    I used Chat GTP for a beer by giving it all my spare ingredients i had laying around. It came up ironically with Belgium Dubbel (ironic because I've never made anything like that). I messed up the water quantity a little (of course) but made a great beer. Yes this was version 3.5 so will be interested in 4.0 which I've just got

    Weizenbock needs more exposure in America. Such a wonderful beer.

      If you can get the dark Weizenbock from Brauerei Plank out of Germany go for it! (BUnited sells this out of Connecticut I think)
      Well I'm a little biased because I made those beers with my brewmaster :)

    Very cool, but I don't think Chat GPT can beat Matthew Herrold. When he develops recipes, he weighs new trends VS historical standards. He considers every tiny detail. He understands all the small nuisances and doesn't miss a beat. Love the idea of Chat GPT making good recipes, but the experiment is akin to a 'meh' chess computer being pitted against Magnus Carlsson.

    How about 99 beer recipes by ChatGPT-4 ... I started brewing because of your channel and followed regularly. I somehow got stuck in the German Styles but love your show. 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸

    I actually always have the same conversion problem with wheat-heavy beers. Any ideas why that might be or how to change that? Simply mashing longer?

    • @JohnL9013
      @JohnL9013 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it's because the diastatic power of the wheat malt is often poor even though it shouldn't be on paper. I've noticed a big difference in conversion rate between, say, Rahr and Briess's white wheat. Any way, I mash all my wheat beers for 75-80 minutes at a minimum at the saccharification step at this point.

    Super interested in this. I used ChatGPT to create a Pale Ale that is in the fermenter and I am curious to see how it will taste. The recipe it generated looked accurate, so I'll see how it tastes.

    Awesome stuff.. What I find is a nice little trick with ChatGPT is to after it's given you a response that you ask it something like "Does your answer above truely answer the question I provided?" and then site the question a second time.

    It’s strange/interesting that chatgt recommended a protein rest with a single saccharification rest.

    • @JohnL9013
      @JohnL9013 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why's that? I've not really noticed any difference between a hochkurz vs single saccharification step on my system at least.

    I made an Schneider Aventinus clone, self developed. Turned out fantastic, great beer style then I tried an American hops variant, not very good at all.

    Protein Rest. Breaking down starches?;) If you have problems with wheat heavy beers converting. Just buy some thermal stable alpha amylase. Most breweries do this anyway

  • @derDKP

    Using glass to pour your ingredients in is risky. Hit the hop spider wrong and you have a glass addition.
    Would really recommend eliminating glass from the brewery as much as possible.

    • @Margarinetaylorgrease
      @Margarinetaylorgrease ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don’t worry, glass doesn’t ferment.

    • @Margarinetaylorgrease
      @Margarinetaylorgrease ปีที่แล้ว

      Also it falls to the bottom and even if it happened over the fermenter it gets covered by yeast.
      Other than that, I agree

      @@poisonpotato1 I don't put glass bottles over the whole batch. If one glass bottle breaks, you lose one beer. But if you shatter a glass cup over your boil... Dump
