YAH Buddy, thing is suuUwEEET!!! crackles like lightning in a bottle... Dig that custom bucking spike too. When I had mine long ago I was looking into constructing a more modern battery pack, there was a business near me called Batteries + Bulbs & They sold all kinds.I think originally it used 5 large round odd size ni-cads & i was going to use laptop battery cells for better performance & I even found a nos model label... That deep dish flywheel air shroud is unique to that saw too. The battery covers are always beat to heck on these along with the rest of it, the shape of them remind me of the old Atari video game consoles. Mabie someone out there can 3d print them... Super sweet you got it goin Bud. I got the Sears D-49 I'm working on torn down, this time to the block & glad I did as I missed alot of details that needed attention. scored piston/cyl, crankcase grit & Crank bearing is missing a Bb! Also one of the carbs check valves was not seated right & does not seal at all & the crank journal has needle bearing divots in it. Amazingly I was able to find ALL the internals for it or equivalent part shared by a different model, rings piston, rod, a used good crank, all the rod crank & clutch bearings & gasket kit, ignition parts & seals. Nos parts scatterd by the four winds & comeing from the four corners of the world, now I wait for the day he is resurrected...😁✌👍💯
@enginecrzy I have two 3D printers and can print covers if I were to take the time to design a cover. I'm going to just use a small 12v battery to start for display purposes. She's tired and wore out, she was used hard in her life.
@@mistermacgray At any rate, Its at a good hiatus point with your preliminary troubleshooting completed & you verifying functionalities. Lay it up on a shelf or heal on it some later if you choose. Does it good you've shown it care.
What I ment to say was electric start,,is that a place for the battery under the rear handle,,? But still a real cool saw to have in a collection,, I agree,,its doing great just the way it is,at least it runs And is good enough to demonstrate
Sounds great wish stuck tractors were that easy to get running

Great job getting that old mcculloch running,,,I have never seen an electric chainsaw before,, interesting video
Great job Brian; Use thick wires for maximum current flow to the starter; try two hobby batteries in series to get a little over 12v; take care.
@jimsworthow531 unfortunately, this saw and many others were lost in the recent garage fire. That video will be in a few weeks.
Nice little saw👌

@markhigby4034 yes, the battery pack was on the lower brace from the factory.
Got my hands on one too. I’m wanting to build a battery pack for it after I rebuild it
