I think here the main problem for the Punggol LRT is the service since the North branch has to pass through Sam Kee and Teck Lee first I think might be too confusing to plan the services out
At first, a Punggol North branch will probably just make the Punggol LRT system even more a mess. But for us rail fans, the North branch would definitely be interesting to see. The West loop took so long to open due to lack of development in West Punggol. Because of this, I couldn't see the North branch opening earlier than maybe 2017. I'm sure the construction of the North branch in tandem with the West loop might quicken development in West and North Punggol, so Punggol Point and Samudera may have more HDBs and such. Who knows, maybe there will be enough development to justify opening Teck Lee station. According to the original plans, the North branch would go to Coney Island, probably adding more visitors to the Coney park. If this indeed happened, it would be more logical to extend the Northeast Line to NE19 Coney, interchanging with the LRT. Even though my imagination here would be ambitious, it will be very expensive to build. And operationally, it would be so much better if the LRT diverts fully at Teck Lee instead of northbound only diverting at Sam Kee. Since the new SIT will be located in Punggol, I could see one of the North stations directly serving the Institute.
Good news! Just had a discussion with staff at PG MRT STATION. There are plans to extend LRT towards Punggol Settlement, return via Punggol Coast Station as interchange on way back to PG MRT which will be an interchange for the upcoming Pasir Ris CRL extension with Stations at Riviera, Elias Rd, ending at Pasir Ris stn. Completion by 2027. HUAT AH!!!
I don't think Teck Lee will open unless either, A. Significant development happens around the station site soon or B. to provide interchange with the North Branch line, should it be build.
At first punggol station middle platform was covered but is just not in service on future projects teck lee station is not abounded is just sbs transit project of teck lee on future projects ZC
One siding towards new area before Teck Lee Stn is NE18 Mrt 🚂 🚃 Punggol Coast Stn if you travel between PW3 Punggol Point Stn ➡️ NE17 Punggol Interchange Stn
There's just so many empty land in punggol that can make it into public housing. N3, n4, n6 all not yet completed. Hope hdb can built n5, n7, n8 & n9. Yesteryears ago you can take a boat to JB at punggol jetty.
It's okay. It looks better with the middle track being covered because it is more convient.

It is a good idea that LTA decides to use punggol extension to prevent overcrowding otherwise they will have to roll out 2-cars

Punggol North Loop disappear around in the 2000 masterplan
Good luck hdb, residents are happy when you build more bigger & spacious flats in punggol.
You can still see the abandoned tracks that were supposed to be part of the north branch when you pass by teck lee
Thankfully I’m able to watch this from tomorrow

No building low ridership and that's why LRT stations at Punggol have been forgotten.

Station Tech Lee might open due to construction of campus
Teck Lee station is not abandoned,it will open when surrounding Developments are ready
I know
They r waiting for the SIT and JTC Building nearby there developed then can open
Based on what I know SIT will be ready to be open around year 2024
that explains the extra middle track i saw everytime i went there xd
around PW2 Teck Lee is forest, it will just be use for transferring
I watched an MRT extension video and they said that teck Lee will open when buildings are built
But no reports of making punggol north lrt
HDB Flats or condos need to be built there for Teck Lee to open. Since there are no apartments or estates,Teck Lee will never open.
