Just saw Jessica Vosks show last Friday! I got to meet her and told her she was my favorite elphaba, and I’ve seen wicked 8 times! Her voice was made for this role. I can’t believe she was sitting in her cubicle in finance with this outstanding talent.
the beauty of her performance is she really commits to not belting completely until the very end of the song, which is exactly why stephen schwartz wrote the song. she approaches every note before the very end with such a light touch. it's such impressive vocal control.
I still can’t believe I got to see her on tour before she moved to Broadway. I’d never heard of her before and my only prior experience was the og cast album. It was amazing when I heard Jessica sing, she has one of the greatest voices I’ve ever heard

What’s insane to me is Jessica Vosk was just working a “normal” job (on wallstreet I’m pretty sure) and then got bored and was like I’m gonna go back into the theater and then was Elphaba on Broadway. Insane
I've always loved the way she goes "And it's true the vision's hazy." She lets it sound natural, and the breathiness of that last note lends her Elphaba a vulnerable sort of sweetness.
HONESTLY the Tour Orchestra is unbelievable. You hear every instrument so well and the drums is amazing, literally the best I've ever heard playing the Wicked Score.

Too afraid to say this on the movie reviews. But I didn’t like the arrangement they did of the wizard and I in the film. This is favorite song in the musical, because it’s so powerful, but it’s eh! In the film.

Just asking, what specifically did you dislike about the movies version? I hated the mixing with the physical soundtrack but i thought Cynthias performace in the actual film was phenomenal
I dislike how Cynthia drops a lot of words at the end of sentences or thoughts which don’t emphasize the emotion the lyric is trying to convey. Other than that I think it’s a good version and I like how it’s not as rushed but this purely vocal performance is goated.
