- While shooting her rock mockumentary, Grammy-winning musician St. Vincent said she got hooked on "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" for Nintendo Switch. She had to play the game for a scene in the film, and ended up playing it for long after filming stopped.

5:59 If you're here for Breath of the Wild
Who isn't?
Thanks
You da real MVP.
It's in the title lol
Thank you
BotW is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. Not surprised at all.
thoyo she’s also really beautiful too!
I would totally watch and pay for a St. Vincent twitch stream.
6:44 people who've played the game know why she laughed at that statement.
i can confirm that nobody is considered an expert after 300 hours of it...
at BEST you're considered a pro
@@tarigaming1879 and that's not even including master mode.
I'm 1,200 hours in and nowhere near as good as some of the people on youtube.
10:08 “and thank you for those Grammy’s” SENT ME
this is one of the moments where my gaming world and music world intersect happily
6:20 St Vincent “the NEW Zelda”
Fun Fact: Zelda: Breath of the Wild just turned 3yrs old a few days ago.
She looks just like Alita O.o
Worth it! One of the greatest games ever made
Love St. Vincent. I thought her comments about the performative aspects of interviews interesting.
We going to ignore the fact that she's clearly doing a Makoto Niijima cosplay!?
Funny you say that as I was just playing persona 5 and I just got makoto
omg ur right
Queen has good taste.
Writers on Kotaku made this scene seem like it was a depressing thing smh
Seemed that way to me at first too, but "Though the original Legend of Zelda was one of St. Vincent’s favorite games growing up, she said she hadn’t touched the series until Breath of the Wild. Filming that scene (of the movie), it seems, rekindled her love for the series."
They made it seem like she stared off into space for 3-4 seconds. It was 1/4 of a second, a regular pause to think what to say next.
Why? What did Kotaku say?
That’s cool. I thought I was odd and weird playing The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild for 433 hours. I loved every minute of this beautiful game. 🎥🕹🕹🕹 I rate this game as one of the best video games that was ever made. I am looking for the next Zelda series. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find all the Kurok 900 seeds that bother me. 😂
I’ve played for 760hours... help me
Yeah, I'm at about 600 hours and I'm still not very good
I want a st. Vincent twitch channel now PLEASE
I am just now seeing this for the first time.
Ms. Clark is a fascinating creature. In a number of ways.
She obviously knows how to befriend sparkly women.
She obviously knows how they work.
This guy is the director, I suppose.
At 2:05 he says, "Someone is always in control of the narrative."
That statement stopped me in my tracks.
See, I am dealing with the control of my narrative right now.
Normally, I would have passed right over his statement.
But directors, they are all about the narrative. This is what they do.
So they are naturally going to possess insights above and beyond what most other folks would be in a position to understand.
Anyway, I stopped right there to comment.
Directors need to be smart people, because they need to conceptualize the entire project.
This sort of thing does not interest me in the least. But I certainly respect people who do indeed step up here into the shoes of a director.
Perhaps this is why director-chicks seem to have a thing for me. (I'm not really sure.)
I had to take many a savage beating in order to get any degree of control of my narrative.
It was surprising how savagely my narrative was pursued.
This dude had actually started to say something else, and then he opted instead for his narrative statement.
Respect.
No director is going to be able to say no to such an offer. Let's be real.
I bet it wasnt five minutes before he said, "Sign me up. I cannot resist such an challenge."
I bet he grew as a person, and as an artist, during the course of this mocumentary.
A lot of stuff is just too strong to address head on. You need to water it down and disguise it.
Love, Dad
This sound balance is all over the place. (I keep having to adjust the volume on my computer)
Yeah well shot but audio fluctuations are awful
Instantly recognized the Park City scenes of what I consider my home town.
Oh, and I love St. Vincent.
So much love and respect. 💖
8:30 Annie is such a flirt
300 hours. i felt that.
So the article I read about her realizing how many hours she played was so exaggerated. She had the look the whole time she was talking. It's how she talks apparently.
300?? those are rookie numbers you gotta pump those numbers up
Looking forward to this. Could be the next Spinal Tap
I enjoyed the horror movie she worked on,so I'll definitely be watching . Hopefully Annie will now be our next most favorite Horror film creator.
I think Google algorithm is really working nowadays. I watched a lot of Nintendo switch videos, check, and I love St. Vincent, check, so there it is, this video show up on my homepage of TH-cam. I click it, and Like it, give the algorithm a positive feedback that you are doing great.
Holy shit, she’s definitely ready for Botw 2!
She reminds me of our Space Mom, the Lotus, Rebecca Ford of Digital Extremes.
That's basically me playing smash with my friends
What a talented young woman!
I have 470 hours on botw and I'm doing an upside down controller master mode play through ATM and I've already defeated 1 devine beast
Liam L i got a contact neck beard from reading this.
Lmfao
@@hiiipowerswag Lmao indeed! This was a long time ago but I proceeded to defeat the Lynel on Ploymous mountain, and that's the greatest gaming challenge I've ever accomplished since lol. The Divine Beast Vah Ruta which I was referring to in the original comment just felt too easy due to it being predictable lol.
I never got around to progressing further in that save, but my next goal is to defeat a gold Lynel, all the divine beasts and the final boss of The Champions Ballad. And the grand finale will be the Trial of the Sword.
hi st vincent queen
Sigh. That's the beauty of Breath of the Wild. It will put a spell on you. It's like a wonderful escape from our world into a magical painting. It is designed for you to spend hours doing...(as Flanders says)...nothing at all...nothing at all. And in the most serene ways possible. I've been playing it for a few days per week for 3 whole years now! I haven't beat it. And I'm in no rush to :-) That's the sign of the perfect game my friends.
I love these two women. And zelda
Now where is the damn trailer??
Love Annie!
St. Vincent looks so much like Anna Bell Peaks.
I hope she doesn’t feel bad. 300 hours is nothing lol. I’m pretty sure I have somewhere around 4K hours in Skyrim since release and maybe more
So, would you consider yourself "an expert" at Skyrim with all those hours spent?
Why does she have to feel bad because she just started? Thats stupid
echelon2k8 lol even with all those hours, I have yet to play it through
Ender Ø I’m just going to ignore your comment lol
@@robr9105 They obviously just didn't understand what you meant. I think they're Swedish.
I would love to see her stream on twitch
Wow.... anything for the social media to hang over someone's head...
This...this right here is why I don't like being caught up in this idiotic and dramatic infused social toxicity we call the world today. Everyone has baggage, addictions, flaws and issues.... so why the hell are we always nit picking at each other over the differences? When in actuality it's all the same...
Over 300 hours?
Jesus, I've played for over 450
Rookie numbers
Someone should tell her it's ok to put that much into the game most did. But the difference is most put 200-300+ in the month it was released in.
i play 940 hours
WHAT COLORS ARE HER JOY CONS?
Yeah
300 hours? Psssh. I'm at double that.
Down to earth st. Vincent you can pretend to be down to earth it's when. Your on stage I am frightened.
Makoto?
TRippersigs22 I thought the same thing!
Is she intentionally dressed like Other Mother?
Is it bad I don't think 300 hours in a game isn't that bad
300 hours? LOL.... that's cute...
Those are pleb numbers I’ve played 800 hundred hours
So you've played eight hundred hundred hours
I just realized I put 800 hundred lol
My ass she did. All talk. Nintendo plug.
oh ok so breath of the wild the reason she’s taking so long on the new album
Well she’s got good tastes
300 hours!?! Bahahaha. Those are legit rookie numbers to any gamer. Also for a game like BotW which is not very repetitive at all and consists of a lot exploring and mazes/puzzles that’s not a lot of time. I’d imagine wanting to do and complete everything in that game would take roughly 300+ hours.
Nice
Only 300 hours??? Pfft
yayyy she likes breath. GOOD TASTE!
300 hours that's cute try over 1000 hours of MHW
I mean if you haven't put at LEAST 250 hours into the game you haven't really played it.
300 hours is a lot?
*nervously looks at multiple games with ~500 hours playtime*
HahahaaaaaahhhhhH
MMOs are nice yes yes
300? Aww, that's cute. She must be a beginner.
lol thats weak af I have over 1000 hours on terraria and ive had it for around a year
Bruh I have 700 hours on breath of the wild get on my level
WeakI have like 700
So very white!
300 hours is nothing.
owo
The Witcher 3 > Breath of the Wild
They're both great games idk why you would even compare them.
Breath of the Wild is empty, repetitive, undeveloped characters and overrated af
Earthbound Aesthetics you’re correct that the Zelda franchise has been around longer than the Witcher franchise but the Witcher 3 was executed way better than BoTW. None of the characters in BoTW are fleshed out. None of them feel real. The story is hollow and basically non existent. The combat is poorly designed. The map is empty and repetitive with the same enemies. The only variation is in the shrines which themselves start to become repetitive. Why should I care about Link? I have no emotional attachment to him. He doesn’t even speak! I’ll admit the art style is breathtakingly gorgeous but let’s be honest, would everyone be this hyped on BoTW if it weren’t a Zelda game with nostalgia oozing from it? I think you know the answer to that...
@@Nick-kb2jc Than you clearly don't understand the point of Botw
@@Nick-kb2jc They are still both great games though and I have trouble deciding which one i like better. I Probably like botw better but only very slightly.
