That was really educational. I initially studied traditional Aikido and was taught only defensive type moves, which is what I desired. It's always very interesting to see the adaptations that can be made to take that training to a different level if necessary. Further still, this proves that although Aikido is mostly a 'soft' art, those that put down Aikido as being weak and ineffective clearly do not understand the true hidden power that it provides.
Bwahahhaha it’s funny you guys actually believe this shit I will put my self agonist any of your blackbelts like I’m going to run at you lmao I get it though I thought Steven was a bad ass when I was growing up then I was introduced to other martial arts and found out the effectiveness of modern age martial arts spooked to the ancient art forms that’s exactly what this is it’s art . It’s not fighting.
The techniques in Alkido are 20, maximum 30 ...no more... everything else are variations - ojo waza and henka waza. The big master can fluently goes through the techniques, from one to another.
A very good reminder. I took aikido when I was in my 30's here in Baguio City, Philippines. Unfortunately, i stopped when my Sensei went to Japan. I only reached blue belt. I am now 61 years old and I exetcise every morning using the aikido moves which is my remembrance to this noble martial art. I still have my Ki No Ken Kyukai Tokyo lifetime membership ID. Thanks. .
Sir Morshay since the internets it is easier to learn quickly as long as we got some basics traing/understanding but then again train and train make perfect teotricaly it is easy but practicaly not fast or easy to master
Loved this video. Can't wait for the next one.i am very small but your videos give me confidence that if attacked in the inner city I live in,I won't go down easy without fighting.
Thank you for the slow motion detailed explanation of movements. It was very helpful seeing it put into perspective in the manner which you displayed. Thumbs Up!!!
I have been learning other styles that mimic the similar movements. Up until recently, I've never really taken interest in knowing the origins of where the came from. Thank you for the detailed breakdown.
Sensi please explain to students that to engage in defense against firearms takes 100 percent commitment same as edged weapons. You are a great teacher and I know that time is limited in the videos. It is those who study online that explained to them most as I am certain your DoJo pupils are taught.
In martial arts you must apply the appropriate technique to the situation in which you find yourself, and above all the objective is to immobilize your opponent and not to kill him
How bout some Aikido specific cardio exercises. I get worn out the fastest in my dojo, going only maybe 6 throws as Uke before I'm using my hands to push myself off the ground and slowing down significantly. I've started using the treadmill at the gym but perhaps there's exercises I can do on non-training days to help my Uke stamina.
I am curious and have to ask why so many arm movements are being done outside of the bodies center? In other words, outside of the "pyramid of power" that Aikido people are first taught...
+Catalin Denuve Yeah I always wonder that myself. While I can appreciate any martial art and the will power to practice one, I tend to wonder with Aikido why they always demonstrate on somebody quite a bit smaller than them. ie. shorter, lightweight especially. I want to see the "Cool" flips done to somebody over 6' and 200 pounds+! LOl
+Catalin Denuve Probably the fastest way to end such a fight is to kick the knee from an angle. It can overstretch the tendons or even break the joint. Unlike a tall guy, you can also do much more doging-throwing techniques. The problem is that you can't subdue opponents with minimal damage as stronger persons can. It's like threatening someone with a tiny knife rather than a big machete. You need to be unfortunately more aggressive to succeed.
some good basic movements. 2:36 with the knife, i wouldn't recommend going into the attackers centre with a knife attack. with small weapons the principle Sugano taught us was to increase the distance, again. Small weapons are hidden and concealed, they will not be used as a Ski, although this is a tecnhnique so fine for demonstrating. You want to double the distance between you and the attacker for knifes. Larger weapons you would make this distance smaller. Move off the line, as you did which was good timing, then you want to keep the knife as far away from you as possible so i would face the same way as the attacker and lead/extend through the arm. Knifes are hard to defend against in any style as they are unpredictable, basically unless you know what you are doing, i would run.
if you want to know more about tenshin aikido (seagals style) look up The last Tenshin Warrior, or The Rogue Warrior Training academy . those are the only guys on youtube that do that particular style any justice
+kmiranda322 Thanks! I didn't know about these. Seagals style is very direct without the huge circles in techniques that the majority of schools teach and without much videos of Seagal teaching but rather just many demonstrations its good to be able to see explanations. Cheers....
+salsalover69laters Actually just realized I had seen some Lenny Sly 's Combative Concepts videos and his technique is very good! Definitely well worth watching his videos for Tenshin style.
The first technique is the only really effective one of the five, however, it does not include a hand strike; it is a strike to the side of the neck with the inside forearm; also, it does not include a side step; it's actually a step passed the subject. When the technique is done effectively, the persons head will hit the ground, as his feet are still in the air. Steven Seagal teaches the same techniques against a kick at the beginning of "Above The Law."
I work as a prison guard in Indonesia. Silat and Aikido save my life 4 time in my line of work and make me return to my famly everyday safely.
I hate how people say Akido is useless in high school I use to practice akido it’s pretty useful

Exactly!

These techniques just gets better and better. So enjoy your teachings.

All of a sudden, everybody is a martial arts master and knows everything to martial arts in the comment section.
Sir Morshay since the internets it is easier to learn quickly as long as we got some basics traing/understanding but then again train and train make perfect teotricaly it is easy but practicaly not fast or easy to master
Sir Morshay I know huh. All these losers like to bad mouth other styles without even contributing a single useful thing.
Or maybe...just maybe some of us DO know better than this utter garbage🤔
Alex Scott
*Or maybe...just maybe some of us DO know better than this utter garbage*
Are you sure about that?
Zack Sure?...I'm fuckin positive kid.Don't you have some cartoons to watch?

Of all the forms I have studied over many years, this is the one I find the most impressive.
Loved this video. Can't wait for the next one.i am very small but your videos give me confidence that if attacked in the inner city I live in,I won't go down easy without fighting.
I love aikido wrist locks breaking balance with a gentle footworks.
Fantastic job explaining Aikido and it’s effects with Bruce Lee! Thank you so much!!
Never expected techniques so devastating that you have lost 5 good students ! May they rest in peace ...........
Thank you for the slow motion detailed explanation of movements. It was very helpful seeing it put into perspective in the manner which you displayed. Thumbs Up!!!
Thank you for taking the time to post. really enjoy them
Great video! I was curious if y'all would ever do a video on what you would do with your knowledge of Aikido to counter kicks.
Thanks we can try ..
I have been learning other styles that mimic the similar movements. Up until recently, I've never really taken interest in knowing the origins of where the came from. Thank you for the detailed breakdown.

Good technique there
awesome thanxs
Where do you give classes
I am curious and have to ask why so many arm movements are being done outside of the bodies center? In other words, outside of the "pyramid of power" that Aikido people are first taught...
Hi,can you do a video about how could you win a fight against a very larger oponent, thanks.
LOl
***** Yeah that's true, and also you can focus on hitting on groin, throath, solar plexux and after finishing with stgh from Aikido.
+Catalin Denuve Probably the fastest way to end such a fight is to kick the knee from an angle. It can overstretch the tendons or even break the joint.

Yes,that make sense, and it's ok if you do that just to defend yourself in my opinion.
Yes,absolutely, but sometime you don't have choice. If you can take him down whitout hurting him it's awesome.
I might start should i
I have just started aikido but all the time people say it is Fake but it is not and should I carry on
+theforge master thanks
Thank You!
Nice bike bro!
The last one is the best
Whats the name of the last one ?

i just want to ask about Steven seagal arms show that differ from Aikido is it karate techniques? or another martial arts ?
The one you have in your picture is from the latest Steven Seagal films. He took some stuff from Wing Chung and Kung Fu postures there.
Thank you andrea
Aikido where is it taught in Maine USA, onikiechmase?

Nice Videos.Keep going:) Pozdravy do UK..
Thumbs up. (for grabs)
Thanks for sharing!... 😘
It is bary nice I ❤ it
Awesome. COL Stoney - Ga.
Strong block strike hit opponent
IMO you have more of a responsibility to look into Tenshin Aikido techniques before trying to "demonstrate them" to your audience.
I agree
I'm inclined to agree. While I think this is a great channel, I believe some of the techniques have been slightly misinterpreted here.
The Physicality Channel Totally agree.
Tenshin Aikido is the REAL DEAL..this vid here is half heartedly showing moves which is deceptive and almost shows no substance with true application.
Gotcha....I study IchoRyu Aikijujutsu...comes from Yamate Ryu & Aikido blend...Lau family
where do you get about peaceful martial art?
thanks bro.
i wonder if the knife technique would work with a gun too?
Can I learned the move by watching videos because I don't have money for classes plus I'm in my state where they don't teach Aikido
he can also use his triangle hairpiece as a discus-style weapon
Watching here
Steven seagal and deadly should never be used in the same sentence 😂
He's the real deal tho. Anything with intent can be deadly.
steven seagal is deadliest

Steven Seagal teaches the same techniques against a kick at the beginning of "Above The Law."
very cool
The guy at 1:40 has hair that matches his belt!
Lol
HorridFroth
So does the other guy.
What's your point?
