I felt the same way. I was definitely against Robbie showing up at the beginning of C3 only because he was new and it was different but by the time he left I was so sad. He quickly became one of my favorite characters and players.
From the very moment I saw Robbie on the cast for C3, I was like, "He's gotta stay." That feeling has only increased with time, haha. He's an amazing cast member and does so well with the group. I'd love to see him in Campaign 4, their schedules and contracts allowing.
I got to meet him at mcm last year, he was not only the sweetest, but he spent the whole weekend playing rollies with fans. It was a great experience, made my whole weekend! :D
well there use to be 8 party members as the main cast (not counting the DM). Why not have Robbie in the entirety of C4 as main cast? I mean it's not unheard of for one cast member to unable to make a session or 2 due to their busy schedule, so they could work with his schedule I'm sure. I'm hoping that next campaign he'll be part of main cast. He's just such a perfect fit and I feel like no other guest has just fit in with everyone SOOOO well. It seems like every session he's in everyone just has so much more fun, no matter if it's cast or audience.
It’s a big obligation and would require possibly losing out on VA deals he may have in the works. It’s just not that simple but I’m sure he’ll be a regular guest going forward just like a lot of the EXU people as I believe that’s their intent - to allow mini campaigns with non permanent cast. This also avoids having to have him obligate himself to years of running a PC in a campaign as it’s a 4-5 year obligation as we’ve seen. I feel like either way he’ll be a mainstay in EXU material. Like Aimee Carrero as well. I do think he clearly is a good fit and I do wish he had been there since the start instead of that other dude who played Tiberius.
Two more moments that made me love Robbie even more is when the Mythtaker was introducing themself to Dorian and Robbie was like "The...mithteker?" because of the heavy accent. And a little moment where Dorian found out that Mister has a gun now and he stumbled on his words and was like "excuse me?" Robbie's just the best that ever happened in C3. I love his befuddled reactions to unusual things in the game and his witty responses. 💚
The moment where he finds out that Mister has a gun now is PER.FECT. It's so authentically Robbie but also manages to be authentically Dorian. And it's a great reminder to the audience that this party of weirdos has taken some things in stride that maybe shouldn't be considered normal, like a monkey with a gun 😄😄
FINALLY this kind of comp gets made!!!! 1000% yes pls!!! im always seeing comments about how much people also love robbie, i havent seen any bad stuff said about him. he fits so damn well with the group, itd prob be diff to add him to the group, but if some of the OG cast steps down in campaign 4, then PUT ROBBIE IN COACH! Also it just adds to it for me that he has such a great dynamic with travis, and travis is my favorite cast member
I am very interested in seeing the campaign 4 lineup announced, since I DON'T know what the plan is. Because aside from it being great that we all like Robbie and how he meshes with the core team, him being a semi-core cast member both introduces a problem and provides a nice healthy option for any workplace. Con- While Robbie simply being permanently at the table with no other changes is kind of ideal, and Ashley no longer having to split time, they basically gained 2 players this season and it makes the table crowded - not on an episode by episode basis, this season start proved that, but from the standpoint of there being no room for guest players unless someone else is absent. Pro- Robbie is proof that they *can* get someone not part of the original cast to mesh well long-term to keep the empire going. IF any main cast ever wants to take the chance to step away from the table and leave/retire/change role then they really need someone like Robbie who the community loves available to step in full-time. I wouldn't speculate on who (if anyone) was feeling ready for a break either c4 and best I can tell they are all living their best life. Matt is the only one that I'm aware of who has directly talked about how he will want to hand over the reigns and step back at some point while wanting to keep the world going, but that obviously doesn't apply. So they definitely want/should keep Robbie, but that sort of leaves it in my eyes in a weird state of asking how they can do that. CR has been, especially with Beacon and Exandria Unlimited, trying to branch out, but is still very much a single flagship. With Slayers Take, Moonfall, and other campaign attempts, I can see a world where if no one wants to step back, Robbie (or someone else, but presumably he for seniority) is relegated to a side project for the next campaign to try to push it forward. I could see a world where if they could find one-two additional permanent players received as well as Robbie they try to have two "main campaigns", which would bring in a second DM, which CR does need for long-term since they are trying to be an lasting property, and it would help them avoid over-pressuring Matt. So very much of CR is on his shoulders. But I don't think they are yet at a spot to do that since that's needing both a new DM AND 1-2 new diamond-in-the-rough players like Robbie. Or maybe I am overthinking it and eight-to-nine players-on-screen is just not an insurmountable problem in their eyes. They could stick with 8 full-time PCs next campaign, and figure something out regarding guests. Honestly I would be fine with that.
@ Chill, just what I said. It's weird to be aggressive to someone's basic comment, relax. I'll try to explain more. Ashley Johnson is a successful actress and we love that for her. If you watched campaigns 1 and 2 she had responsibilities where her acting jobs kept her away for a disproportionate amount of both campaigns. In game this was explained by Pyke being physically absent but unreliably able to project herself to the party, and Yasha being generally aloof (and kidnapped one time, and mind controlled another). Sometimes her missing was an opportunity to bring guest players into the empty space. This campaign was the first time she was present throughout, which was wonderful. Presumably she will be similarly available for campaign 4. Then I said that with a slightly expanded cast of Robbie PLUS a guest the table gets crowded at 9 players. With her there full time now, and Robbie there full time next campaign (fingers crossed) there are 8 players and no natural absences for a guest player to step in. If that logic follows, then almost all guest players in campaign 4 would need to deliberately include having someone step away for a few sessions. Best I can recall there has never been 9 players at the table at once, including guests, but would love to hear of a time so I can re-watch then to feel the vibe. Then I was thinking out loud for happy discussion about how they might solve the 9-person problem, including from personal and business sides where they have other goals aside from Campaign 4.
@ After some digging, campaign 3 episode 64 has 10 players on screen for a little over an hour (Thanks to 3 guest players at once). And it is pure shoulder-to-shoulder chaos lol
