He was only around 48 when this film released that doesnt qualify as old! He may sem a bit more aged than he should but he still had it in him he could get any girl all he had to was click his fingers
Right. He was only 48 when this film was released and wasn't old, but like most other actors of that era, he aged very quickly after 40 because he was a heavy smoker. Plus, 40 or 50 back then was considered much older than it is now (the life expectancy for American men from 1940 to to 1945 was between 60 and 65). When I look at all those actors from that era, they all looked much older than they were after they turned 40. Most the the actors back then, including Cooper, Gable, and Bogart, died by the time were 60.
Although the music is maybe too up -to-date, it has the right feel, considering the relationship between the two actors at the time, well put together.
Does no one notice Mr. coopers "hard on" as he walks from the door to the balcony where she fell, just pause and look? WOW, he was famous for it and finally we get to see it!

I read about it in her autobiography. She knew she couldn't have the baby because at the time, an actress who bore a child outside of wedlock would be ostracized from Hollywood. Ingrid Bergman didn't work for years in the US after she had a baby out of wedlock. Neal said she wished she had the courage to do what Bergman did. Everything was very hypocritical. Everyone was having affairs like crazy but God forbid anyone have an illegitimate child
