Solo Winter Spiti in a Diesel Car. -31 Cold Start. P-2

- Took a solo trip to spiti in Altoz diesel. All possible things which fail in -20 to -30 were upgraded. Some of the upgrades I made : Engine Oil - Motul xmax "Freezing point -47 C" , Gear Oil - Motul "Freeing point around -45C" , Glow Plug - "Bosch Duraterm " *More updated models were not available in Altroz size , Coolant - "Castrol Heavy Duty - 1/3 Ratio -37 C Compatible. My battery was 450 CCA rated which was not good but worked fine.
I purchased a profoli antigel a year before the trip. May be the first thing I purchased for Winter Spiti and it was the only thing which was lost. Car Struggled a little because of not having antigel as diesel turned in gel.
Do note : Antigel itself freezes at 0C and works after mixing. When you carry one keep it at a warm place.
All this ensured my Car was stress free. At even -31 the engine made no harsh sounds. All clean as the engine oil worked perfectly fine. Motul oils are really premium oils.
Few mods like glow plug bypass was done but the switch was frozen.

4x2 Fortuner RWD without differential locks is suicide in these conditions. I daily drive one believe me I know. The Fortuner is very heavy, it needs 4x4 in low traction places, this could have ended very badly. The main problem is the open differential in the Indian spec Fortuner. The South African fortuner same spec has a rear differential lock!

Yes. Without Diff locks it cannot handle tricky conditions.

Yes, may be in future. But it is also fun for now to push this car to its limit.

Indian don't manufacture or import winter tyres for commercial sale, as per my market study.

Commendable! How is the dpf holding up? Any issues regarding that? And how are you managing it?
I don't drive slow in high gears or on half clutch. DPF is a rare issue but maine 2 baar ladakh trip kari ha issy and dono baar issue aya. 3rd ya 4th gear me high speed chalake hi solve hua. Ek baar 4-5 ghnate lag gae thy Leh ke outer pe even under Tata service centre supervision.

Thankyou. Gadi ko clutch pe ni chalana and jaha acchi road ko vaha high rpm and low gear pe chalana. DPF issue maine ladakh me face kra hai. 2 baar gya and dono baar issue raha. Chalake hi sort hua dono baar. Service centre p bhi ni ho rha tha.

Snow bound area mey gadi chalaney k liye skidchain bahut jaruri hai, aur ek bises type k tyre aati hai, wovi isteymaal kar saktey ho, meney 6 saal Niru& Gurej sectar mey gadi chalbaya hai, jo driver kavi snow mey gadi nahi chalaya hai wohi jada accident kartey hai, ye bahut jaan leba vi hota hai. Tyre ka grip aachha honeysey problem nahi hota hai.

Glow plug sign jane ke turant baad on karna hai, ye 10 sec wala topi kisne pehenaya aapko?
You have to start immediately glow plug sign goes off.
Sir ye topi bahut deep research or experiment ne pehnai hai. A video on YT confirmed it with proof. Maine khud phr wiring and bulb lekre experiment kra and glow plug had complete supply for 10 additional seconds. Uske baad glowplug bahar nikal ke gadi ko sirf ignition pe rakh ke dekha. Glow plug full power ke sath jal rha tha and additional 10 seconds kahtam hone ke bad vo low hona shuru hua. Recorded it to post a video but didn't posted.

@@Arriea9390 Glow plug red hi hota ha un 10 seconds ke baad bhi, infact apne highest temperature p tab hi pahuchte hai. -30 C me ek cycle heater plug ki kaafi ni hoti. Gurkha ki heater light 20 seconds tak jalti ha itni thand me and wo start ho jati ha but Thar ki sirf 10 second. Thar wale bhi agar 10 seconds wait krke self lenge to unke chances bhi badh jaenge start krne ke.
I would agree with you. The diesel should be injected on a glowing glow plug to ignite in such temperatures. Vehicle manufacturers too have done their research well to keep it glowing for 10 sec after lights go off.

Those bolero has SNOW TYRES i think. Thats why they dont need snow chains
As per my research Snow tyres are not sold in India. I believe they have good experience.

dost kitne time se diesel gadi chala rha hai kyuki teri knowldge ke hisab se tujhe thoda bohot pta hai .......... ek to tu bohot lambi self de rha hai dusra tune manual disel pump use kiya .... BS4 plus mei heated pump hote hai bs usko sahi tarike se key combination dena hota hai ......... ......maine rapid -40 tak use ki hai kabhi koi esa issue nahi ata bas kuch tips hai diesel mei 10:1 ka petrol ratio rakhna chahiye ..... glow plugs override and intake mei petrol spray kar diya kar .........
Sahi me thoda hi pta hai and daily kch seekhne ki koshish hi krta hu. Thode me itna bhi pta ha ki 10+ seconds ko lamba self kehte ha, agar apne company manual padi to pta hoga apko. Manual pumping ni krna tha ? Kyu de rakha ha pump vo ? Sahi key combination batayenge please ? Also 18 saal ke baccha start krdega German company ki car aise temp me. Skoda rapid and uski cars -40 tak ke temperature wale countries me manufacture of sell dono hoti ha. Unke oils and parts pe R&D ho rakhi ha extreme cold temperatures pe. Unke glow plug 3 sec me vo temp achieve kr lete ha jo Tata ke 30 sec me bhi ni krte. App Indian car lekr jaoge -30 me to spray hi krte reh jaoge. Diesel ke liye antigel ata ha, petrol dalana ek judadu solution ha bs. Thar, Gurkha kyu issu deti ha or German and Toyota kyu start ho jati hai same care and same precautions me ? Pata ha ? Because they are developed for -30 and less. Unka supply ki insulation and baaki sab us hisab se engineered hai.

Next time tank mai 10 rs ka petrol bhi add karwa lena. Diesel freeze ni hoga
Correct but maine 50 ka first day and 100 approx ka second day add kra tha. Kch khas difference ni tha. Bottle me bhi maine diesel me petrol add krakae dekha and poori raat bahar rakha. Uski gelling me bhi zada difference ni aya. This experiment is in next video.

Only Authorized service centre. Bahar karana is a bewakoofi. 2000 kum lekr 20k ka part kharab kr denge. Duplicate kit and engine oil ke chances bahut high hote hai.

@@akbarpashtun bhai advisors are good vo apna kaam ache se karte h but mechanics aur labours gadbad krte h.....brake cleaning nhi kri.....oil drain seal change nai kri ac filter bhi gnda chhod dia .....fr washing me kuch leaves fase the gadi ke calltop me pressure air se nikalke sukha wiper chala dia aur windhield pe scratches maar die + viper bhi cut gaya......Cleaning k naam p brown paper rkh dia....ghr jake uthaya to niche sab gnda tha engine bay bhi saaf nai kia ....and its very top service center in our area and also biggest... chhote wale to aur zyada bekar h vha roz ladai hoti h(logo ki service center se)......islie muje mazboori me bahar krani padti h
@@priyanksingh2974 Andar hi karao aap. Bahar mostly copy hota ha, engine oil se lekr filters tak. Your car will age fastly. Jaha kumi ho vaha aap usse kehke doobara karao or billing pe discount lo.

Inhone kisi ke kehne pe cross lagadi. Usne bhi iski gaadi pe 4x4 dekh ke recommend kra hoga.

Diesel engines dont have spark plugs, diesel engine me piston ke compress hone se aag pakadta ha. Jab air thandi hoti ha to compress hone ke baad bhi air or diesel itna garam ni hota ki burn ho. Glow plug garam krne me help krte ha. Winters me glow plug sign jaane ke baad gadi start krenge to engine behtr rahega.

How 8000 RPM in a Diesel car?
Yes, may be they run out of ODO in 2020. It wouldn't go above 5k.
