Was there, was gutted, but was amazing!
The fact we managed to get to penalties, we'll it's not a miracle, we were a damn good team back then!!
My prized possession and the only thing I'd save from a burning building is my signed (by the whole team) Alan Tankard shirt (sorted out by Peter Swan, long story) he's very much forgiven lol.

1) Dixon threw a bit of mud at Tankard as he ran up to take + miss the fateful penalty
2) As Tankard trudged off, a couple of Arsenal players went over to him to 'commiserate'.
To his great credit, Tankard advised them to "FUCK OFF"

Vale not only matched Arsenal we played them off the Park.
Alan Tankard should have never taken that penalty (not blaming him) there strikers and midfielders that should have stepped up way before a Defender.
To this day i've always said that if one of the regular penalty taker's had stepped up to the mark that we would have won that match.
