Congrats to Matteo Berrettini the deserving champion, but let's get this straight: Hugo Gaston played out of his mind; powerful, fast and precise. The intensity got to him at the end of the first set, but that was a very pleasing level to see. Bravo to both.
Matteo's performace is gradually getting better and better... Thiem, Del Potro and even Nadal weren't so lucky. I hope Berretinni can maintain his level of play and make it to Top 20 atleast, he really deserves after winning 2 titles back to back!!
I dont understand this comparison, Berrettini didnt have a serious injury, but many little and continous to different parts of body. And even Nadal didn have that, so your comparison is not correct. Greetings from Rome Italy

Berrettini was my dark horse in Wimbledon 2024. Too bad he got screwed up by the draw, got scheduled to play world #1 Sinner in the second round. But I will bet my money, Berrettini will get the US OPEN 2024 title.!🎾🏆

Great job, Berrettini, winning two tournaments in a row! Definitely a tough feat. But honestly, let’s remember these are 250-level tournaments. He still has a lot to improve in his game if he wants to compete at the highest levels and on surfaces like clay or hard courts. From the baseline, his shots rarely hurt his opponents; they’re too spin-heavy and too short. And on the return, you can’t just rely on blocked returns. Against big servers, that’s just not enough.
