You are right. When fishing alone along long stretches of the river, a large net is cumbersome to carry. Fishing guides in Iceland carry nets. Tight lines from the camera man 😊
@@WideOpenOutdoorFilm I did and didnt see a single big salmon, i saw one 12-13 kilo but not s single 15 kilo + and def not a 20 kilo +. Now i live by the Gaula and we have a 2 km beat so i am a bit biased tho with a personal best of 132 cm and 24 kilo by chart so i have high demands when youtubers mention dramatic fights with big salmon.
and the treble was still in its mouth while taking photos, i'm glad in the uk we're moving away from trebles, i watch a lot of norwegian videos and they are brutal, they drag the fish onto the stones a lot, one older guy killed a fish of 30lb by cutting its gills with a knife and just left it to bleed to death, never even had the decency to chap the poor thing first
@@johngraham5996 Yep, lots of various bad fish handling here in Norway for sure but there are also people from all over the world with various experience. We have some uk tourists too that are really bad even if bragging about fishing in scotland for 30 years and i guarantee no ghillie in Scotland taught them that kind of behaviour.
Bit like climbing Everest, freezing cold temperatures, but its about catching the Salmon. That's the challenges.
Ha, ha - thanks.
Nice fish, would love to go Iceland salmon fishing 👍.
Fantastic rivers and salmons, but unfortunately most of them are quite expensive. Anyway, go for it :-)
what's the song on 26:30? I was searching it and I can't find, only I found some Spanish singer with similar melody but Spanish lyrics
It is royalty free music for use in videos. This is from Shockwave Sound

@SaumonQuebecOfficiel ca pourrait être un bon exemple de video de tout ce qui doit pas être fait pour une remise à l’eau😢
Great video and very informative in all respect.
Glad you enjoyed it!
When you are fishing upstream with snedla fly, which line are you using?
Why does no one carry a net? Could land half those fish in half the time with half the stress/damage to thr fish.

Thanks :-)
Terrible fish handling. That salmon must be nearly dead by the time it was measured and handled.
They haven heard about a net in Iceland i guess wich would make sure a lot more fish survived.
