Congrats to Matteo Berrettini the deserving champion, but let's get this straight: Hugo Gaston played out of his mind; powerful, fast and precise. The intensity got to him at the end of the first set, but that was a very pleasing level to see. Bravo to both.

Great job, Berrettini, winning two tournaments in a row! Definitely a tough feat. But honestly, let’s remember these are 250-level tournaments. He still has a lot to improve in his game if he wants to compete at the highest levels and on surfaces like clay or hard courts. From the baseline, his shots rarely hurt his opponents; they’re too spin-heavy and too short. And on the return, you can’t just rely on blocked returns. Against big servers, that’s just not enough.

@marcodimario9918 On Grass, He definitely proved that he could hang with the top players, and they may be 25p level tournaments, but they were some tough opponents there plus he won here without dropping a set which is impressive in its own right.
Hard courts could be trouble for Matteo as his game doesn't translate well ther hence the lack of results on HC

Gaston is hugely talented but does not have the fitness to deliver his top game for long enough. Great to watch.

Very good of both! Gaston playing seriously aggressive and Berretini much better at defensive....

Currently Matteo is a top ten just retrieving points lost after 2years of absence. He's really beating strong opponents and rising very quickly, unbelievably quickly. He was the same level of Sinner on Wimbledon and although he lost he won more games. If the new body trainings will give him endurance and less injuries he could achieve a lot. Hope so.

Great to see two players that try to win and are not grinders - im loving this post joker/nadal era where they arent all grinders....

Don’t worry, hard court is coming soon, medvedev will be back to fulfill the grinding needs

@turntech4776 nah your right mate- he's technically worse than joker, but he's a very interesting interview, if nothing else.

@@timhutch6980 I love watching medvedev play, only because he, more than the big three even, is the one that makes me amazed when the other guy is able to win a point. There’s something about the medvedev game when it’s working that makes it seem like the other guy is being forced to do something med can do all day, and then when the other guy wins a point it’s very exciting

@turntech4776 can't agree there, he's shocking to watch, his game is to survive, like joker and nadal, only non players like this style as it is talentless. But as a bloke he's brilliant to listen to
