I love your accent. I love accents in general. I find it hard to believe people would say anything negative. I enjoy content from people all over the world and all their unique ways of saying things. We love you Linda and all your uniqueness!❤
Accent? That's so amusing. I don't hear an accent or a dialect by Linda.
An interesting way of enunciation? Yes. But, I would guess Linda speaks so closely to my own AMERICAN ENGLISH, that, I don't hear any accent whatsoever. Lol.
Agree. I've lived all over the East and South, including IN/IL. Sounds normal to me. I say, "Eether, you say Eye-ther..." tomatoeeeee tomatah...
My Ohio-born mom and dad pronounced “root” and “roof” the way you do, Linda. ❤
I'm watching from MN and love it when talking with people from the East or West coast and they know instantly where I am from and tell me they love my accent! People, they make the World go round!!
Linda, never stop bringing joy to all with your love of the garden! So enjoy you, Leah and Stewart!!
For all those who aren’t keen on the wild overgrown look, it’s Linda’s choice and I can confirm a very English cottage look. With our less reliable weather, we would never cut off potential produce - go Linda, it takes me back to my rural childhood, so I for one love it - thank you
My mother is from Kentucky and she says ‘warsh’ for ‘wash’. I follow another lady on TH-cam who lives in Ohio, and she pronounces ‘pretty’ as ‘purdy’ 😂.
You’re right Linda, those who criticize probably don’t travel much. More than likely, they pronounce at least one or two words differently from people in other parts of the country.
My mom was from East Texas and she also said "warsh." Guess it's a Southern thing. :)
@@valeriep.4716 No, I’m from south Georgia, and it’s ‘wash’ here.
I am tossing many of my tired summer annuals. Time to let ‘em go.
I agree with you -petunias are getting pulled out - tired of them
I, also would toss it. Time for something new.
Tossing my petunias & Cleome Sept 1.
Way passed their peak.
Me too. I am over them.
Fried Green Tomatoes is one of my favourite movies.
I grew up in the military, every area has diff pronunciation of words. I find it interesting. I call everything a coke, some say soda and some say pop
Fried Green Tomatoes was one of the best movies ever made! Jessica Tandy and Kathy Bates were incredible in that film!
I am older and have more insurance. Lol
@@shirleygermain5707: Best line EVER! And so true! 😂
Linda , Stewart and Leah. What a great team! Love all your videos. Thank you for all your hard work!❤️
Leah, I would love to learn how you style your hair utilizing products and equipment.
“A giant mosquito carried you away..!” 😂
Linda I must say I love everything you do. I absolutely loved your big old house and it’s beautiful gardens that you designed and I love this house and what you have done outside. I always subscribed to your channel and also subscribed to the new owner of your house Snydey. I finally decided that I just cannot watch her destruction of your beautiful gardens anymore. When she tore out the back potage I was pretty upset but now she is attacking your beautiful front yard garden. I’ve had enough of her and frankly told her that she should have never bought your house. I knew from the get go she was not the right person to buy your beautiful old house. She even said just yesterday that she doesn’t like English style houses or English gardens. I told her she should have stayed in her old house and let someone else who appreciated an old gem buy that house. I know to each his own but she has gone way overboard in destroying what a beautiful house and garden she bought. She’s way too young to fully appreciate it.
I love the different way that people pronounce things too Linda. People let the oddest things irritate them. I’m from Canada and SO many of the things are different but that’s what makes us interesting.
You handle negative, rude comments with such grace...root or "routs"...who cares people!
Toss it!! I love planting, watching things grow, harvesting and ripping it out when it’s time!!!😂
I'm from North Jersey and have lived in Alabama for 31 years now and people still ask if I'm from NY/NJ...lol. I love different accents from around the country. Love your channel too, it's the first thing I look for each da!
Fried Green Tomatoes great movie line: "Face it lady, we're younger and faster!" "Face it girls, I'm older and have more insurance."
My sister in law made us a fitted to the vintage window in our Tudor door, stained glass. It was beautiful! And the colors she coordinated with our colors in our home. We loved it! Privacy and beauty!
Throw it out and plant something that brings you joy when you look at it.
“Boxwood Bingo” reminds me of merchandising, when a truck of new styles would come in and I’d have to strategize how best to move everything around to showcase all of the stock to best advantage.
Absolutely LOVED the GRACE NOTE of the wine chilling in the crystal bucket with frozen red grapes adorning it! And it could be a terrific hospitality gift to bring when you're going to a friend's house for sips and supper! Thanks for the GRACE NOTES inspiration! Brilliant!
I’m glad you’re not replacing the original glass in the door. I know I may not be perfect, but I try to keep original features in my old house too. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
The window box looks soooo much better!
I think the way we use words, or our pronunciation of them is fun depending on where we are from! Once I was visiting Minneapolis and went to the front desk of our hotel and asked for an elastic! The girl looked at me confused, and for the life of me I couldn’t think of another term it would be called! When I described that it was stretchy and I needed it for my daughter’s hair because I forgot a ponytail she said ”a rubber band”? Ah of course a rubber band 😂! It’s an elastic where I come from! I love travelling! 🇨🇦
Loved this! Let me say that Leah is precious and Stewart has a wonderful laugh!! And you,Linda, reminded me of Snow White in your little puffy sleeves and garden sleeves!! Windowbox looks great and can't wait to watch y'all making those mini fried tomatoes!!!
My husband likes to watch your channel with me. He noticed you name different parts of your yard and suggested you call the front porch “the scenic overlook”, it fits this description! Very lovely. As to the question of the day I would toss it in the trash, if you put it in the compost pile won’t it come back next year whenever you use the compost? 😊❤
Not only are you adorable - gorgeous, but your garden is once again spectacular !!!🌳
This large window box is such a focal point I wish you would put more decorative plants, flowers, ferns and vines.♡🌿♡
What a perfect solution to your Glorious Front Door! Couldn’t Love that window box anymore! It’s so charming! It’s a treat watching you play plant Bingo which in turn helps me solve issues here in my garden as well! 💛💚
Thank you Linda!
Linda i loved everything you do except i have never liked the window box is very disorganized to me is not pleasing to my eyes but I am sure many others loved it. But honestly the only one that have to loved it is you. I look forward every week to watch you .
I think your window box is fantastic. Not only is it beautiful the peppers and tomatoes are great.
If we all did the same thing gardening would be boring.
I agree! It looks like a mess!
I recently cut back 3 pots, heavily petunias that were fading badly. I fertilized and watered...gave them about a week to show signs of regrowth. Only 1 started regrowing and looks pretty good already. The other 2, I pulled out the old, went to a local nursery and found a couple of interesting replacement plants....looks so much better.
I love your attitude! “I’m over it”. I have thrown away two hanging plants that I bought at a nursery this year. I’m sure they died due to the extreme heat we have had this summer. I just tell myself that’s it’s okay to throw them away and move on.
A friend who was a nurseryman said that you should look at your plants as if they were a bunch of flowers (they cost about the same) . When they die throw them out. They probably gave you pleasure for a lot longer than a bunch of flowers would have.
I sat on the porch today and already planning what I call musical chairs with my plants/pots. Had to laugh when I saw you doing the same.
Oh my word. That tomato bush is crazy. Love sun gold tomatoes. BTW, realized that your sister, Barb, is my Ophthalmologist . I love her so much
Your chairs and table matches your flower box in the window.
I love the window box! Was inspired to plant a large box made of brick, by our front door… like a window box. It has a few perennials that worked and I added many colourful annuals. It is lush and beautiful! I will definitely be doing the same next year! I can’t believe people comment on different pronunciations! They definitely don’t “get around much”! We lived on our sailboat in Mobile Alabama and absolutely loved the accent! Diversity, people!! Love your channel! 😎🇨🇦
The front patio furniture could not be more perfect. Very inviting. Love it.
Stewart - you crack me up, getting called out for your language LOL. Leah, so good to see you - how is the decor progress coming along in your fantastic apartment? Linda, yes - Hubs was right. Can't wait to see the new window for the front door. I too believe that the price is really very appropriate and frankly, much cheaper than I would expect to pay. Hooray for everyone!
It hasn't even been a year and look at your great yard! I love the drone shot that gives you an idea of just how filled in everything is. Love it!
Blessed morning Mrs Linda, I pray all is well with you and yours! I live in hurricane alley of Florida. To protect strong winds we applied Itched Looking Glass Ahesive over our windows. It provide sunlight and protection. The application was DIY, costing about $49.00 per window. Home Depot and Lowes carry it
Please be safe with this one!
Toss it, Linda! To the compost pile 😊
I love seeing your vlogs! You never fail to uplift me. You are never egotistical or standoff-ish despite your many achievements. You are consistently Linda! Many thanks for your lovely vlogs. 🌿
Love the social patio new furniture and the frozen grapes too.. ❤
This was great, you all looked like you were having fun, Leah is such a cutie 😊
Beautiful patio furniture!!!!
I love to see how you think and plan and regroup for the next season!
I am from Michigan and pronounce root just like you. I enjoy how people speak all over the world. Language is interesting and fun. I came inside to listen to your video after tossing my big blue pot of blue violas that had been growing since the first of May-they were just worn out. I enjoyed how your window box looked. I prefer a wilder natural look to my gardens. I planted up 2 new hay racks this year and they performed magnificently. I think window boxes exude charm to a home. Always enjoy your videos.
Very happy to hear you are going to add more winter interest. I always thought you needed more winter greenery in your front yard.
Winter Heath is a good plant!
Good morning from Texas! Love all you’ve done at the cottage!Love ya and Stewart and Leah!👍🏼❤️🦋😇🙏🏽
:My husband, who is an interior designer, has used that type of covering of windows in commercial and home settings. We've had it on some of our glass doors for years and love it. It has worked beautifully allowing light to come through but giving privacy. I'm sure you'll like the effect. Smart choice!.
Beautiful as always linda love watching you ❤❤❤
Everything looks wonderful can’t wait to see the new film over the front door. Patio table looks great great bargain for chairs too. The frozen grapes look good in the ice bucket great idea.
Love your new format....the segments are so enjoyable.....great work guys👍
We love the changing light of the seasons and the day, too. Congrates on your decisions on the glass window treatment!
🌿💗 Oh my! Such good content….segment after segment! I’m loving it! 💗🌿
I’d toss it …around here in Kentucky we are seeing cabbage decorative plants and mums already😃 I’m over the annuals that are weak in the garden love the garden sleeves❤
Toss it, getting ready to do that tomorrow with my pots!
That’s a great top you have on today. I love it!
Your sense of style, in and out of the garden, is impeccable
I always enjoy your videos.
Thank you for the inspiration! 😊
Hi, Linda. Thank you for your video. ❤🎉
Stewart, the drone shot is stellar! Thank you for sharing your artist’s eye.
Leah is adorable….a wonderful addition to your channel❤
Toss it! We have not had 100 degree temperatures, but we have been in the 90's with brutal sunshine. And very little rain, which is very unusual for us, but after the second summer like this, I am making different choices on what to plant and where. Not going to lie, I am loving working in my shady gardens during the last few weeks, temperature drop is significant. And a lot of my sun loving plants are surviving in more shade this year. But I have been watering a lot more than I have ever watered, and that is making me think about more rain barrels and even more options to collect water to use around the garden. And my vegetable garden is doing awesome this year. I am growing things more vertically, and at times it is shading at certain times of the day, which has helped greatly with enduring this summer. Love the patio furniture!!! And I absolutely love the solution for the front door window. Happy Sunday evening all!
I have Millions of the little tomatoes also. I keep them trimmed and that keep growing!
Amazing idea to combine both flower plants along some vegetables. The orange tomatoes are gorgeous, and to harvest and consume is just magnificent. Great job, linda. The front yard looks amazingly picturesque.
I am on the side of cutting out or removing the already tired out plants and replacing them with a more tolerant autumne plant like the memy.
Appreciate all your content and info. We have two sidelights surrounding our front door that faces the street. My husband bought "film" that they sell at Lowes and made the sidelights opaque white. He then put it on our garage door windows where anyone could look in from street and now we get the light and complete privacy. You did the right thing getting something custom made for your home. But, if anyone needs quick fix and very inexpensive you can get that film. Easy to put up!
❤ from Georgia!
I use my green tomatoes to make green tomatoes relish, which my husband loves. I would toss the plant too. I loved the segment on organization. Texas Extension Education has a great checklist, but this takes it to the next level. Love that.
My husband was born and raised in Oklahoma. I love his "accent." Windah-seal (window sill), warsh (wash), etc. Boomer Sooner!❤
My front door has a stained glass panel that is opaque glass of different sorts, but the center was clear…I bought that contact paper that looks similar, taped it to the glass, traced the pattern and solved the problem…I was quite happy with the results!
Looking forward to seeing your new windows
Good planning and tips! TFS 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Toss it! The summer is coming to a close in my mind anyway!
You are a plethora of information❤
Beautiful
I agree on Lantana I love it
Toss it 😊
I use those tomatoes as part of my floral arrangements. They add an unexpected surprise and I personally love the fragrance
Hi from Annie the garden is great even in tht heat, like your idea of the grapes over the wine bottle and holder so elegant
It is fun to move plants around and ots and various decorations in the garden, things from front to back yard it is a great idea.
I do that all the time. I like grea different looks every season I do something different and great.
Love the new social patio furniture!! I have decided that Leah is Linda’s Ed McMahon !! What a great team!! Love this!
Yes spent hours this week with my sweetie. He did the heavy lifting I did all the mowing, pruning, deadheading, weeding. I have a table exactly the same style only smaller and it's so sturdy! The height of your table is perfect. I can't even imagine where your umbrella flew to. Speaking of tomatoes I'. just about done picking them and it's time to retire those plants for the season.
Dear Linda, love your garden, Tudor and happy vibe, love Barbie
I love the window box like it is
Ok. I have to say that wasn’t too wild about the new chairs but with the new table, it’s all great.
Please show us the front door glass circle after the installation of the film. I am interested to see how it turned out.
Toss it!
Recently did with my Superbells Miss Lilac
I like the idea of moving some of the topiaries from front porch. That would highlight view of your beautiful front door and entrance from the street!
My heat weary flowers got tossed and I replanted 3 pots with kale and mums. It's ready for fall! linda from NE
Stewart is DOING A GREAT! Job👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I would just pull the plant. I had a few succumb to the 100 degree plus days and I cut some back before the extreme heat and they are growing back. I like the new patio furniture and color. The table height is good too. Your window box really did well and hopefully will keep on giving as it cools down.
Question of the day? I would toss it. I have been slowly pulling the out. I have replace a couple of pots with annual mu,s. I have picked up four with all buds. So pretty! By this time of summer I’m dunzo with watering etc, lol. The garden still looks
S great Linda! 👩🏻🌾🌼🌾💚
Regarding your question of the day. I would definitely remove the half dead plant from the cc pot. I do not have the time. Time is a precious commodity. Ms JulieAnn from zone 6B Dutchess County NY.
I would compost it and try again next year and begin my winter regiment clean up! Just a little early!
Linda, would you consider putting some bricks alongside Lemon Lane? It would carry over the terrace look on the other side and tie in with the edging and the house. I think it would bring it up a notch. What do you think? 💕😊
I used several coats of frost spray paint on my front door glass. Still plenty of light, provides privacy & was a cost saving solution. And yes, I’ve already pulled up petunias & other annuals. 7b central Alabama has been almost as hot as OK.
Time to toss 😎 I’m going to be doing the same. Thanks for the video.
awesome goodness
I am tossing my dead and half dead plants too.
I also find colloquialisms interesting and fun. Being from the northeast, I say “root” which rhymes with “boot”.
Love the larger table that matches your great new chairs. Like the older ones you kept too.
Loved the the Barbie move too!I and i am 75
Hey Linda- love all your videos each week! I too had the same issue with my front door and privacy. I just went to Home Depot and they offer a whole array of privacy control window film of all varieties. I believe it was about $40 a roll. It’s not as flimsy or cheap looking as contact paper. Just an afterthought if you need to remedy this somewhere else. I’m sure your solution will be fabulous nonetheless ♥️
Thanks Linda for reminding me! I just purchased 100 Boxwood Basil seeds on Amazon for $16. I also bought Globe Basil to see if it performs well too. Better hurry if you want those as there are only 13 packets left. 😅
I had never heard your “root” pronunciation anywhere else (yes, I travel very little) until my sister married a man from a Michigan. I live in coastal NC and we have a dialect very much unlike anywhere else in the country.
I have tossed some too! Let me just say how cute you look today!
lol ha ha root❤ love your so sassy!
Linda, in Georgia, we would take those green tomatoes and peppers and put them together in vinegar, let them pickle and eat them with turnip greens. The delicious juice is called " pot liquor"
