Jeremy, I've noticed some youtubers teaching your models without your permission and not giving credit. I hope you are aware of this situation. It has been a long time since people have been teaching the models you have designed. I hope you would see this comment.
I’m so sorry to tell you this but your origami models used to be better. Where are the new flashers or more difficult exploding/transforming models? You are also getting less and less views. But you get my respect for still uploading new videos every week.
It isn’t easy to design new origami when you have already designed like a thousand. It becomes hard to look for ideas. It isn’t Jeremy’s fault. He also did a billy box a few weeks ago. That was a really cool model! I didn’t even think it was possible.
I think part of why my long-form videos are getting fewer views is because TH-cam's algorithm directed a large portion of potential viewers to my two viral shorts I uploaded in April 2023. Those two shorts together generated a staggering 24 million views and 155,000 new subscribers. The problem is that shorts views and shorts-generated subscribers seem to stay mostly separate from long-form videos, and, I believe, looking at my analytics, my shorts success has actually detracted from my long-form viewership. If I had it to do over again, I would have made a separate channel for shorts as I now know a lot of top TH-camrs do. I also recognize I haven't spent as much time making cool intros as I used to, and I haven't shown my face in my videos much this year, so that could be a factor. But, in terms of quality of my recent designs, if you actually go through and look at the models I have designed and taught over the last couple years, I think you'll see that there have been some pretty involved, intricate and innovative models: Pool Table, Pixelated Pyramid, Flapping Fly, Snap Shut Tetrahedron, Treble Clef, iPhone Flip Case, One-Piece Glasses, Flasher Sword, Manashita Portrait, Guitar Flicker, Howling Coyote, Octahedral Flasher, 8-pointed Color-Changing Falling Star, 3D Impossible Tribar, Stapler, Snowman Pop-up, Suitcase with Wheels among others. When you add in my roughly 500 model prototypes designed during my members livestreams (10+ per livestream) and my 50 other special for members tutorials, I'm happy with my quality and prolificness of my content over the last two years. And, mind you, I'm also a full-time juggler/entertainer, avid salsa dancer, unicycle basketball player, and I have a private life too, so it's not like TH-cam is my only focus! 🤠
@@jeremyshaferorigami i like this new origami design. it has deep psychological and philosophical enlightenment. All too often we only see half or even less of the real world. we believe what we see and think that's the only one true reality. So what's the color of this origami? from a particular angle, you only see white and while others from a different angle, only see red. Both are true but if they do not talk and try to see from others' perspectives, they will never agree with different opinions and the world hence becomes more divisive. Trying to find the common ground is impossible if stuck in one's own view. This is a simple origami and yet it can already lead to polarization. The real world is way more complicated and multi-facets than this origami. How can people so sure about their own single opinion without taking other possibilities into account? Thank you for developing this design which can be used as a great tool to materialize the polarization.
@@jeremyshaferorigamiThe shorts thing is only a part of the reason though. The other reason why is because if a lot of people are subscribed *with notifications*, if 80% of people aren't checking out the video after they got a notification about it, TH-cam assumes that the video will perform worse so TH-cam just cuts it off from the algorithm.
But this one is simpler to perform since it's a square instead of a hexagon, so the angles required to not accidentally reveal the secret when performing it are easier to calculate.
