    I‘m such a „old school“ fan, but I have to say that „amo“ is not as bad as many persons say.
    It gets better every time I hear it.
    It has a definetely a few songs, I can hear over and over again.
    My favourites are „Sugar Honey ice & tea“ and „why you gotta kick me when i’m down?“.
    „In the dark“ is also a quite good songs.
    Amo is really catching me with those lyrics in almost every song.
    I still support BMTH.
    Keep it up.

    I adore this album. I love how diverse it is and how it has so many styles and genres through out. You never know what’s coming next and I love it. It has 3 or 4 heavier songs then a few more alternative/rock songs, a few poppy tracks and a few out there danicer beats. I know some people are hating on but I think this album will go down as a modern classic for its variety and ambition. It really shows how talented bmth are as a band that they can just weave in and out of various genres so seamlessly.

  • @LetsCrashThisParade
    @LetsCrashThisParade 5 ปีที่แล้ว +84

    On a serious note I dont watch many reaction videos on TH-cam, but with you theres something keeping me. You seem to really know what you're talking about, your descriptions of instrumental patterns, melodies and song structures come off as intelligent and its super engaging. Rsther than other reacts where they'll just be like, "wow, this thing is very good." You'll be more like "This thing is very good BECAUSE.." And that distinction is VITAL.
    As for the album, I hated it at first. And was very put off. But I gave it more of a listen, and there's still good stuff there. Now, it's nothing compared to Sempiternal, and some songs sre a crazy waste of space/time. But the gems here like this one are kind of worth it, and when it really comes down to it I still like maybe a good two thirds or so of the album. So those innings aren't THE WORST possible. AND, listening lately this week there are even hints of this progression in their past albums with the electronic sounds and heightened production approach.
    Lastly, that "bridge" part goes for so long because that's the featured artist beat boxing. I guess whoever the guy is who says "its now or never" during the prechorus had to do something other than that and so the long bridge is I dunno... compensation?

    You know it’s funny how my entire life I heard from everyone I knew “metal is weird as fuck, they’re always screaming and shit.” Metal was always marginalized amongst my group of friends and I felt bad because it was not understood. It’s kind of ironic that now the metal heads are the ones marginalizing artists that want to expand their sonic horizons. Perhaps this album is weird, but perhaps it is revolutionizing and ahead of its time. For anyone criticizing “amo” don’t be so close minded, it’s dope as fuck! Great video man!!

  • @skitzy420
    @skitzy420 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I think if they had teased some sort of a breakdown throughout the song then you would expect something big at the end, which is quite detrimental to what the song is about. They do that with beatboxing, though. "You wanna live forever. It's now or never." During those parts you can listen to it in the background and then you can obviously hear it later in the song; I really love how they incorporated it.
    I believe the band was right when they said you need to listen to the album or songs multiple times to catch these little things, that's what makes the album great for me; all the songs have great a replay value.

    Here before the block lol BTW Rahzel is a well known beat boxer that is why the bridge was like that to fit him in.

    This is a bit off-topic, but I had never heard of you, saw this video and I wanted to get some insight on what a metal musician would think. After the video I went to check out your spotify and I have your medicine cover in my playlist since last week.
    Strange coincidence!
    Keep doing what you do because you're doing a good job!

    I knew you'd have something to say about that ending. 😂
    I really like the song "sugar honey ice & tea." You don't have to react to it. But that's my favorite track on the album. It's a ton of fun. You should check it out.

    I think the overly sudden ending was planned. They didn't want to prep you for it, further adding to that fun little "F you". Great review man!

    Hey Nik I just saw them in Orlando this past weekend and I’ve got to say they brought it.
    Funniest parts were when they played the new stuff (which was maybe 3-4 songs max) everyone would just stand around confused.
    Even funnier was a big chunk of people up front knew no lyrics to the sempiternal or that’s the spirit stuff and he kept calling everyone out. Then they try to tried to do a wall of death and no one would participate so he eventually gave up.
    Overall it was an amazing show and I’ve wanting to see them since count your blessings so for me it was worth it regardless of how terrible most of the new stuff is to me.

    The reason they did the bridge so long was because it was a beat boxer and they didnt want to cut him short a spot. I thought it was good but to each their own.

    that's a hot take, i don't think they'll ever go heavier. like it's been a pretty steady progression from heavy to light; i think most people can carve out the portion in their range (mine's there is a hell to that's the spirit). but who knows.

    Hey man, love the reviews! It would be awesome if you did another review after a month or so! I've listened the album 5 or 6 times now, and now i get the mindset of this album, I start to love it more and more, while at first I was as doubtful as you are now. I swear read or watch the track by track interview, listen to it a few more times and react again. This album is a grower, not a shower!

      I got from this song that he was basically just saying that people are upset about them not not really being heavy anymore, and some people keep giving him crap. Tbh I kinda feel bad for Olli. And I’ll be honest, I did like the original stuff and I’m not too much a fan of this new stuff, but I understand what he’s done.
