Based on my experiences, if it's HG (1/144), Bandai(Original) is usually a better choice. You need good snapfits for those smaller parts. For MG, if you're experienced, you can work on many 3rd party disadvantages because of bigger parts, and sometimes you'll get better looking ones (Dragon Momoko Wing series, Destiny, Daban's Freedom & Strike Freedom). They sometimes model it from Metal Build. RG? No 3rd party can copy that yet :)
I feel like sometime bootleg are somewhat necessary when it come to bandai just leaving the open hand into a option set. And said set is aren't reprinted *looking at you ibo option set* Also kitbashing potential.
My girlfriend Buyed for me the XingDong aerial, it's my first Gundam toy and most of the things are true, the ball joint details specially but after all, I'm so glad that she spent that money, I'll apreciate for all my life this gift, and doesn't matter if I buy a better Quality aerial (the full mechanics or the Bandai original) I'll have the XingDong at his side, because it's a really good alternative, maybe after buying another aerial I'll try to sand and fix the little details with this one, but now, I'm happy and enjoying a lot my first gundam :3
@@mdebox I have a little question, is there any solution for the loose ball joints? Specially in the hands? it's a bit stressfull when i'm triying to pose the hand with the gun and just falls down or pops out with a lot of ease 😅
If you want a full experience, go for the Bandai If you just want a display model, go for the Xingdong If you want something to play around, go for the GaoGao(warning: only take this route if you are experienced with bootlegs). Tbh, TThongli did make a progress with this line, their plastic is not as thicc and britle as before. However, this is still a product of TThongli, so you still need skill and knowledge to deal with it. Just be careful and it'll be good to go.
My guy do you have a vid for the bocmx arts for xindong and gaogao? Ive been looking for the xindong variant but i think all ive been seeing in the gaogao(?) Im not quite sure if what im looking at is xindong
those elbows are scaring me on how fragile they are they couldve went with the HG strike elbows but instead all the pressure is being carried by a fragile plastic
Yeah , too much playing with this kit especially in arms may broke those elbow joints, i sanded a little bit to make the elbow bendable with less stress on the joint
I tried them Gaogao: claim they're super cheap for what they offer. Truth? Not one bit! Quality is worse than HG, but you can get old HG for the same price if not less. Bandai: definitely not cheap, especially if you must import them like me from third party stores. Newer kits are praised but I couldn't afford one yet. RG Epyon is on my mind. Xingdong: Got me suspicious it was authorised for a bit. If it's all you can afford, get it. Not great, but very reasonable price for quality.
@@mdebox thanks! I was planning to buy a custom lfrith (bandai) and was checking out if I could get an extra weapon set from a knockoff aerial haha thanks for the video dude!
for overall experience go for bandai , but if your a 1st time bootleg buyer just manage your expectation about the kit from build, details, playability , extra effort is also needed but not in all cases.
Depends on where you live. If you can get the bandai for a reasonable price then go for it. However if it is constantly selling at 2x the srp on your area (like where i live) then go for the gaogao instead. For context, Gaogao aerial (without the mirasoul flight unit) costs around $4 here while the bandai sells for $20. I built 2 of the gaogao ver and they were solid as a rock. Build experience was smooth as butter too.

I just bought the Gaogao one yesterday. TWFM is the first Gundam anime I've watch and I've always wanted to have a Aerial. The Bandai HG Aerial was too expensive for me, and I waited so long for a bootleg version of it. And I finally got my hand to it. The first time building a gundam is a wonderful experience. The god damn head is too tight, I had to sand it a lot, and the yellow part of the head left out a plenty of space. The body part was better, but the legs were a disaster. The knee joints were super tight, so when I realized I flipped the knee, it was so mess up. Took me 1 hour to tear them apart only to realize that the calfs were still flipped . I thought I have to tear them again, 2 hours of trying in vain until I finally realized I can just flip it over. The stickers are suck. Wrong size and not even stick to the plastic. But when I finally assembled them, my heart was filled with joy. Glad that my first Gundam building experience was so fun with a cheap bootleg.
Gaogao suck. Xingdong is ok-ish. HG 1/44 originals are best. I do believe Xingdong can accent the details so they could seem compelling but they might need gluing some loose clips.
If you want a proper HG Aerial someday especially if u live in the Philippines I'd recommend saving for HG Bandai Aerial that is sold at a mall or hobby store coz on online stores it's rare to come across a 900 php aerial
the HG is already so dirt cheap, only $8-9. Why would anyone buy a bootleg? If not for being scammed or buy by mistake. The GaoGao plastic just looks horrible.
Bootlegs are for cheap fake people that probably wear knockoff sneakers and clothing. If you want Bandai to make new kits, buy Bandai!! Because these bootleggers aren't going to create new kits for you.

Very much my exact thoughts
Xingdong is 90% close to Bandai. Only clear parts are downside.
Great for kitbash.
And the chin part 😅
That's all we want to know.
Thanks for your sacrificed bro.
Thank you!
Daban includes the backpack, but maybe its similar to gaogao
Daban or xingdong?
My opinion on bootleg Gunpla, they would be better used bootleg kits as spare parts for your Bandai kit.

some parts with xingdong , some other parts for gaogao , but for plastic i prefer xingdong ,

between the two bootlegs, which has the better beam saber and beaf rifle effect parts?
It’s almost the same but xingdong has a softer plastic than gaogao
