    Surprised you didn't mention GFI has 1 influence. That seems pretty significant given that only two agendas feature an influence. That will keep it out of a large number of deck lists, and not make it the glacier auto-include you mention. (Love the videos, keep it up!)

    • @Willingdone
      @Willingdone  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Jason Pitts I mentioned the influence right at the beginning when I was reading the card, but you're right that I didn't really drive that important point home. I don't think it's really going to keep it out of decks, though. It's only 2-3 total influence, and the defensive effect of having GFI over another 5-for-3 is definitely worth it IMO. You can't get blown out on RnD with GFI like you can with Priority Requisition or whatnot.

    Big problem with trace is that runners can just click 2 creds and remove Tags. With most trace effects only result in a tag if the trace strength is 2 greater than links then all the runner will have to do is take the tag and save money creds on removing the tag on the next click. You really need to invest into tag punishment to make runners want to avoid tags.

    I thought about a deck with Improved Tracers combined with cards like Shinobi. That could be devastating if the runner doesnt have an answer to a six strenght 2/3/4 tracer. And when you think about that the agenda effect stacks, then some of the multi tracers will become ridiculously strong
    (Sorry for any grammar or spelling mistakes, im not a native speaker ;) )

    • @Willingdone
      @Willingdone  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Josha Buhl I can see that, but it's hard to include 3-for-1 agendas in any deck. The decks that play 3-for-1's usually don't want big tracers like Shinobi. I really like the effect of Improved Tracers, but I wish it was on an asset rather than an agenda.

    I don't have too much experience with D&D, so I take your impressions at face value. I wanted to add one thing
    Media Blitz - I know it's confusing. But I was playing against a Making News deck with Restructured Datapool and Media Blitz. Scored Datapool. They played Media Blitz and traced me at least twice a turn. The tax was insane. I think this cards has a bunch of brutal combos like this.

      +Krystian Majewski HB with this and Mandatory Upgrades can be insane.

      @Willingdone  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Krystian Majewski Hmm. That seems powerful. I think I got a bit caught up with the rules issues of this card. I stand by what I said, but I don't think I really gave it a fair shake. I'm hoping we'll see some awesome 5-for-3's that it could copy in the future.

    • @HerbJon
      @HerbJon 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Krystian Majewski Good to combo with Director Haaz as well. They eventually want to steal her anyway which is taxing in itself and then you just play this to keep the ability. ;)

    a lil surprised you didn't show caduceus with the improved tracers ice. That was the first one that came to my mind. I havent played in quiiite a while but 4 str used to be quite relevant on sentries, the traces effects are on the border of being payable (at least for 1 link runners) and it already slots well in making news who's probably the main man for playing this agenda if anyone. I still agree that its tough to compete with the 2/3s and 1/2s though, and therefor probably not really playable.

    • @Willingdone
      @Willingdone  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Phijkchu_Cute_Phijkchu Good point. I'm surprised I didn't put Caduceus on the screen since it was one of the first Tracers I thought of as well. It's unfortunate that these 3-for-1's are so weak. I hope I get proven wrong and we see the Improved Tracers/Encrypted Portals meta, but these 3-for-1's have been designed with such marginal abilities that I doubt that will happen.

    will 24/7 be our first banned card? it seems bananas.

    • @Willingdone
      @Willingdone  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Darryl Anderson I doubt it, though I agree that it's really strong. I don't think banning it would really fix the "problem." The issue is Astroscript, Breaking News, and maybe Scorched, not this. I'm not a big advocate for banning any one card because I think that the card pool needs several big changes all at once e.g. Astroscript and Datasucker + Anarch Rig. That said, there are some obvious answers to 24/7 like Plascrete and Turntable, so I don't know if it'll end up being a problem.

    What about a glacier Custom Biotics with Victoria Jenkins....

  • @felixhathaway2112
    @felixhathaway2112 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think calling news hound a gutenburg clone sell it a bit short, any 4 strength end the run sentry is strong solely for double gearchecking mimic, and this one also has none of the types that make it vulnerable to cards like sharpshooter and deus ex.

    • @Willingdone
      @Willingdone  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Felix Hathaway That's a fair criticism. I was mainly disappointed with the current effect, but you're right that it's not bad against Mimic. The whole discussion hinges on whether or not we can consistently have a current active. Doesn't Gutenberg do the same thing even better on RnD prior to a current being active? If a current is active, isn't Turnpike pretty much the same thing as a two-credit tax? I get that four strength is good against Mimic, but it's only in the gamestate that you have a current active and they don't have a Datasucker/Net-ready Eyes/etc that News Hound is better than Turnpike. Turnpike is always going to be two credits vs Mimic whereas News Hound is two credits + Datasucker counter only with current. The trace value of News Hound could be an issue without an active current. I can think of several gamestates where 1-link Runners could just bump into News Hound and pay through the trace. If our deck can consistently keep a current active, then I can see using News Hound.

    '15 Minutes' might make 'Film Critic' a staple in many decks now that NBN is going to get a lot of love for awhil;e after Dat&Des... Film Critic was always pretty good against the old NAPD/Psigame/Flatline Jinteki decks... didn't really pay off as much against other decks (maybe a Midseasons or Ash deck), and the popularity of Jinteki in my local groups made FC a staple in every deck I carried around.
    But with 15 minutes/QPM? Yeah ... even my Quetzal deck might have one or two Film Critics now. News Team might make 'Data Dealer' useful now?

    • @Willingdone
      @Willingdone  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Paul Hogarth I think Film Critic was already on the radar because of NAPD and Future Perfect, so you're right that 15 Minutes is just going to make it more popular. That said, Film Critic is kind of tricky with 15 Minutes. Are we just going to leave it on the Critic? Once we score it, the Corp can put it back in RnD.
      People brought up Data Dealer with Shi Kyu, but I don't think it ever really happened. Maybe if a ton of people start playing News Team/Shi Kyu, I could see playing a Data Dealer, but I don't know if that will happen.

    • @paulhogarth6765
      @paulhogarth6765 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Willingdone Well, By the writing specifically ... Film critic won't work against News Team, neither would Turntable (I don't think?...) Turntable won't work against QPD nor News Team, but will work against 15 Minutes, but Film critic will work against both QPD and 15 Minutes.
      I think Data Dealer could be useful given that if you need money .... 15 Minutes is 9 creds for one click (not including the run) but problematically the 15 Minutes won't go to the Corp's archives. It gets removed from game. So I can see Data Dealer being useful as the Corp could simply trash a whole lot into Archives (including a whole bunch of News Teams).
      Two or three News Teams in Archives basically makes the Hyperdriver + Notoriety play a zero sum game depending on how late game it is. And thast's especially true if you didn't manage to get the corp to pop all their Howards, and were simply looking to score a game out of hand.
      Film Critic treats any hosted Agenda as uninstalled, so as long as it is hosted the Corp can't trigger its ability. See, unless you find a way to swap out, Critic host, or forfeit that 15 Minutes, QPD AND News Team builds.
      I mean, take a 45 card NBN deck. That's 20 Agenda points. .. which means 6 of them could QPD/15 Minutes. You throw in a possibly -3 from News Team. That's going to be tough .... You have 2/3 more Global Foods, and 3 Astros .... what do you do? You Take a TWIY deck and you can take 2 less Agenda points ... so that's 6 x QPD/15 Minutes + 3 x Astro + 2 x Global Food. Add in 3 x News Teams. On Average you can expect the runner to hit 2 of those News Teams. With Executive Boot Camp (only Asset Tutor I can think off the top of my head, it's 3.30 AM) ... with a TWIY deck? could very easily get all three straight into Archives.
      So you have three cards you could trash straight into Archives to give the Runner -3, you have 2 Agendas worth only a total of 4, you have 6 Agendas you could easily score either with one click = 1 Agenda, or you have 3 that chances are you'll get given to you for free.
      So I can foresee some new decks going at least a combo of at least two of (as in, at least two cards of either of the three) Data Dealer, Turntable, or Film Critic in their decks. NACH will not save you against a NBN deck. Worse still, with Sync ... a 40 Card deck minimum, plus its ability to trash resources cheaply (making News Team more effective against Data Dealer) ... well, suffice it to say but when it effectively becomes a situation where the Corp can literally score 6 agenda points just by the Runner running, whilst hitting them for possibly up to -3 Agenda points just for them trying, and Global Food Initiative drop down their deck Agenda density, combined with decks like TWIY and SYNC ... honestly, we're going to start seeing some form of Agenda swapping/Hosting/Forfeiture.
      (Edit) Let's take a TWIY/SYNC deck of 3 x News Team, 3 x GFI, 3 x QPD, 3 x 15 Minutes, 2 x Astro deck. For 3 Clicks, you have a maximum Agenda Point total the Runner could feasibly steal oif 10, with up to -3 from News Teams. If you get one Astro off, you can get the other straight out of hand in a single turn, and you've feasibly locked down the entire game.
      The only way to mitigate that would be hosting, swapping, or forfeiting cards. The choice between taking tags or a -1 agenda score or two tags is going to be a tough one .... alternatively we could go for the Paparazzi deck ... but once again, you'll just be handing three agendas straight to the corp without Film Critic ... Honestly, I'm thinking a film critic and a Data Dealer ... if you go NACH, you're going to want a whole lot of credits, so a News Team heavy deck, with those 15 minutes ... you're going to want to prepaying off those whole lot of tags without clicks and off turn.
      When Runners have a choice being paying two clicks and 4 creds, or 4 creds through NACH, or simply using a data dealer and getting 9 creds with a single click... Well ... what would you prefer? Ditto when 15 minutes becomes a fixture of every NBN deck people will play against.

    Shannon Claire could potentially replace Fast Track, in a different way.
    She should've been 1 influence. I'm still holding out for what each faction gets for their Jackson replacement come rotation.

    • @s_cue
      @s_cue 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Waggabagaboo This is what I was hoping for with the extra influence. I hope all of the factions get a more flavorful comparison for their specific faction with a slight nerf. This is a card that is similar to what Jackson can do, but with a nerf.

    • @Willingdone
      @Willingdone  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Waggabagaboo I don't know if she'll replace Fast Track since Fast Track is usually a way to find and score an agenda without having to hold one in HQ. That said, I think she could see some play as a defensive effect. I wish she was lower influence, like you said, and also just a little better overall.

    • @Willingdone
      @Willingdone  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +s_cue True, though this is HUGE nerf. I'm hoping that the "Jackson replacements" are better than this. Fingers crossed!

  • @wilsonw13
    @wilsonw13 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Global Food Initiative is very good looking, but I think you missed one of it's big negatives. It costs one influence to include, ouch!

    • @Willingdone
      @Willingdone  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Wilson Watkins I don't think that's a big deal. It's going to be a total of 2-3 influence for a massive upgrade on the 5-for-3. In a deck like HB ETF Glacier, that's going to be influence well spent. Same for Blue Sun Glacier.

  • @DefiasBrotherhood
    @DefiasBrotherhood 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Keegan Lane is bonkers! Install a cheap ETR, then a Data Raven in front of it. They run that agenda you are advancing and you trash their breaker. I run 3 in my Sync deck!

    • @Willingdone
      @Willingdone  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Seth Dortch I really like him! That's the sort of defensive upgrade I'd rather see than something like Caprice or Ash. I think the designers have learned their lesson and are coming up with really interesting new non-ICE defensive cards. Cool stuff.

    Media blitz, may consider in a cybernetics division deck. The three influence hurts however.

    • @Willingdone

      +Jonathan Kilby With which agenda are you thinking? Mandatory Upgrades?

    • @jonathankilby6636
      @jonathankilby6636 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Willingdone The current deck I use has defective brain chips as well as sentinel defence. it needs testing and tweaking

      sorry I meant self destruct chips

    • @Willingdone
      @Willingdone  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jonathan Kilby Maybe try to Media Blitz a Mandatory Upgrades and then you could score Self Destruct Chips + 3-for-2's out of hand. Permanent Biotic Labor seems pretty sweet.

    All seing I seems like such a sideboard card. When you want it, then its really good, but some (or most of the) times it just doesnt do anything.

    • @Willingdone
      @Willingdone  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Phijkchu_Cute_Phijkchu Haha, yeah. I think it'll still see play, especially if these Data Leak Reversal + Paparazzi decks keep being popular. NBN has so many "metagame slots" vs the other factions that I think they'll be able to play one of these easily.

    • @NovaCyn
      @NovaCyn 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea. Does make you wonder how the game would look if you could just have cards like this and plascrete in your deckbox without needing to sigh as you draw them in the matches they're useless tho :D

    TL:DR Shinobi. Its not the "Best" combo, but thats where my idea initially went. Or just another excuse to use Tyrant or Woodcutter.

    • @Willingdone
      @Willingdone  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jukejointjeze0n That's a good one. I was thinking bioroids like Ichi or Janus.
