely suspicious, makes it sound as if the whole thing is a setup.
Citing Section 509, which states that sexual harassment is punishable by law, does not show that the law is implemented. The section does not explain that providing evidence of a covert act such as sexual harassment is almost impossible. Citing one rare case where the survivor of sexual harassment got justice does not cancel out the millions of cases in which women get no justice.
Misha from this case from the beginning just got sympathy from public and brands from media. She has gained more whereas Ali has lost everything. Moreover, after she has played all her games she has distanced herself from the case. I really object a woman who misuses the rights of women for her own selfish agenda's. When there are hardly any rights for women in Pakistan than these sort of ladies does not do any good to them instead they make them look like another scam. Please support the women who are actually struggling to get justice 🙏
Guys aaplog ne ek cheez note ki? ..ki sabaat mei anaya- hassan ka track *humsafar* ke khirad-ashar jaisa hora.... aage aur similarity rahengi zarur ..What do u think?
Such a intense mature conversation that was about almost 45mins long but not even a single boring aspect of the entire episode.. Informative too regarding penal codes regarding harassments..
I’ve got to say Hassan was in a next-level mode in this video 🔥. This video surely has given more clarity to the audience and the best thing is that it’s UNBIASED. I would also like if both of you could make a similar video clarifying the Mohsin Abbas case because both, him and his ex wife, have been saying opposite things and both have claimed their victory in the case for themselves. Furthermore their fans are trolling each other too and there’s probably no unbiased information on net regarding the case.
Hassan is the only reason I still watch Something Haute. He has no agenda. He is fair. He is extremely thorough and you can sense when he is objective yet passionate.
I do not know anything about the case, but I saw an interview of Ali Zafar and his wife with Mubashar Lucman, where Ali Zafar made remarks about Meesha’ s physical appearance, which were simply despicable. Showed a lot about his mentality. The interview too looked planted.
@@zahroohussain7460 he or his wife said that he had worked with katrina and big stars in bollywood..ali zafar ko meesha hi mili thi harrass karnay k liay..something along these lines
I'm literally an ABCD (barely speak urdu but understand it) but somehow you guys keep me so entertained and I look forward to your videos every week. 💜
If I was innocent then I would probably do the same. If you have publicly lied about me then I want you to publicly apologise to me. I'm not saying he is innocent but can understand the mindset if he genuinely was.
Wow Hassan is Sherlock Holmes. Hats off to his relentless investigation on the topic😎 and thankful👏👏 to both Aamna and Hassan for bringing factual information after thorough search and valuable comments. I don't think I have found another platform which I would trust with facts. Loved Hassan's pink phone 🤗
Wow amazing content Hassan! Your research was thoroughly done. So proud of you!!! Fav piece of haute bites, it’s actually informative rather than just being entertaining. And oh I don’t want to watch any haute bites with hassan not being there :(
I think this has been well researched. Well done Hassan. Excellent episode today. Aamna looking really nice in black. Mashallah. Keep up the good work. I would like to see more programs where you have done investigation.
Contradiction: Hassan claims that the witnesses could not have felt pressure from Ali because the FIR was activated only recently. Then he goes on to say that Ali filed the FIR in 2018 regarding cyber-bullying. Knowing that an FIR is being filed against you is pretty intimidating, especially in Pakistan.
I feel like Hassan's trip to Lahore was only to "research" in order to continue this saga of meesha shafi vs ali zafar. It is also a well known fact that ali zafar did not turn up to hearings delaying the process. Frankly I am sick of people including you guys adding fuel that ali zafar is presumably innocent and that meeshi planned this as a stunt. I could go on and on but what what meesha shafi look to gain from pulling this off?
Hassan is not a legal expert. Neither is he a scholar of social justice. He is not fit to comment on such a sensitive issue with the authority of an expert. Clearly, shows his bias against women who take on harassers.
No offensive Hassan but you talked about Meesha interview but you forgot to talk about Ali Zafar interviews. 1. With Ahsan khan where Ali Zafar claimed that he won the case. He didn’t. The harassment case was dismissed on technical grounds. 2. Ali Zafar interview with Mubashir Lucman. The way he talked about Meesha. That was classic text book eg of how perpetrators play with the victims. The perpetrator down plays the victim and blames them. 3. What about the gag order that Ali has on Meesha that she can’t speak about the case.
First two valid points but the gag order, to my knowledge, doesn't prevent her or her lawyers to talk about facts pertaining to court proceedings -- Hassan
@@SomethingHaute to my knowledge Nighat Dad and Saqib Jilani asked for more time from the court. And in 2019 Meesha wasn’t in Pakistan due to her immigration.
Ali's behaviour in various shows about the issue has been the behaviour of a typical harasser trying to defend himself by slinging mud in the face of the survivor. Hassan is not qualified to investigate this issue because he is not a legal expert or a scholar of gender justice. The documents he has displayed in this episode and the claims he has made about the information in those documents don't match. Amna has actively promoted "Teefa in Trouble" in the wake of the sexual harassment complaints. When she was called out for these promotions she said she was waiting for the courts to decide. Well she should have put a hold on the promotions till the courts gave a decision. She has zero credibility. Both Hassan and Amna should stick to reviewing trashy cultural productions which reinforce misogyny.
@@asmasiddiqi1 I reviewed Kate Manne’s book “Down Girl” for my PhD class. The chaps where she talked about downplaying the victim where victim has been blamed in different American court cases and explained classic text book behavior of the sexual harasser just sets in with Ali Zafar.
Not undermining the me too movement and I have seen harassment happen first hand to girls..and them being timid and not wanting to create a fuss so ignoring it. Having said that, having had an empowered and progressive upbringing,I was able to kick out first and inform my parents after, a tutor who tried to communicate his romantic feelings to me,then aged 17, verbally while my parents weren't home,I just cannot picture a confident woman like Misha not grabing him by the collar the very first time something made her uncomfortable...Yes there are girls who get traumatised and stay quiet and are broken by harassment...but I'm sorry MS isn't that personality...Also like Hasan pointed out,the radio silence from her team is not helping her cause or the me too movement either.
The case you referred to Hassan is very different and extreme harrassment from multiple men at that lady's workplace. She was lucky to have one man on her side who acted as a witness for her. Even throughout the trial, she was harassed further but she didn't give up. It took her two years and lot of sweat and tears to win!!!!
And it is a rare occurrence that a woman who complains about sexual harassment gets justice. Hassan is making it appear as the norm. His so-called investigative report is extremely biased and full of incorrect information and false claims.
Are we all so naive to believe that this legal course of actions will actually bring justice? That too in a case of sexual harassment which is almost always hard to prove in a court of law. Harasser doesn’t do the harassing in front of witnesses. It’s just his word against hers. So this legal drama is just a show.
Sexual harassing just doesn't stop at one person. The person harassing, after a time gets bolder and less fearful. There must be other women if he is truly what she says he is. Whenever one woman comes out and speaks it prompts other women to make a stand.
@@WellISaidIt that is correct. However the women who did come out against Ali safari had to retract the statements after vicious bullying. In Pakistan any woman will think a 100 times before accusing a man of harassment. The system is almost always skewed against her.
@@zainabhaider215 Had to or decided to as maybe this went bigger then they had thought. Maybe they had agreed to support support thier friend and didn't realise how out of hand it might have got, Once you lie, you got to keep on lying and it takes a special kind of person to carry on down that route. Once you have mad an accusation you will be trolled regardless of if you carry on or take it back. Thier name is forever attached to this case, so may as well continue. I agree the system is against women but they must have thought of that before signing on the dotted line and it's not as if he has had an easy ride, He is getting just as much dirt on him.
@@zainabhaider215 Sure, but I will say that I wish all of them had followed through with it and got it to a conclusion. This way no one wins. Just a messy mess.
I am not taking any sides because I don't know the facts fully but I do want to point out a few things in your video: 1. Evidence for a defamation case and for a harrassment case would be different. For example there is no evidence for harrassment in most cases. But the harrassment law mentions that if you have mentioned to someone about the said harrassment then that will be considered as evidence. I do not believe that the same evidence can be used in defamation case. Please keep in mind laws are different and what can be accepted as evidence is different for each situation. 2. If it has not been determined that harrassment actually happened or not defamation case is pre-mature. The defamation case should have been stayed on that basis alone. But it wasn't as far as Ali Zafar was concerned but it was stayed as far as Meesha was concerned. 3. The order that u showed in your video. Have you read it? It says that criminal proceedings against certain witnesses have been proceeded so if they aren't there it doesn't matter but the remaining ones should still be present and go ahead with the proceedings. This is what the plaintiffs lawyer has said as far as what I read in the order. Ap adhay witnesses to out Ker Rahay Hain basically. How does that effect the legal strategy of a party we don't know. Perhaps that's why they aren't appearing? 4. If u guys remember Ali Gul Pir made a song against AZ and also mentioned and I think even tweeted about getting notices from FIA. So it wasn't that this all wasn't happening pehlay say. So Hassan u can't say that FIR Abhi hui Hai and pehlay Kuch Ni hua. I distinctly remember AGP's issue with this matter. With due respect, I don't think this video should have been made. Your comment about what evidence can or cannot be given in a defamation case is a legal point which you don't have knowledge about and to say something which may be logical but incorrect in a legal setting just throws incorrect info out there. I'm not trying to be disrespectful just trying to convey what I saw and felt. Thanks
@@R-Ash28 There can be many reasons for that.. it could be strategy, legal precedent on the respective laws etc.. anyone can make a strategy based on that.. a lawyer gives advice on what may be likely and what may be not likely based on that.. its a very normal thing
Regarding your first point, what you are saying might be true (I don't know I am not a lawyer and repeated that a zillion times in the video as well) but that's secondary. Why Meesha's lawyers aren't appearing in court to then present whatever other evidence they have is still a fair question, wouldn't you agree? The second point again might be valid but that's not what eventually happened right? So now whatever did happen, both Ali and Meesha need to work with that, wouldn't you agree? Yes I have read the order it says civil and criminal proceedings can run parallel. But still, as I said in the video, the cybercrime FIR was lodged just now why were the witnesses not presented all of last year or even this year before the FIR was lodged? I didn't understand your 4th point, to be honest. Also I think it's unfair of you to say this video shouldn't have been made when you yourself are saying you don't know the facts fully. Wouldn't you agree? -- Hassan
@@SomethingHaute your first response. Yes I agree adjournments and delaying proceedings is not right. My response was just limited to your view that the same evidence can be used in harrassment and defamation case and I just wanted to point out that's not the case. Second point it is for them to work with and they are. I guess one of them has a strategy of delaying it lol. Third and fourth response of yours is linked. I was trying to respond to that part where Amna said that there could be pressurizing and u said that FIR Abhi hui Hai so I just wanted to mention k AGP had spoken about something related to FIA and pressurizing (if my memory serves me right). I guess my comment would've been more relevant if I was sitting there too. Lastly, unfair. I'll take ur opinion. But I just felt that there were too many gaps in which some of them were of technical nature which should not have come up. They just give rise to more controversies and u guys usually don't fall into those so that's why I said this video shouldn't have been made. Just my opinion🙂 U guys do a good job so keep doing it. Take care
@@SomethingHaute this video was so unnecessary. It felt as if you guys were trying to undo your last video which created sympathy for meesha. This video was probably done to make AZ happy. Hassan, if you were really interested to know the truth, you would have contacted night dad or Hina jillani, lawyers of MS. But clearly the agenda was to discredit meesha. Something Haute's bias is very clear. Amna interviewed AZ but not meesha, You picked a random tweet from a fake account and built a case against meesha, all the while pretending to be neutral ( laughable) and how conveniently you forgot to mention that there were multiple allegations of harrassment against AZ. Also, there is a gag order against meesha so she cannot clarify her stand. And you also forgot to mention that AZ,s father in law owns a law firm and the legal community is in his pocket, so no surprise that all of meesha's petitions are dismissed. It is because of women like Amna and platforms like something haute, operating as brokers for the sexual predators like AZ, that women in Pakistan dont get justice. Shame on you guys.
I think Singer/Actor Ali Zafar has taken a right step by taking her to court. ( look what Happened in Bollywood, they ignored and where do they stand now)
It's not rocket science to understand. When you are trolled, harassed, your case dismissed and a new case brought on you, wouldn't you be disheartened by the system?
Yes hassan is right if meesha had come out she was aware of all , nothing happened to misha after she was not out of any project but ali suffered all so called feminist abused him took project if misha was right why she is not facing now its the matter of responsibility she must come out and solve otherwise genuine cases will step back I am sorry but it was looking just at that time she defamed Ali of agenda
Hassan says he does not know the truth, yet he points to the possibility that the sexual harassment complaint from Misha could be a planned misdemeanour or a malicious campaign because some random social media user made a comment on Ali’s manager's Instagram about Ali being a “pervert” before Meesha went public with her complaint.
I never trusted Misha. Like Come on! She was lovey dovey with him all these years. You people are forgetting one audio call with Misha and a person in Punjabi where he is urging Misha Shafi to keep highlighting this issue. Amna is trying to defend Misha in vain. Harassment is real but Misha was not harassed.
The thing is, people have seen meesha and Ali grinding on dance floor at parties. They’ve partied together and been friendly. Ali Zafar is very over and has been a creep for a long time. All Lahore knows it. He was good looking, famous and girls were literally throwing themselves at him and he used to take all these perks of fame. Then meesha and him got into some fight etc and now both are trying to look holier than thou. They both are not innocent and this is just getting annoying now!
Hassan's claim that the court document dated 10.10.20 says that Meesha and her legal team are not presenting evidence is incorrect. The document states that Meesha has moved an application for a stay on case proceedings till the decision regarding the FIR against Meesha and her witnesses is announced. The second document dated 13.10.20 states that the plaintiff/Ali, and not the court, is asking why the evidence and witnesses are not being produced and that criminal proceedings against three or four witnesses have been initiated. According to the document an adjournment was requested for one week which is standard practice in legal cases. Not a big deal.
There is no match of something haute in terms of content .you guys are the best .no I repeat no pakistani TH-cam channel can match your level . Love you both Aaminah & Hasan💗
While a defamation case is being heard by a court, Amna and Hassan insist on publicly discussing the sub judice matter on social media, and Hassan works hard to influence the decision of the court by building a case against Meesha Shafi. This is an illegal practice and both Amna and Hassan can be punished for it. It is the professional and ethical duty of Amna and Hassan to contact Meesha, her lawyers, and witnesses before airing the programme about them and get their comments on the issue. Instead, Hassan and Amna are making public announcements demanding information from Misha, her legal team and her witnesses. This is an act of bullying in public view. Meesha is not obliged to respond to them. Something Haute is fast turning into India's right wing Republic TV run by Arnab Goswami and BJP. FALSE CLAIMS: Hassan has displayed two legal documents in his programme. Displaying legal documents and falsely claiming that the documents indicate that the court itself has stated that Meesha and her legal team are not presenting evidence and witnesses is misrepresentation on Hassan's part and therefore, a legal offence. In fact, the first legal document dated 10.10.20 and displayed clearly on the screen says that Meesha (defendant) has moved an application for a stay on case proceedings till the decision about the FIR against Meesha and her witnesses is announced. Obviously, an application for a stay order is moved by a lawyer, which in this case is Meesha's lawyer. So the legal team is not absent. It follows that Hassan has actually lied about what the specific document actually states. The second document displayed by Hassan is dated 13.10.20. The document states that Ali (plaintiff) is asking why the evidence and witnesses are not being produced and that criminal proceedings against three or four witnesses have been initiated. According to Hassan, the document states that the COURT is demanding to know why the evidence and witnesses have not been produced, which is a lie on Hassan's part. It is Ali who is raising the question, not the court. The document further says that an adjournment was requested by Meesha’s team for one week, which is standard practice in legal cases. Again, her legal team made a request to the court, so they were not missing. Clearly, Hassan is lying about the very legal documents that he has produced in this show as legal evidence. His so-called investigation is a generously sponsored scam and propaganda against a woman who has stood up for herself in an extremely sexist society. Both Hassan and Amna are repeatedly running shows about Meesha to increase the viewership of their poor-quality programme and to support harassers who sponsor their so-called investigations into the legal realm.
Hassan could not have gone as far back as 21 February 2018 to search for an Instagram comment by an unknown Sana Samir to Ali's manager. This information was clearly provided to Hasan by an interested party. Hassan covers show business. His beat is not the legal justice system of Pakistan.
Last yr in Florida, at an annual APPNA event, while Ali zafar was performing a guest in front of d crowd held up a sign that read “we believe meesha”.Ali responded by saying “i know who sent u here”. After little confrontation security escorted that guy out.
There is so much hoopla around this case that the real issue is silenced in the noise. I rolled my eyes when I liked at the title but Something Haute did such a fine job of sharing the timeline and facts impartially. Thanks Watching Hassan and Amna is such a treat to the eyes.
I'm glad to know there are so many laws against harrassment in Pakistan. But my question is how one can prove incidents such as "some stranger touched a girl/woman inappropriately", "someone passerby sang vulger lyrics to a girl/woman " etc etc.
When presenting evidence that supports Ali, why did you not contact Meesha, her lawyers, and witnesses to find out why they did not appear for the cross examination in the defamation case? Contacting both parties is your ethical duty.
May be AZ didn’t think that he was doing anything wrong but the truth is as soon as the victim starts to feel uncomfortable at any point there’s a problem. Some people may be genuinely to dumb too understand this.
Mate I've just come across your channel, your much better then These pathetic morning shows & news channels. You elegantly summarised the whole case very professionally & maximum respect & praise to your guest, who patiently sat & listened all the way through without rudely interrupting you & her say too. In regards to this mug meesha, she just tried to use & abuse the gender card & it back fired on her. I'm all AGAINST physical & abusive harassment towards women providing they have witnesses and evidence. Not showing up in court & not a single representative from her legal team evaded court is very suspicious & says it all meesha LIED
In my opinion Ali Zafar is the innocent and it’s my opinion you can disagree don’t get mad. I am saying this because Meesha is not coming in the court and that shows that she’s not the innocent one.
Asalam o Alykum Hassan & Aamina...Will watch the episode now but wana tell you guys are love....I love and respect both of you dearly. You guys are decent, educated and extremely responsible for whatever you says .....Keep it up the great work...........stay blessed
Hassan says he really wants to know why Meesha and her witnesses are not coming to court. Is he a clone of Arnab Goswami who keeps screaming "The nation wants to know"? If the matter is in court and Hassan has so much faith in the legal justice system then he should wait patiently. Fans don't have the right to know everything.
Amna says she is faced with a “jumble” of information, and is not sure what is accurate and what is not. Yet she insists on organizing two lengthy episodes on an issue as serious as sexual harassment.
When news of Mukhtaran Mai's oppression emerged, Mubashir Luqman maligned her in the media in a manner most vicious. Is it a mere coincidence, that in the aftermath of Meesha's complaint, Ali Zafar turned to Mubashir Luqman and appeared in his show, saying things like Meesha was ugly etc? That programme showed how journalists are used to attack women who stand up for themselves? Amna, you need to review the definition of "internalized misogyny," so that you don't sit across a sexist man and allow him to throw incorrect and biased information at you, while you pretend to be mystified.
Very impressed with Hassan’s journalistic skills. I know you guys are trying to keep haute bites light but this was very informative and great quality content!
The document Hassan has produced states that criminal proceedings have been initiated against Meesha's witnesses. Yet he thinks the witnesses should not feel intimidated?
Why is Hassan saying "Main faisla nahin suna raha" while all his arguments are in favour of Ali. The misogynist comments by most of your followers below show what kind of a community of woman-haters you are consciously developing.
I m not a fan of ali or misha, but i appreciate u both that u chose this topic. As u have a voice you can change perception of people or give awarnes. Kudos. you are fulfilling the responsibilities
Dear Hassan and Anna, I remember reading articles on the whole AZ and Meesha issue, some of the female journalists said that AZ was sexually assaulting women way before, and the industry knew of them. In fact so many women came forward to talk about their experiences but mysteriously disappeared.
This was very well presented. You both were neutral and spoke of both sides. Hasaan's research was on point. This is proper journalism. Thank you to you both amazing job
I wasn't aware that they were old friends before today but even if they weren't I think the better way to deal with this would have been that Meesha should have spoken directly to Ali about the incident that made her feel harassed rather than going through PR team. If you are such old friends you the person directly that a certain thing he/she did that you made you uncomfortable and made you feel harassed. And if your friend whom you are confronting is a decent person should have apologized sincerely saying that he is sorry that he made her feel that way and that it wasn't his intention. I am a feminist but I think in some instances where harassment is very subtle it can be a relative. Just because if I class something as harassment doesn't mean another would and vice versa. I have had a couple of instances with friends where I have felt harassed and have told them directly they are harassing me and they have immediately apologized stating they didn't realize that they were even doing it. I am not defending anyone but to me, this seems logical between friends. And if even after your confrontation that person apologizes then you should go to court but if you do go the legal route then do appear in court or at least show something.
Being a lawyer myself I know how much guts it takes to go to the authorities in such circumstances. Asking her to speak to the alleged offender is unreasonable- you wouldn’t expect someone who was physically assaulted to confront the alleged attacker first therefore why would you expect it in these circumstances?
@@arathmore536 I agree with you 100% that it takes guts to go to the authorities and also that one wouldn't speak to the alleged attacker in normal circumstances. My point it coming from them being friends and if your friend has done something that made you feel that way you can confront that person. Or maybe I am the confrontational type and I get not everyone is like that. And it was just a suggestion. None of us what actually happened so all of this is just speculation and suggestions
An example of a man looking at this issue from the male gaze. There is usually a lot of reasons why a women would lose interest in the court process usually on the basis of pressure from their family/ society or if they feel that the court is not going to be giving any relief to her. Section 509 of ppc has a very high threshold for evidence and hence very difficult to prove. The likelihood of winning such a case under the ppc is low. They are witnesses in the defamation case and they have been trolled online and harassed by the az pr machine to keep quiet that’s why they aren’t appearing in court. It isn’t necessary for the fia complaint to have been the catalyst for the witnesses to keep quiet. This entire episode was so disappointing it seemed v biased maybe the az pr team got to you too.
No Ali's PR team did not get to us. Whatever points we raised, we invited you guys the viewers as well as Meesha's legal team to address them. In fact your comment is very welcome and thank you for sharing your perspective about 509. Nowhere in the video did I mention Meesha should have definitely filed her case against Section 509, I merely asked if anyone knows why she didn't please tell us. And that's what you did. Your comment, in fact allegation that Ali's PR team got to us, would stand merit if I was arguing with you and vehemently defending Ali. Which I clearly am not. So once again, your perspective and other viewers' as well on this matter is most welcome -- Hassan
Why did Ali offer to apologize to Meesha if he had not harassed her? Meesha said he retracted his offer later on. That is typical behaviour of harassers.
Hassan, when a harassment suit is rejected and followed by a defamation suit the escalpatory evidence for the harassment is not credited in the defamation suit. So the only choice meesha's legal team is left with is not showing up.
But the harassment suit hasn't been rejected, it's was not heard because it didn't come under the jurisdiction of the provincial ombudsperson -- Hassan
People, Aamna is not taking Meesha’s side. She actually knows AZ very well. She is just trying to be fair and bring out both sides of the story
@@Hktj actually Aamna once said that she trusts AZ so much that she can trust her kids with him! So I don’t think she was taking anyone’s side
Maybe Meesha was protesting the legal system or fed up with it, because it felt like the legal system wasn't doing much for her own case, but was calling her for Ali's defamation case.
I’m a feminist and a Meesha fan, but you’re absolutely right, her not appearing in court and not giving reasons is really suspect

A murderer can serve food in deceased house to prove himself innocent...how this can be the only point to acquit all accused?
@@ChargeXL but witness had testified that he saw the accused murder the victim.
Interesting anecdote . Thank for sharing
Totally agreed with Hassan why Meesha and her legal team never came for cross examination they shouldn’t miss any opportunity to talk about their stance good analysis 👍🏻🌺
Aamna did not want to be there hahahah she did this special to make Hassan happy.
100% agree with u
Because Amna wants to blindly side with a woman. Be a feminist. But not at the expense of truth and justice.
Sohail Javed is a harasser .I don't know why Industry defending him .only jami has the guts to speak openly about it
@@adeensyed See if he is a harasser then why it ended up on apology letter by the other party. Truth must be showed to us and unfortunately justice never be served in our country

Huge fan of both Misha Shafi and Ali Zafar. However, that tweet and the way it's worded is extremely suspicious, makes it sound as if the whole thing is a setup.
They both have personal clashes with each other .they both are at fault .none of them is Saint

Hassan forgot to mention that an FIA official was suspended for using Twitter to offer updates on the defamation aspect.
Hassan is not a legal expert. Neither is he a scholar of social justice. He is not fit to comment on such a sensitive issue with the authority of an expert. Clearly, shows his bias against women who take on harassers.
Thank you Hassan for investigating properly this time. Last time I heard your view on this case I was a bit disappointed. Truth will prevail!
First two valid points but the gag order, to my knowledge, doesn't prevent her or her lawyers to talk about facts pertaining to court proceedings
-- Hassan
@@SomethingHaute to my knowledge Nighat Dad and Saqib Jilani asked for more time from the court. And in 2019
Meesha wasn’t in Pakistan due to her immigration.
There is a thing in every competition if opponent d’t show up you get victory doesn’t matter competition was held or not
Ali's behaviour in various shows about the issue has been the behaviour of a typical harasser trying to defend himself by slinging mud in the face of the survivor.

I am not taking any sides because I don't know the facts fully but I do want to point out a few things in your video:
Just my opinion🙂
U guys do a good job so keep doing it.
( look what Happened in Bollywood, they ignored and where do they stand now)
Presenting such a volatile case with so much brevity and balance is undoubtedly a difficult task.
Bravo!
Hassan claims that Meesha does not have any evidence that she was harassed. What evidence does Ali have that he did not harass Meesha?
Amna your hair ❤️💋
I never trusted Misha. Like Come on! She was lovey dovey with him all these years. You people are forgetting one audio call with Misha and a person in Punjabi where he is urging Misha Shafi to keep highlighting this issue. Amna is trying to defend Misha in vain. The thing is, people have seen meesha and Ali grinding on dance floor at parties. They’ve partied together and been friendly. Ali Zafar is very over and has been a creep for a long time. Yes they both are at fault for sure

Couldnt help liking your video...you guys are producing good content and expressing your views very decently .❤❤
Hassan your are so much well informed and you were right at each and every point👌

Dear Hassan and Anna,
I remember reading articles on the whole AZ and Meesha issue, some of the female journalists said that AZ was sexually assaulting women way before, and the industry knew of them. In fact so many women came forward to talk about their experiences but mysteriously disappeared.
Well researched, well executed. Well done you guys! @amna and @hassan.
This was very well presented. You both were neutral and spoke of both sides. Hasaan's research was on point. This is proper journalism. Thank you to you both amazing job
Very detailed information Hassan, you made things clear. Appreciate your work.
Can your cameraman put you both on.the screen at same time rather than.flipping between you two. Just a.suggestion . Love hearing you both talk
Not being mean but I loved the way Hassan pronounced April aprel

One of the most informative shows I have seen in a long time! Thank you Hassan. Kudos to you. 👏👏🙌🙌
Hassan you looking amazing ❤️and you explaining whole case very well 👍👍👍
Good research Hassan Bhai. I love the fact that you guys take this job sooo seriously and never show up unprepared.
So once again, your perspective and other viewers' as well on this matter is most welcome

Why did Ali offer to apologize to Meesha if he had not harassed her? Meesha said he retracted his offer later on. That is typical behaviour of harassers.
But yeah points your raised are valid but still I can’t consume y MEESHA will do it without reason?
There were enough reasons for her to do so.
Good job Hasan, excellence in investigative journalism awarded to you!🏆 👏👏👏
Hahaha thank you!

Hassan, when a harassment suit is rejected and followed by a defamation suit the escalpatory evidence for the harassment is not credited in the defamation suit. So the only choice meesha's legal team is left with is not showing up.
But the harassment suit hasn't been rejected, it's was not heard because it didn't come under the jurisdiction of the provincial ombudsperson
