    Thank you, thank you for making this knot tutorial video. I have wanted to learn to tire a loop knot for the longest time and this really helped make it easier. Also the uni knot to a hook or lure. I have been using the Palomar knot for a while now. It works great for lures and hooks like you demonstrated here. Plus it's a good knot for drop shots. I use the double uni to tie braid to mono or floro. Works great. I appreciate the slow, easy pace you went on too. Great video! Again thank you,

    Everything I hope to get from a knot tying video. Excellent closeup focused camera work, no distracting background noise or music, slow pace with pauses to see the important points in forming the knot. For those that think your voice is to soft and quiet, I disagree. Try listening to one of those Ol’ one-eyed Captain Jack characters which compensate for their hearing loss by cranking up the volume on their raspy gruntings.

    Kinda' late to this video, but it is excellent! Great background with contrasting line, clear instructions, and nice technique. Thanks.

      Never heard of that knot may have to research it and try it. I've never had an issue with loop knots coming apart or breaking. I'll check it out thanks

    How would double or triple the number of loop lines through the hook eye when tying the LOOP Knot?

    Nice video. I noticed you put the line into the hook from back to front. So do I. Do you do it on purpose or does it not even matter?

    • @TwinHooksOutdoors
      @TwinHooksOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's superstition.. the reason why I do it that way.

    never seen a loop knot like that , usually i just double the line and make 2 or 3 over hands with it ,simple

    Thanks Twin Hooks. Not fishing here, but setting up a 3-D deer fence. The plan is to string Dorisea 300lb 8 strand braid thru a blue pennant banner string, and anchor each end of the line to bungee cord tie downs. Which of the 3 knots would you recommend as an attachment to a carabiner clip? Which is the strongest?

    • @TwinHooksOutdoors
      @TwinHooksOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh wow I would not even try to lie and say I know what knot is best in this scenario but all I'll say is a loop knot has never failed me ... however for something like this I would either use a uniknot with a 2 half hitch knots below it to act as a stop for any slipping. Or you can go for a Palomar knot as well I would try the Palomar and if the braid is too thick to work the knot tight I would def go with the uni. This is of course if you want a knot that is tight on the carabiner clip if you want it to be a knot that leaves space then you can use a loop knot. I'm curious to know how it ends up let me know hit me up on Instagram I'm quicker to answer on there

      @@TwinHooksOutdoors Thanks for the quick response. I'll answer here so that anyone following can chime in. Per usual I'm overthinking the project to the point that nothing gets done. The goal is a visible, moving 63' line of blue pennant flags that I can put up in the evening and take down in the morning. It will run parallel to a 4' residential fence for the 3-D effect. Blue, because deer see this color well. There are YT videos on 3-D deer fence if you're interested.

    How big of fish have you caught with the loop knot? I fish for sturgeon and been thinking about trying this for a better chance of getting a hook set?

    • @TwinHooksOutdoors
      @TwinHooksOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use the loop knot for everything artificial for the action and the biggest fish I have landed using the loop knot was a 36 inch red on 30lbs mono leader she was 15 pounds. I have caught jacks, bluefish, snook all using the same loop knot I always recommend it.

    you should instead be using a uni snell knot on circle hooks for them to work properly i hope you know that

  • @texbell68
    @texbell68 ปีที่แล้ว

    what i do with the uni-knot is put a drop of super glue on the not

    • @TwinHooksOutdoors
      @TwinHooksOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Superglue I feel can compromise the line and harden it which could make it lose the stretch and make it brittle

    • @TwinHooksOutdoors
      @TwinHooksOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      It may not even be an issue but my irrational fear of it making the line brittle won't allow me to be confident with it
