My Kroger is the same way. I went in to get the Cheeseburger Doritos a while back, not with the regular chips, checked a couple cardboard displays and finally at the bottom shelf of an end cap I found them. The good thing is Kroger's regularly runs their chips on sale buy 2/get 2 or $1.99 if you buy 4. One week it's Lay's, one week Doritos, Ruffles, Kettle etc.
Yeah, it all comes down to retailer relations with the company, and what Kroger had already established as their store set of products. Sometimes companies like Lays will present a new product as a negotiation to maintain their normal shelf share, but Kroger can only negotiate “off shelf” space. This is what the company I work for has to do in order to get new products out to the public in a timely manner.
It’s interesting to see how Frito Lay has been trying to capture the international market with their newer domestic products. I’m sure they took inspiration from the large interest in flavor varieties outside of our reach here in the states.
Its funny I live very close to Hershey PA and have been to their park several times and never knew this was one of their products. But then again other than in the movie theater popcorn is rarely my go to as a snack, you cant beat that movie theater butter experience for me lol. I do love the Lay's All Dressed potato chips, one of my favorites.
Thanks for covering those Lays All Dressed chips! I agree Kevin completely. Really tasted more like a tangy barbecue than anything else, so personally wasn’t my favorite. I’d never had all-dressed chips before, so how did these compare to the Canadian Ruffles version everyone seems to love?
I’m a fan of the foldover, too! I prefer smaller sized chips over the really big ones that don’t fit in your mouth without biting off a piece and having the crumbles fall. I’d passed on both of these products but appreciate the review!
That is so funny! I love the fold-overs, too. They definitely taste better. Cape Cod potato chips are really good. They gave a gazillion fold-overs... yum! Have you guys ever reviewed Cape Cod chips? I think I would go for the SkinnyPop. I'm not a fan of BBQ chips.
I never looked for the fold overs until I started watching you all. Now I notice them and try to pick more per serving 😂I love an All Dressed Chip, but nothing tops the OG Ruffles version for me. The Humpty Dumpty version is a close second, then Aldi’s version. I don’t like the texture of regular lays so I think I’ll skip.

All Dressed, all day for me😁. Thanks for the review.
Oh yeah All dressed are a flavour coming from Canada. Nice!
Tami I look for and love the fold-overs, too. I also like the chips that have a bubble on them. 😋
So good!

I’m a fold over fan too. The all dressed sound like a chip you’d want more and more of.
It is!
It is!
I do like the fold over

Hershey also makes Ice Breakers. I know y'all like the Duos. The Ice Breakers Sparkling pineapple mango seltzer are my new favorite.
Oh I'll be buying those chips for sure
I didn't even know they were out.
I wish you could have got a picture of how they had the lays stocked in the store because that sounds hilarious putting them under a table! 😂

+1 for foldovers. I'd be darned if there wasn't the technology to make foldover-only bags.

i would go for the lays chips out of the two 😅
I am a fold over fan too lol and I'd skip the Popcorn... not my flavor profile.
I’m still waiting for a company to just a fold over bag and call them Just the Fold Overs! I will look for the All Dressed. Thanks for a great review!
Me too!!
