I am from Pune, Maharashtra. We call it aluwadi in Marathi. We make the बेसन का घोल quite differently. We don't use ginger garlic or other खडे मसाले. We shallow fry the aluwadi and eat them. We dont put it in a gravy. It tastes yummy no doubt.

I wanted to say we call that Seina and we normally make it with 60%Urid dhal and 40 Chana dhal, we soak and food process like paste consistency, we don't add ginger and if it's for satwick then no garlic. Try using socked dhal, it tastes so delicious and instead of tamrind, we can use couple of lemons.
