After reading all the comments I've come to the conclusion that Erica is hallucinating and in fact is the real killer. Remember the line "It was always you Erica".
Let's be honest: what is the point of this story? It talks about Erica's father and Mr. Flowers wanting to see the future and change it, but you don't see anything of that in the entire game. Even if Erica accepts her fate as a "butterfly", I as a player have no idea what that means for her. Can she see or change the future now? Will she be abused to do so? If so, by whom? Who is actually pursuing which motives? What exactly does Mr. Flowers want from her? Or Mrs. Greene? I just don't see a concrete thread here but something always metaphorical which is simply never explained and leaves the game relatively meaningless.
I actually liked the ending. It’s open. At the end, Erica was really sane or mad? The delphi house was really an ritualistic cult or it’s all in your head?
It would have been nice to know if all that shit was really going on though. I just finished it and I feel a bit conned by the ending. Was it real? I feel like it was since the medallions opened the secret doors. But why were they doing it? Why did all the patients have the same dreams and get nosebleeds? Why did the Police Chief give them his daughter and why did he have a medallion for the secret doors? Just what exactly was it that these people were all in on? Why would they come up with some interesting questions but not even attempt to answer them? Are the just gonna fob it all off with ohh maybe it's in her head? That's just lazy writing. I liked the game until the end. Watching this video made it worse because I probably got the best ending as well. So its not like I missed where anything got explained.

Erica is not insane since you know lucient and his drug isnt helping these people... dont know what he's doing, but its not for the good of mankind. Also experiencing the drug for herself after hearing what the others speak of it, you know somethings up.

living alone and having father murdered so brutally. perhaps Erica created this story as manifestations to cope with the loss of her father and traumatic childhood. with the priestess story so heavily etched in her and the butterfly mark her father stitched in her brain. it’s unlikely that into adulthood she would link that butterfly as some sort of “chosen one” theory to make do with the craziness at Delphi house

After 8 runs and the platinum, I still have no idea what to make of the story. So many questions are still left unanswered. Is Greene even real (it's you Erica... it's always been you) ? Why did Erica have that stomach injury ? Was Erica hallucinating the whole time .. or only during those segments where she inhales / ingests oleander ? Did Erica kill Johar, Steinbeck, Caulker and Blake while she was hallucinating ? And what's up with all the animals ? Is Greene the fox ? Is Kirstie the rabbit.. or is Caulker ? Who is the deer and fox ? ... Hannah and Tobi ? Why did they cut open Hannah's head ? What did Caulker want to 'talk' about ? Who broke the tape in Kirstie's room ? These are just some of the stuff I couldn't figure out. You really need to pay attention if you want to understand anything. Most of the story is left ambiguous, so it's really up to the player to make sense of it all. All testaments to Erica's mostly strong storytelling.
My interpretation is that Erica was the killer, but I didn't know that the first playthrough though thinking through, yeah she was psychotic the whole time...

After seeing all the endings and who can understand, these are multi-interpretive ends, where nothing is proven about what is going on, that is, Erica may have gone insane, choosing to receive treatment of her own accord or by force.Or the 3 girls are crazy and were making up all these things. Or Erica's family was architecting the whole plan of fortune and power indeed. The end is up to you.
There's too much evidence to suggest the girls were crazy. How about the letter in Karl Steinbeck's typewriter addressed to Tobi's parents informing them of her passing, the night before we meet her? How about the documents for the 3 girls in the botany lab - all 24 years old, with notes about their 'purity' ratings?
I've enjoyed playing this game and reading up about it, had 4 run throughs myself and seen a lot of extra scenes online. Spoiler alert! Usually this kind game has good endings and bad endings, in games like until dawn and detroit you're trying to keep everyone alive, wheras in this game I don't think there were good or bad endings, it's just trying to get the full story of whats going on from the info you're given, which I like. Very good acting and story flows well no matter what options you choose. I found the touchscreen a bit difficult to control at times but on the whole the game was made very well. There were a few plot-holes like why would a detective send Erica to a mental house where both her parents worked? If Greene was dead all along how did she get a gun? And a lot of unanswered questions, Why did Erica's dad die? What was the bruise in the mirror? What were all the codes? Why all the foxes? Overall I enjoyed playing it, I think the endings could have been a bit clearer and in games like this you should be able to skip through to scenes once you've played it a few times. But it's a very good game. Great price too considering the cost that must have gone into it. Now i'm going to try the complex.
Good points the bruise is never explained. The foxes showing up everywhere is never explained, only that Mia wears a fox mask in the start so maybe she used to be a fox member of the cult before she turned on them, but hat doesn't explain why there are real foxes everywhere even in her house. Also even if you avoid every way of getting drugged (which there's a lot), you still end up drugged , aka dreaming of petals regardless. Also does she get arrested? What about in happy family wtf happens, do they make her the butterfly? Do they sweep her murders under the rug if there was no cult? I'm upset that the game designers say "you must see it all to understand it", but actually they don't include all the info on purpose cause it's one of those "draw your own conclusions" type game. There are arguments that could be made that she was just crazy or that there was a cult. Imo it's impossible for her to just be crazy. The Greek symbolism of the cult of Delphi is everywhere. Also the secret tunnels are real, the mural, the keys using the Delphi symbols are real, the masks are real, this isn't normal behavior. also she didn't know about any of this before hand so she couldn't make it up. Like why would she carve the symbol into her own dad? Symbol wouldn't mean anything to her. plus she doesn't have a gun. How'd she get the hand at her door also if she was crazy? Why are all the girls dying in the same way? Why are petals in the girls box, and her toe, and they're all having the same petals dream? Whyd she wake up outside after going to sleep elsewhere? You have to ignore so much info and write off everything we see as a delusion for it to be even remotely possible that she was just crazy.
Tobi said that no one was in the corridor when I asked about Greene. So I thought that Greene was a delusion and I decided to put the gun down. What a waste of time. Thankfully got this game for free in PS Plus
Thanks for the video, there is a way to see every ending with one playthrough, when arriving to Dr Ballard scene, stop the game, go back to home menu, and go to parameters to record the save on a USB drive, every time you need to see a new ending, load the backup from USB on PS4 and there you go. But for trophies ... good luck, it's hard to get them all in a few playthroughs :(
@@manugames92 isnt that the point of a choose your own adventure story? whatever ending you get its then up to you to decided what was the point of it all and what is your truth. for me i got the ending where i burn down the house and leave alone whatever was going on in that house staff doctors even patients could not be allowed to leave into the real world so i burned it all down and went into the night to start a new life. that is my ending and that was my truth.
Yeah I thought Erica was hallucinating all this and I for sure thought I was gonna end up being right, so I ended up getting the last ending which was definitely the most lame of them all. 😐
13:00 i got this the first time around wasn't sure if you could save her so i just picked whatever. on the next time around i picked what the doctor said she would give her and saved her. then the 3rd time around i picked the clear stuff and it still killed her but it was quick and painless and then i felt really bad about my first time around because i just realized that i basically gave her a painful death rather then a silent send off.
I hear some people having mixed reviews with the game mainly because of the plot, which is justifiable.. But two things stocked out for me, the acting and the music were phenomenal! Job well done Mr. Austin Wintory 👏
I don't think that I understand all this opinions about endings. I truly like the endings, when not everything is explained, when you must think about what happend and also use your creativity to make a theories.
If you didn't understand the ending or were left unsatisfied, try playing it again! Even with just one additional playthrough, you can gain a LOT of new information/perspective and open up all kinds of new questions about what is happening
I just finished the game and chose to not murder anyone and trust the guy at the end so Erica can get the help and not end up crazy. I started to feel Erica would get framed for the murders because she is there when it happens, then my theory got confirmed when the cop had "Erica is suspicious" written down. I like this game but I won't play through it again and no chapter select really hurts it.
Feel the same way. The only reason i may play it again is because holly earl has great on screen presence. Shame they didnt give tobi a side story or more dialogue but i also realize the company may not have had the money or resources to make a super long game
I have never played a horror/ mind twisting game. This one definitely makes me want to play more! I want expecting a lot of it so when it Happened i was like no way. Now i am so excited to see what's out there! If you guys have any reviews let me know please!

@@bab1940 its a game/film, neither the girl nor the black killer girl have physical capabilities to kill people so easily. if she didnt kill the folks, the black women had to... but as i said, both are not capable of doing so. so its unrealistic no matter what reality you choose. but its pretty clear, from playing / watching multiple times that she is nuts. lucius is the good guy. its good work by the game team to make it in a way that normal folks can empathize and rationalize with a insane serial killer. first time i choose to kill lucius the bastard - i decided before the game gave the option... second time i was o god no please.. dont shoot. its sad, every human can be a insane killer.. you just have to have the wrong beliefs. thats why its so important to live after the 10 ammendments. do not kill no matter what.

First try i nailed it. But come on. I didnt trust the cop or the head doctor straight away. Like why the hell did they take her as a witness and put her in a mental hospital? That was messed up. I knew the black chick was good and the others bad. So everytime they wanted me to do stuff I said no. I even binned the pink perfume but it annoyingly still had the same affect. I wish I could of just got out and left straight away but the game didn't let me lol
I believe the last ending is the best , Erica mentally ill killed her father and since childhood her father brought her to hospital because she need it but in her relapse she kill him and killed the other
I hate games with open endings. I mean we can just make a story in our mind as many as we want and as long as we want then what is the point of making games and movies with open endings. Just make it clear what happened to characters.
well its quiet convenient, write a story with crazy things, in the end don't connect the dots and let the viewers do it for you - and even pay, i dont like it either. for me its lazy authors. i know their are those insane people who dont want this... so why not give them a option to just quit the game at 80% and imagine the rest themselves?
I got tye ending where i believed Greene, killed Lucien, and burned delphi house. I call it...the sasuke ending. I'll explain why i call it that. If yoy watch naruto...you know. Anyways, sasuke believed that itachi was the big evil when in actuality itachi was good. But obito aka tobi aka madara at the time (in this case Greene) tells sasuke (Erica) the truth about itachi (her mother) and he wants to destroy the leaf (delphi house and everyone involved in it).
After my first walkthrough I've been trying to find someone to explain the story. Since I didn't I am just gonna do it myself: SPOILER ALERT So, the story is about Erica dealing with her childhood trauma. She is delusional and thinks that her mother's stalker Greene is alive and killing people and in Delphi they are doing rituals with magic. Also, she thinks her mother is alive. So depending on the player's choices Erica will stay in Delphi to get treated by her own choice or she will get captured and sedated there or she will burn the whole place down and run away from there. PS It seems Erica was the one killing people all along. She probably killed her own father too.

Just finished and unfortunately I fell for Lucien and got the sedated, stayed at delphi house ending. Probably gonna replay it (just don't know when) so that's why I am here lol. I should've burned it down
It's unknown that is she is insane or what, what is not a mistery is that Lucien was so obviously lying by saying that in that door there just cleaning stuff and instead of showing me he say there's madness inside there, with those 2 contradictory mentions, i honestly felt free to shot him, and even if he was telling the true, i could not feel remorse for not showing me that i was looking something unexistential, "y'should just show me what's inside and now you die for your own contradiction". Honestly the first ending is the only warm to me.

Does kristie just disappear then? In one ending you had to tell her that it isn’t safe here and somehow she ended up outside. But another time she doesn’t end up outside
He had a gun, which for the game setting implied he was not a real peace officer; having that gun was most likely illegal for him and certainly not procedure. Notice how when he was keeping up the pretense, he used his telescopic baton, because if he had pulled out a gun when they were going into the spooky crime scene, it would have given away that something is not right with him. It's the equivalent to him having a dirty bomb suitcase nuke posing as an American police officer, since even a tank wouldn't be enough to hint anything was off otherwise.

No. She basically joins the management of the hospital with her father’s former partner and becomes the butterfly to help in their rituals. What remains unknown is that do the experiments still continue now that they’ve found their butterfly. And if she can free her mother now that she is in on their secrets and they don’t need her mother to be butterfly.

The mistery is how she live by herself all that years, and Lucien (apparently) make contact with her years later.
I wish I would’ve actually payed attention to what the nurse was saying so that I could’ve saved tobi 😩

For me all this ambiguity is cheap, as if Flavouworks didn't pay a little more to work in a more closed and satisfactory end.

Very good acting and story flows well no matter what options you choose. I found the touchscreen a bit difficult to control at times but on the whole the game was made very well.
There were a few plot-holes like why would a detective send Erica to a mental house where both her parents worked? If Greene was dead all along how did she get a gun? And a lot of unanswered questions, Why did Erica's dad die? What was the bruise in the mirror? What were all the codes? Why all the foxes?
Overall I enjoyed playing it, I think the endings could have been a bit clearer and in games like this you should be able to skip through to scenes once you've played it a few times. But it's a very good game. Great price too considering the cost that must have gone into it. Now i'm going to try the complex.

Good points the bruise is never explained. The foxes showing up everywhere is never explained, only that Mia wears a fox mask in the start so maybe she used to be a fox member of the cult before she turned on them, but hat doesn't explain why there are real foxes everywhere even in her house. Also even if you avoid every way of getting drugged (which there's a lot), you still end up drugged , aka dreaming of petals regardless. Also does she get arrested? What about in happy family wtf happens, do they make her the butterfly? Do they sweep her murders under the rug if there was no cult? I'm upset that the game designers say "you must see it all to understand it", but actually they don't include all the info on purpose cause it's one of those "draw your own conclusions" type game. There are arguments that could be made that she was just crazy or that there was a cult. Imo it's impossible for her to just be crazy. The Greek symbolism of the cult of Delphi is everywhere. Also the secret tunnels are real, the mural, the keys using the Delphi symbols are real, the masks are real, this isn't normal behavior. also she didn't know about any of this before hand so she couldn't make it up. Like why would she carve the symbol into her own dad? Symbol wouldn't mean anything to her. plus she doesn't have a gun. How'd she get the hand at her door also if she was crazy? Why are all the girls dying in the same way? Why are petals in the girls box, and her toe, and they're all having the same petals dream? Whyd she wake up outside after going to sleep elsewhere? You have to ignore so much info and write off everything we see as a delusion for it to be even remotely possible that she was just crazy.
Tobi said that no one was in the corridor when I asked about Greene. So I thought that Greene was a delusion and I decided to put the gun down. What a waste of time. Thankfully got this game for free in PS Plus
My first ending was the one where she burn the place down but instead of walking out alone, kiriste and tobi was waiting for her outside❤️

Thanks for the video, there is a way to see every ending with one playthrough, when arriving to Dr Ballard scene, stop the game, go back to home menu, and go to parameters to record the save on a USB drive, every time you need to see a new ending, load the backup from USB on PS4 and there you go. But for trophies ... good luck, it's hard to get them all in a few playthroughs :(

Yeah I thought Erica was hallucinating all this and I for sure thought I was gonna end up being right, so I ended up getting the last ending which was definitely the most lame of them all. 😐

13:00 i got this the first time around wasn't sure if you could save her so i just picked whatever.
on the next time around i picked what the doctor said she would give her and saved her.
then the 3rd time around i picked the clear stuff and it still killed her but it was quick and painless and then i felt really bad about my first time around because i just realized that i basically gave her a painful death rather then a silent send off.
I hear some people having mixed reviews with the game mainly because of the plot, which is justifiable.. But two things stocked out for me, the acting and the music were phenomenal! Job well done Mr. Austin Wintory 👏
I don't think that I understand all this opinions about endings. I truly like the endings, when not everything is explained, when you must think about what happend and also use your creativity to make a theories.
And that's why i love Outer Wilds and all FNAF series. I just love theories about games. It's alluring.

If you didn't understand the ending or were left unsatisfied, try playing it again! Even with just one additional playthrough, you can gain a LOT of new information/perspective and open up all kinds of new questions about what is happening

I just finished the game and chose to not murder anyone and trust the guy at the end so Erica can get the help and not end up crazy. I started to feel Erica would get framed for the murders because she is there when it happens, then my theory got confirmed when the cop had "Erica is suspicious" written down. I like this game but I won't play through it again and no chapter select really hurts it.

Feel the same way. The only reason i may play it again is because holly earl has great on screen presence. Shame they didnt give tobi a side story or more dialogue but i also realize the company may not have had the money or resources to make a super long game

but its pretty clear, from playing / watching multiple times that she is nuts. lucius is the good guy. its good work by the game team to make it in a way that normal folks can empathize and rationalize with a insane serial killer.

First try i nailed it. But come on. I didnt trust the cop or the head doctor straight away. Like why the hell did they take her as a witness and put her in a mental hospital? That was messed up. I knew the black chick was good and the others bad. So everytime they wanted me to do stuff I said no. I even binned the pink perfume but it annoyingly still had the same affect. I wish I could of just got out and left straight away but the game didn't let me lol
I believe the last ending is the best , Erica mentally ill killed her father and since childhood her father brought her to hospital because she need it but in her relapse she kill him and killed the other

I hate games with open endings. I mean we can just make a story in our mind as many as we want and as long as we want then what is the point of making games and movies with open endings. Just make it clear what happened to characters.

I got tye ending where i believed Greene, killed Lucien, and burned delphi house. I call it...the sasuke ending.
I'll explain why i call it that. If yoy watch naruto...you know. Anyways, sasuke believed that itachi was the big evil when in actuality itachi was good. But obito aka tobi aka madara at the time (in this case Greene) tells sasuke (Erica) the truth about itachi (her mother) and he wants to destroy the leaf (delphi house and everyone involved in it).
That argument is valid when it´s a stairs of manipulators.

After my first walkthrough I've been trying to find someone to explain the story. Since I didn't I am just gonna do it myself:
SPOILER ALERT
So, the story is about Erica dealing with her childhood trauma. She is delusional and thinks that her mother's stalker Greene is alive and killing people and in Delphi they are doing rituals with magic. Also, she thinks her mother is alive. So depending on the player's choices Erica will stay in Delphi to get treated by her own choice or she will get captured and sedated there or she will burn the whole place down and run away from there.
PS It seems Erica was the one killing people all along. She probably killed her own father too.
Then Lucien should have open the door when he was gunpoint when he's saying that there's nothing important inside the door..

It's unknown that is she is insane or what, what is not a mistery is that Lucien was so obviously lying by saying that in that door there just cleaning stuff and instead of showing me he say there's madness inside there, with those 2 contradictory mentions, i honestly felt free to shot him, and even if he was telling the true, i could not feel remorse for not showing me that i was looking something unexistential, "y'should just show me what's inside and now you die for your own contradiction".
Honestly the first ending is the only warm to me.

i thought the cop was innocent and he died in all of them damn
He had a gun, which for the game setting implied he was not a real peace officer; having that gun was most likely illegal for him and certainly not procedure. Notice how when he was keeping up the pretense, he used his telescopic baton, because if he had pulled out a gun when they were going into the spooky crime scene, it would have given away that something is not right with him. It's the equivalent to him having a dirty bomb suitcase nuke posing as an American police officer, since even a tank wouldn't be enough to hint anything was off otherwise.
Also if you notice Erica is at Delphi house for 2 days, I think Erica was on a 48 hour psychiatric evaluation.

I got this game at PS plus and i got the last ending. I have a question, Is Erica dead in this ending?
No. She basically joins the management of the hospital with her father’s former partner and becomes the butterfly to help in their rituals. What remains unknown is that do the experiments still continue now that they’ve found their butterfly. And if she can free her mother now that she is in on their secrets and they don’t need her mother to be butterfly.
