  • Bishop's Castle is a small market town in Shropshire, between Ludlow and Shrewsbury. To the east and between Craven Arms and Church Stretton is the Long Mynd, great for walking and views towards Wales. If walking and real ale tick some of your boxes then Bishop's Castle will do. The Tree Tuns Brewery situated in Salop Street was first opened in 1642 and is is an tourist destination attracting a lot of visitors affectionately known as "Tuns Pilgrims"

Visited in 2019. Beautiful town. Spent a night at the Crown & Anchor Vaults where some of the best musicians in the UK come to jam. Amazing music. Brewery, pubs, restaurants, and of course the usual touristy castle hopping nearby made for a great trip. Our hosts were delightful. I hope to return.

Hi Bill, we have been travelling up to Bishops Castle from Somerset for a good number of years now. We discovered it whilst on a trip up to North Wales. Yes the town is a pure joy and so well placed for the Long Mynd, Shropshire and of course Wales. Best Regards Pete
