Coop was totally authentic, genuine and humble. He truly believed he was no better than anyone else and that came across in the parts he chose, in his portrayals.. Cooper loved America, our values, our ppl, the land -- he grasped how truly SPECIAL America is... Also he represented the BEST of America...the cowboy......the soldier...the husband...the sheriff...the everyday man and he played each one as tho he really were that person...I think that's why those on the set would say the takes didn't seem all that extraordinary, but when the director + producer would watch them later -- Cooper's scenes were remarkable...I think it was as tho he became that person...in essence, it wasn't acting...it was real and pure and true. I will never tire of watching Cooper's work...It was a joy to watch him the 1st time I saw one of his films (Sargeant York), and it will always be a joy to watch Gary Cooper...💞
This is the second generation of Gary Cooper fandom. My mother, born 1915, confessed to a youthful crush on Gary Cooper. Here I am at 83 watching every Gary Cooper movie I can find. I can’t take my eyes off this gorgeous man. No wonder he was the top male star for so long.
