A few tips from a fellow goob 1. You don’t have to worry about most other characters while distracting. Stealth works like a priority system, where the person with the lowest stealth will be the one Twisteds go after. Goob has 2 stealth, so only characters like Shrimpo, Brightney, and I think Vee will take the attention off of Goob and have the twisteds chase them instead. 2. With the dog toy and the running shoes, you can just barely outwalk Toodles and Shelly. 3. You can distract all of the main characters except for Pebble since they’re much faster than you. I recommend keeping at least 1 speed candy (the yellow candy) in your inventory for higher floors in case pebble shows up. 4. Grabbers such as Scraps and Goob CAN be distracted, it’s just incredibly hard. You have to loop them around an obstacle, and bait out their grabs. You can’t usually do this when distracting other Twisteds. 5. In the case of Pebbles, I recommend not distracting at all, and instead listening for the barking. This signifies when Pebbles has locked into a teammate. In this case, run toward the noises, get Pebble away from your teammate and either sprint away or use a speed candy and get behind something. This way, you can still keep Pebble away from your team. A good team should still be able to survive against a grabber or a loose twisted in the case of pebble. I hope this helped, and good luck!!

Here's some tips from someone who mains Goob (they're for Goob users but it also applies to other distractors) : -When using Goob, try to stay in places, usually the furthest from the elevator, that doesn't have toons working on the machines there (either that the machines there are completed, there are uncompleted machines but the toons are doing the other machines or that the place itself is completely devoid of machines). -When someone works on the last machine and says "gte", you should stay at the location that is the furthest from elevator, like that the other toons will not distract the twisteds and if the last one is far away you can always pull them in the elevator with the hug! ability. -As a distractor, your job is to protect extractors, so if you see a twisted chasing a decent/high stealth toon, you can always try to get near the twisted to switch their attention to you (I'm sorry Brightney and Shrimpo users but it's your problem if you get chased, so try to get their attentions off of you in the good old way of hiding in an island). *Twisteds that you should be especially aware of :* -Shrimpo, I know, that sounds ridiculous, but hear me out, he's so slow that if you don't do 180° turns often he can be far from you and that's not good as a distractor. -Teagan and Flutter, same as Shrimpo but this time it's because they're a bit faster than the average Twisted, so try to also do 180° turns sometimes. -Dandy, even though he can oneshot, the problem here is the fact that he's so huge that he takes longer to make turns, making him slower than other Twisted if you use islands to your advantage, so instead of straight up dashing to the next corner, just try to go in a more bow-like direction. -Astro, he acts like the average Twisted exept that he gives tired 3 effect, meaning that your stamina regens much slower, so try using it wisely when around this guy. -Razzle & Dazzle, their zone will prevent you from running, so yeah avoid using it as your 180° turn area. *Twisteds that (usually) aren't worth getting chased by :* -Toodles, even with your speed trinkets, she's still faster than you and therefore she makes you waste some stamina if you want to get chased by her, so try to get her off of you to rest thanks to her Subway Surfer attention span and then when you've recovered enough stamina you can try getting chased again. -Scraps and Goob, they'll be a nightmare for you as a distractor, you really need to use the islands to your advantage to avoid their ranged attacks, as if you don't, well... All I can say is that Twisted Goob's hug is very deadly. -Pebble and Vee, they are both very similar in the fact that you cannot outwalk them, Vee because she can slow you down, and Pebble because he's just that fast, so try only to get their attention when a toon is threatened by their presence. Otherwise, you do not wanna mess with them. *Strategies for Goob :* -The first and most obvious strategy, is the full distractor, meaning that you try to get the attention of every twisteds in the map and distract them, leaving the way free for all extractors to use the machines, it can be very good in earlier floors, not so much in later floors if there are THOSE Twisteds like Toodles, Scraps, Goob, Pebble and Vee. -The second is the partial distractor, meaning that you are distracting some but not all of the Twisteds in the floor, making it much easier to deal with THOSE Twisteds but also leaving them to the extractors who have to be smart in their movement decisions. -The third is the protecting distractor, meaning that you stay near one of your teamate (not Shrimpo, Brightney or Vee, thanks), and your job would be that if a Twisted comes near your teamate you would then distract the Twisteds and bring them away from your teamate, it's probably the hardest of them all, and I haven't used it, but I think it can be useful (and while being near your teamate you can also bring them to the machines thanks to your hug! ability). I guess the fluffy boi really is that complex to learn holy scraps. 0_0
Shrimpo is hard to distract while distracting faster twisteds, but I like to sometimes make a bigger turn (basically have the faster twisted chase directly behind you so shrimpo takes a ‘shortcut’ and catches up).
personally for toodles, when the other set of twisteds are pretty slow, i usually recommend her in long hallways. i personally found out a strategy on how to distract her. basically, when toodles begins to catch up, curve left or right until you're backtracking from where you came from. most accurately, it would construct a thin rectangular shape if the pattern is consistently followed. this will make it so that toodles + any other twisteds behind you pile up altogether and a bit farther behind you. though you do have to do a bow like curve and a bit of stamina, but toodles will be behind enough to make you easily regain it or keep it at a constant if executed wisely. though pebbles? yeah he's a lost cause for me 😭👎
I was Goob playing in a public server with a fellow Goob yesterday, and they had no idea what they were doing. I'll give them props for the fact that they did distract, even if it was only for 4 floors and they always came back with 1 hp. So I was the Goob left with most of the distracting. But this Goob messed up when everyone was doing a Dandy run. Twisted Dandy saw me first so I immediately started distracting Twisted Dandy away from everyone, and the other Goob came up and took the two smaller Twisteds off my back. I thought it was cool that he wanted to split the distracting, but next thing I know he immediately stops distracting the other two twisteds and makes them lose him. Then he keeps coming up to me to steal Twisted Dandy's attention. I had to constantly keep grabbing Twisted Dandy's attention away from him, because he had distracted on past floors but he always put people in danger and I didn't want to take that risk with Twisted Dandy. But eventually he did manage to take Twisted Dandy away from me right as the elevator doors opened, then he immediately brings Twisted Dandy TO THE ELEVATOR when people were still trying to get there. I almost didn't make it into the elevator because Twisted Dandy was blocking the elevator due to the other Goob's mistake. Luckily for me there was a Twisted Shrimpo and I purposefully let him hit me so I can gain invisibility frames from it, then I ran though Twisted Dandy and got into the elevator since he couldn't hit me due to me being on cool down for being attacked. I grabbed someone from the distance and pulled them into the elevator as the other Goob didn't attempt to help anyone with his ability despite me knowing he isn't on cooldown since he never grabbed anyone. I was only able to save a Vee before the elevator shut and killed half the team that couldn't get into the elevator due to Twisted Dandy blocking the elevator. (Before anyone asks I would've tried distracting Twisted Dandy away from the elevator, but It was a very cramped space and the timer was below 10 seconds by the time I could even see the elevator.) Please learn from this Goob's mistakes, don't lead twisteds to the elevator unless you know everyone is inside and safe.
If you wanna get better at distracting for mains Astro : ez as hell just do the same things for poppy’s except sometimes sprint Vee : ez also but just sprint when slowed down Pebble : Can’t outrun or else death. Sometimes hide then get back to distracting
here are some extra tips for distracting to learn more 1. items are optional but if you want to use some, the best are pop/bottle of pop, airhorn, and chocolate (based on my experience) 2. trinkets are a MUST, the best combos you could use are dog plush/speedy shoes, dog plush/veemote (only works good for pebble), speedy shoes or replace with dog plush/pink bow, dog plush or replace with speedy shoes/ribbon spool 3. watch out for these twisteds.. they could be seriously dangerous! - twisted pebble - twisted scraps - twisted goob - twisted vee (may be dangerous in a swarm of fast twisteds but depends) - twisted toodles - twisted sprout (also depends if your in a small spaced map) 4. distracting places are important, here are the best places to distract at which are broken ele, finished machines area, or a big spaced area where no one goes to if there's a machine at your place like at broken ele you should let a higher stealth toon do it or move places if there's no higher stealth toon in your team that's all my extra tips gl on distracting!
Agree once I was in a round with a poppy and they literally was just following me and went in front of the twisted which switch their target and I took dmg when I tried to get the attention back to me
Goob has two stealth, if a twisted is aggro’d on you as goob, they won’t target anybody that has equal or less stealth, which very few toons have. The poppies and Tisha’s that ran in front of you couldn’t get hit even if they tried.
It's best to have at least one extra distractor, preferably a Pebble. Pebble isn't the best at general distracting but he can distract a Twisted Pebb easily, leaving Goob to distract the other Twisteds, also you can break them up into more manageable chunks.
im a beginner, but here are some twisteds on for Pebble that i learned! 1. distract but dont just run, run a bit in circles with a wide place so he doesnt get to u and u have some distance 2. NEVER use all ur speed / stamina u dont know if u need it later 3. make sure no one's around so he doesnt switch targets, try to focus on his movements so u can predict the ways hes going at times 4. hes faster than Goob so just distract, lose him for a few seconds till ur stamina is full and then distract again ( not included with Pebble ) 5. keep ur mind on all the toons, that way u can let them all inside the elevator before u go in so just distract a bit more until everyone is in 6. just grab speedy items and health care items, it could really help but if u know someone needs it then tell the chat + the location and go another way so the twisteds dont go for them and kill them. 7. don't just go to places, instead go in a obvious spot where anyone can see u so they know not to go ur way 8. i ran out, but if u find this comment and u want more tips ill make sure to find some just please remind me somehow. thanks for reading!
When distracting Twisteds and another player gets in your way, the twisteds are more likely to ignore them if they are already on you or the opposing toon has a higher stealth rating than you. Still isn’t 100% fool proof
For Pebble, you should try finding boxes and loop around them, walking at first, but then sprinting at the turns, and repeat that cycle so you keep distance from him.
Just so u know, goob has 2 star stealth, meaning anyone with 3 star stealth or more will not steal the twisteds, only if u do a turn in some place and the twisteds dont see u for a sec, they will start running for other toons, so try to just walk in circles if u can
U can also click T to know ur toons stats, but more easily im gonna explain what each stat is for each star level 1 star:stealth 0, speed 10 walking 20 running, stamina 100, extraction speed 0.75, skill check size i dont actually know lol 2 star:stealth 5, speed 12,50 walking 22,50 running, stamina 125,extraction speed 0.85, skill check size 100 3 star: stealth 10, speed 15 walking 25 running, stamina 150, extraction speed 1.00, skill check size 150 4 star: stealth 15, speed 17,50 walking 27,50 running, stamina 175, extraction speed 1.20, skill check size 200 5 star: stealth 20, speed 20 walking 30 running, stamina 200, extraction speed 1.50, skill check size 250 The skill check size one i do t really know if its correct, since i dont check it much, but i think it is
However if the Twisted doesn't see you and has to resort to its attention span to find you, well if there's another toon nearby they're gonna target them instead of you no matter what. So yeah be careful about this.
When goobs say they will "kite" dont trust them they WILL LITERALLY DO NOTHING BUT HIDE UNTILL THEY'RE WHOLE TEAM IS KILLED THEN THEY DISTRACT FOR NO ONE
just fail extracting machines to distract pebble (fail it and hide) ask the extractors to let u use it and when u distract enough its gonna be completed anyway
I would say don’t even try distracting twisted pebble and just keep an eye on them and if they see someone get them away and get their agro off that’s what I do when I play goob or pebble
what’s horrible is when a brightney pulls up and steals all goobs twisteds, like come on bro, find your own darn twisteds. it’s hella annoying though because that brightney tryna get them off their tail, but due to her low stealth, they all just go running to her, you know what they say, a bright attitude really attracts attention!
Hii!! Ik this is 2 months but i wanna give a tip for u!! For distracting toodles and gigi you just go around a obstacle while being chased since all normal toons r easyy to distract! For the crraft siblings, u usually have to go around a obstacle whhile being chased, when goob grabs go on the other side of the obstacle, for scraps you go on the other side so she wont hit u also u can tell she will use the ability when she stops chasing and stands, both use ability every 8 seconds. For mains its hard but you will need a person as astro near u or good items like box of chocolate,speed candy, and bottle o pop for the mains vee, because she has the ability to make u slow just like finn and she can kill u easily after you will have too stay near a obstacle to. Astro's speed is now 19 in the last new updt, but he is still alr to distract just go in circles near obstacles samee with shelly, for pebbles you have to go in circles near a crate(box) because he will slow down when chasing you. For dandy hees slow but dont tryy to juke him, hitbox might occur and you can die since hes one shotted alr, so be careful and use all ur stam when panic mode. Thats all bai!!^-^
3:20 I recommend playing more as a support role when it comes to pebble (because goob can also be a support due to his ability) How it works: If someone is getting chased by Pebble, use your ability to drag the player towards you. Then steal Pebble from them (most toons have 3 star stealth) And run around boxes until you lose Pebble
Tip for distracting pebbles:ok so find a loop and loop pebbles around it if u feel like hes gonna catch up sprint JUST A LITTLE to keep ur stamina then repeat if he happens to get off you aggro him again thats all I have!
The thing that pisses me off the most when distracting are the people who dont get the idea of staying away from someone distracting like the amount of times of either died or gotten hit all because someone decides to mess up the chain i got going on like ARE U SERIOUS
I don't have Goob yet, but personally I think the easiest way to get better at distracting as him is to play privately and figure out your limits in order to make it easier in a public server if they ask you to distract. That's what I plan on doing, 'cause I'm not trying to get yelled at for not being a good distractor 😭
How to distract Twisted Scraps or Twisted Goob while using Goob This method is mostly recommended when there is more than one distractor. For this sake, I'm gonna use Twisted Scraps as an example. Basically what you do is, is you stalk Scraps and stick near objects that you can quickly hide behind. Then, to distract them, you run towards them to gain their attention on you, then you quickly hide behind an object. This is so that when Scraps reaches her tail near you, she won't be able to pull you through a solid object. So pretty much do a fakeout to distract them. And you might need to loop around the object to get them off your tail. The reason why this method is better when there is more than one distractor, is because one person can distract Scraps or Goob, while the other can distract the other twisteds. (And btw, if anybody wants to know how you survive a map with Scraps or Goob, while playing solo... Just avoid them altogether, ezy. But seriously, keeping track of their location is really important because then you have an idea of where they are and where they could come from.) And if you're stuck with both Goob and Scraps, you're screwed ;)

the trinkets i used is dog plush and ribbon spool becuase both of them are 10% walkspeed boosts and u can out walk anyone with those trinkets and u can outwalk toodles, flutter in even floors (2 - 4 - 6 like that type of thing)
My favorite distractor is goob. I feel like goob is the best distractor with his 2 stealth and so you can attach your loyal fans to you very easy. 👍 also ive distracted shelly sprout and vee with goob. Save to say hes the best-

Never try too distract pebble with commons. I only distract to have everyone’s life in my hands (it’s actually just to help the team cause everyone will die if there’s no distractor)

in my opinion its shrimpo because they are too slow to get out of the way and their stealth is SO low that the twisteds immediately charge towards him

Erm actually i got twisted pebble and twisted vee as poppy
Goob has two stealth, if a twisted is aggro’d on you as goob, they won’t target anybody that has equal or less stealth, which very few toons have. The poppies and Tisha’s that ran in front of you couldn’t get hit even if they tried.
lemme correct a bit of this: Goob does have 2 stealth, any other toon with 2 stealth wont be targetted by the twisteds unless they are closer to them

For example, Brightney and Shrimpo have 1 steakth which is lesser than Goob, so they will get targeted if the twisteds are near
just so people know, while rounding corners if kiting then twisted can lock on to someone else. stay safe if your distractor is kiting!
Tisha, flutter, and goob are elite distractors. you can’t change my mind. (edit:I know I forgot pebbles so stop yapping.)

It's best to have at least one extra distractor, preferably a Pebble. Pebble isn't the best at general distracting but he can distract a Twisted Pebb easily, leaving Goob to distract the other Twisteds, also you can break them up into more manageable chunks.
My goob tips
1. You have the trinkets done
2. Walk in a circle in a big room
3. When you in the elevator grab the last toon or the toon in danger
Pebble and Goob are such goats when it comes to distracting! It isn't for the weak tho.
tip for distracting: circle around a small vacant area that no one goes to, make sure their are no extractors near there too
im a beginner, but here are some twisteds on for Pebble that i learned!
1. distract but dont just run, run a bit in circles with a wide place so he doesnt get to u and u have some distance
2. NEVER use all ur speed / stamina u dont know if u need it later
3. make sure no one's around so he doesnt switch targets, try to focus on his movements so u can predict the ways hes going at times
4. hes faster than Goob so just distract, lose him for a few seconds till ur stamina is full and then distract again
( not included with Pebble )
5. keep ur mind on all the toons, that way u can let them all inside the elevator before u go in so just distract a bit more until everyone is in
6. just grab speedy items and health care items, it could really help but if u know someone needs it then tell the chat + the location and go another way so the twisteds dont go for them and kill them.
7. don't just go to places, instead go in a obvious spot where anyone can see u so they know not to go ur way

When distracting Twisteds and another player gets in your way, the twisteds are more likely to ignore them if they are already on you or the opposing toon has a higher stealth rating than you. Still isn’t 100% fool proof

For Pebble, you should try finding boxes and loop around them, walking at first, but then sprinting at the turns, and repeat that cycle so you keep distance from him.
Just so u know, goob has 2 star stealth, meaning anyone with 3 star stealth or more will not steal the twisteds, only if u do a turn in some place and the twisteds dont see u for a sec, they will start running for other toons, so try to just walk in circles if u can
U can also click T to know ur toons stats, but more easily im gonna explain what each stat is for each star level
1 star:stealth 0, speed 10 walking 20 running, stamina 100, extraction speed 0.75, skill check size i dont actually know lol
2 star:stealth 5, speed 12,50 walking 22,50 running, stamina 125,extraction speed 0.85, skill check size 100
3 star: stealth 10, speed 15 walking 25 running, stamina 150, extraction speed 1.00, skill check size 150
4 star: stealth 15, speed 17,50 walking 27,50 running, stamina 175, extraction speed 1.20, skill check size 200
5 star: stealth 20, speed 20 walking 30 running, stamina 200, extraction speed 1.50, skill check size 250
The skill check size one i do t really know if its correct, since i dont check it much, but i think it is
They also dont hurt others toons as longs their stealth is higher than 2

However if the Twisted doesn't see you and has to resort to its attention span to find you, well if there's another toon nearby they're gonna target them instead of you no matter what.

I would say don’t even try distracting twisted pebble and just keep an eye on them and if they see someone get them away and get their agro off that’s what I do when I play goob or pebble

what’s horrible is when a brightney pulls up and steals all goobs twisteds, like come on bro, find your own darn twisteds. it’s hella annoying though because that brightney tryna get them off their tail, but due to her low stealth, they all just go running to her, you know what they say, a bright attitude really attracts attention!
Dogplush and ribbon spool can make you be able to distract twisted toodles on even floors.

Hii!! Ik this is 2 months but i wanna give a tip for u!! For distracting toodles and gigi you just go around a obstacle while being chased since all normal toons r easyy to distract! For the crraft siblings, u usually have to go around a obstacle whhile being chased, when goob grabs go on the other side of the obstacle, for scraps you go on the other side so she wont hit u also u can tell she will use the ability when she stops chasing and stands, both use ability every 8 seconds. For mains its hard but you will need a person as astro near u or good items like box of chocolate,speed candy, and bottle o pop for the mains vee, because she has the ability to make u slow just like finn and she can kill u easily after you will have too stay near a obstacle to. Astro's speed is now 19 in the last new updt, but he is still alr to distract just go in circles near obstacles samee with shelly, for pebbles you have to go in circles near a crate(box) because he will slow down when chasing you. For dandy hees slow but dont tryy to juke him, hitbox might occur and you can die since hes one shotted alr, so be careful and use all ur stam when panic mode. Thats all bai!!^-^

3:20 I recommend playing more as a support role when it comes to pebble (because goob can also be a support due to his ability)
How it works:
If someone is getting chased by Pebble, use your ability to drag the player towards you. Then steal Pebble from them (most toons have 3 star stealth) And run around boxes until you lose Pebble

I don't have Goob yet, but personally I think the easiest way to get better at distracting as him is to play privately and figure out your limits in order to make it easier in a public server if they ask you to distract. That's what I plan on doing, 'cause I'm not trying to get yelled at for not being a good distractor 😭

How to distract Twisted Scraps or Twisted Goob while using Goob
This method is mostly recommended when there is more than one distractor. For this sake, I'm gonna use Twisted Scraps as an example. Basically what you do is, is you stalk Scraps and stick near objects that you can quickly hide behind. Then, to distract them, you run towards them to gain their attention on you, then you quickly hide behind an object. This is so that when Scraps reaches her tail near you, she won't be able to pull you through a solid object. So pretty much do a fakeout to distract them. And you might need to loop around the object to get them off your tail.
The reason why this method is better when there is more than one distractor, is because one person can distract Scraps or Goob, while the other can distract the other twisteds.
(And btw, if anybody wants to know how you survive a map with Scraps or Goob, while playing solo... Just avoid them altogether, ezy. But seriously, keeping track of their location is really important because then you have an idea of where they are and where they could come from.)
And if you're stuck with both Goob and Scraps, you're screwed ;)

becuase both of them are 10% walkspeed boosts and u can out walk anyone with those trinkets and u can outwalk toodles, flutter in even floors

Goob has bad stealth so most of the times if some one walks in your way while distracting (as goob), the twisteds will stay on you (MOST OF THE TIME)

Stealth doesn't matter much since you most of the time avoid the distractor and it's easy to bring the twisteds back to the distractor

Never try too distract pebble with commons. I only distract to have everyone’s life in my hands (it’s actually just to help the team cause everyone will die if there’s no distractor)

I use goob to distract (for research purposes) and i can say with confidence, i HATE. DESPISE. Distracting goob, scraps, toodles and pebbles. Sometimes even Vee. Have fun to those who are new and wanna distract, might wanna watch out for these
