I've been getting some suggestions of things to watch after Sherlock. Just so you all know, I will be starting up Black Mirror Season 3 in it's place :) Hope some of you are excited!!
I'd like to suggest watching the Granada Television version of Sherlock Holmes. If you haven't read the books, they're very faithful to them, and Jeremy Brett was the definitive Holmes.
Man, that Molly scene. Cumberbatch is such a good actor. That moment where he struggles to say it the first time, and then he pauses and says it a second time without a struggle, with a look on his face like he's surprised to find himself actually meaning it. Lovely.
And nah, I don't think you're really supposed to have sympathy yourself for her, but maybe you're supposed to understand why her family still loves her even after all she put them through.
And him destroying the coffin like that was just awesome. Ironically, showing him being a bit emotionally unstable really showed his growth as a character
I just don't understand why people hate this episode so much, it's my favourite from the whole show! The good scenes easily outweigh the weaker scenes in my opinion, the Molly call and the choice between killing John and Mycroft are some of the best moments the show has ever had. Also, the actress of Eurus was phenomenal.
@@JohnnyLCob The reason people didn't like it is because 80% of the watchers of this show solely watched it for John and Sherlock to become romantically involved, and got angry when they didn't.
From A Scandal in Belgravia. Mycroft Holmes: My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher and yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart? Dr. John Watson: I don't know. Mycroft Holmes: Neither do I. But initially, he wanted to be a pirate. Thanks to this episode we all know why Shelock who could've been anything , choose to become a detective. It's interesting that a man that is so well known for his mind, is actually lead by his heart.
@@HumanTypewriterNo, he didn’t try to be his sister. It’s his feelings towards his friend that made him unable to solve his sister’s puzzle. He was protecting everyone around him unconsciously by cutting out his emotions and devoting his life to solving crimes.
I dont think this is about the sister and having sympathy for her. I think this is about understanding Sherlock better and get to see what he could have become if he had not have a best friend (Watson). She did it according to her because of nothaving a best friend and remember in the first episode and in Reichenbach Falls how almost everybody in the police (Except Greg) believed that Sherlock is a psychopath. So I guess this episode is about acknowledging Watson´s Importance to Sherlock

YellowBunny According to Moffat she got drunk, shagged a stranger and got over it. He also said that it affected Sherlock more than it affected Molly. Which just shows he has no understanding of women at all.
she overcame it. Do you really think Molly believed that 'I love you' was genuine? In fact, it was very dishonest of her to corner Sherlock to say that, knowing that the poor boy did not have that kind of feeling for her. In the end, she's happy (and alone) visiting Sherlock's new apartment, John and Rosie, as if she's saying, 'Hey, the remodel's been great, your apartment looks gorgeous!' It is what it is.
This is one of coolest episodes made of all TV. Maybe it is far-fetched, but it is original and just fun to watch. Plus, it gives me more to think about than I can handle. It shows how people respond when they must make deadly decisions. I see a new side to Mycroft when he refuses to shoot the guy. And when John takes the gun from Sherlock, I see how strong he really is. And then we see Mycroft volunteer to be killed by Sherlock, and I am blown away by how strong and selfless he is. People's true selves come out when we are put into these life-threatening situations. That bit John says about being a soldier is so powerful. I think Euros is one of the most fascinating characters written. She's terrifying and infinitely complex. Yet, I still love Moriarty more. When he came off that helicopter, I was sure he was alive and I was so happy. And then when they showed that it was a flashback, I was so pissed off. I (and so many fans) desperately wanted him to still be alive. But his recordings that interrupted Sherlock, John, and Mycroft were hilarious. Your reaction to finding out that Redbeard was a boy gave me the chills. Just that look of horror on your face made Euros' actions so much more terrifying. (This show got so dark.) It was also interesting to see you find out some of Mycroft's flaws and yet still love him. You were also really good at predicting what would happen! You thought the Moriarty part was a flashback, that the coffin was for Molly, that someone was messing with Mycroft in that beginning scene (with the clown), that Mycroft was trying to make it easier for Sherlock to kill him, and that the girl on the plane might not be real. These were all things I did not predict, so I'm really impressed that you did. So I wanna save my questions for your review of series 4. But I do wanna ask everyone, do you think Sherlock meant it when he said "I love you" to Molly? He said it twice and that tone in his voice was so emotional. I'm so conflicted as to what to think. If he's in love with her, I feel like it came out of nowhere, but maybe I'm wrong.
Yes, if Sherlock said that I love you genuinely, then really the feeling came out of nowhere, because nothing in the show holds any feeling of love between them, other than that of friends. He repeated the 'I love you' because Molly was taking time to respond and time was ticking. He thought there was a bomb there. Note that everyone, not just Sherlock, breathed a sigh of relief when Molly finally answered. Obviously Sherlock would say a thousand 'I love you' if it meant saving one of his friends, and that's exactly what Molly is. Eurus did not even care about Molly to put a real bomb there. Eurus did not see Molly as a threat most likely because she knew that love was only on Molly's part, not Sherlock. Think, she killed Victor just because he was her best friend. What would Eurus not have done with Sherlock's supposed 'love'? So in my opinion it's: No. Sherlock does not love Molly and they are not together at the end.
You were not supposed to have sympathy for her, but to understand why Sherlock would still play violin with her in the end and what could have happened to Sherlock without Redbeard, Molly, Mycroft, his parents, Mary, John, the Heavy Metel landlady, Irene and Inspector George (can not get the name right out of respect to Sherlock). The people in Sherlock's life allowed him to become a better person (to gain his heart), his Sister did not have that
And to echo others, I really liked this episode. People sometimes get bogged down in the original Sherlock and I understand why. But in modernizing Sherlock, Mark Gatiss (Mycroft) and Moffatt did a pretty decent job, if you ask me.
The thing with Eurus is that she, like her siblings, was much smarter than the people she was around and it caused her to distance herself from them. However, despite that, she couldn't understand emotions and never really got the chance because she was sent off at such a young age. Everyone around her treated her like a thing, even Mycroft treated her like a resource. The only person she even remotely liked in the world was Sherlock and being taken from him probably caused what little emotional sanity to dissipate. In her mind, she was playing a game because games were all she had left. Sure she killed a bunch of people, but to her, they weren't people, They were playthings. It's how she coped. Feeling sorry for Eurus isn't easily done because like everyone around her, the audience is logically presented with her actions and they didn't really focus on the motivation behind those actions. That's why Sherlock was able to forgive her and accept her. He understood that deep down all she wanted to do was be like everybody else, just like he did.
Coming back to these reactions - man I love how much you love Mycroft haha. He defo is one of the most interesting characters in this show and deserved more love.
I know a lot of people hate Series 4 cos.. I don't even know.. But I really don't have any problems with it. I think the problem is that people expect every episode to be a 10/10. I personally don't hate any episode of Sherlock and I thought the fourth Series was better than the third. Especially because of The Lying Detective. And we don't know for sure that it was the last episode. They don't even know themselves. They wanna do more once everyone is available so it won't happen that early but Sherlock was never a show to return very early
Sherlocks second ILY to Molly though. Totally a coming of age realization that there are some feelings there. That was told by the coffin smashing too. I was pissed they didn't give us a conversation with her after and they did that because they wanted us to interpret it. Ugh
My favorite part of the whole episode "Her Christmas treat, five minutes alone with Jim Moriarty..........five minutes......unsupervised" And then the looks on the other two's faces like OH SON OF A
I really loved this, and even in the end I followed Sherlock's feelings--that in the end he felt sympathy for someone utterly, totally alone, so alone she was broken deeper than either of her brothers ever were.
Mrs. Hudson is so cool. This is my fovourite Episode . It is sooooooooooooooo exciting and the past of the holmes brothers is so so so sad and horrible😢😢
Honestly, I did not care for this episode as a whole. It had good moments (the bit with Molly was good, definitely) but there were so many logical inconsistencies and problems with the episode's overall plot that I just found myself disconnected from it. This was a real low point for Sherlock as a series, at least from my perspective. I think you have the right idea for sitting and thinking on your thoughts on it. The characters have always been, in my eyes, the best part of Sherlock - and it felt like they just were put into a situation that was so far from believable that I had trouble accepting it. But that's the point of reactions and reviews - we're not all gonna stand on the same footing regarding how we feel, and that's cool.
I think the episode did the worst thing an episode could do, it diminished the previous seasons. That was already an issue with The empty hearse, not because they never really explained how Sherlock actually did it, but because him jumping from the roof was never done to fool the sniper, but John and John alone. But this one really doubled down on it.
If the sniper was aiming at John, he must have followed from Baker Street - possibly no way Moriarty would have guessed what John would do, so the sniper had to follow him. From this moment we can easily assume he was standing in plain sight, or near plain sight (hiding his gun under his coat). He had no reason to go and look to what was happening behind the ambulance parking spot. So the sniper wouldn't see Sherlock not dying and would have told the others.
Damn, the moment when she does't even feel emotional on the part when their flat was destroyed. Me when i was watching i almost cried like a kid when their flat was destroyed then plus the music. Damn, feels like i watched my own house explode.
Funny episode - always in two minds about it - some of the dialog and emotional stuff is great - and Mycroft is great in it - but the plot itself leaves me cold, and the set-pieces which are done well, still feel like they're in the wrong show. I think the show had started to look inward too much by this season - and while it's got one of the best episodes at all 'The Lying Detective' in it - I'm fairly happy that the show drew to a conclusion at this episode, because I wouldn't at all be surprised if this episode was the one where it jumped the shark big time.
Like you, I think, I found this quite a frustrating episode, but it had some nice set pieces in it and I very much enjoyed seeing your reactions to them. Let's hope if they ever do any more you're still around and reacting!
Moffat: Ah yeah, sorry, those were just jokes, we didn't intend to turn them into gay couple. Johnlockers: We know better you morons, we read fanfic theories M: But come on guys, it's not the story we want to tell. J: You are lying, Johnlock exists, why then people call them gay all the time? M: We are just making fun of this generation by putting that in the show. J: No you don't, we know better, why then Jon cried when Sherlock presumably died? M: Eh, people cry when their best friend dies you know. Guys, Sherlock is not gay, he is not straight, we are not planning any romance. J: Guys, Sherlock is not straight - Johnlock confirmed M: You don't understand, I'm the writer you know, and I'm telling you exactly that it isn't happening. J: We UNDERSTAND, we read fanfic theories, are you discriminating fan fiction? M: Wait, what? J: Guys, Moffat disrespects us... ah yeah, is that death threat to Amanda Abbington ready? M: I'm writing a story about detective here, can you ask me anything about the story goddamit, I'm sick of these Johnlock questions. J: Guys guys, Steven Moffat was disrespectful, he just doesn't understand the story structure of Sherlock. M: I'm the one who is writing this story. J: Sherlock called John a family, how about that huh? M: Look at how scene was constructed, Mycroft becomes upset when Sherlock says that, which means that Sherlock is calling John a brother...a far better brother than Mycroft. It's not a romance story, you are deviating from the point J: Absolute lie M: Whatever, do what you want... J: Guys Moffat admitted it - Johnlock confirmed. M: But I didn't...ugh whatever Mark Gatiss: People, John and Sherlock are not couple, there is no plan, there's nothing wrong with it, I'm gay, just it's not what we are trying to do here. J: Guys Gatiss confirms that there is nothing wrong with it - Johnlock confirmed. MG: Eh, no guys, that's not what I meant. J: Guys Mark Gatiss was disrespectful towards us fans, creators of the show don't respect us. MG: But I didn't say anything bad. J: That means Johnlock confirmed...we read fanfic theories. MG: Whatever, I don't care. J: Death threats...
Snicker Snack I absolutely agree with you, I was just making fun of fanatic shippers or whatever people call them nowadays. I am ok with those who see their relationship in a romantic way, it's their perception of a story and I have no right to change it or judge them for that. I just don't like when people start trashing the show or send death threats to actors and creators just because their interpretation of story wasn't fully confirmed or didn't come true.
Oh god, I hate "death of the author". It might be because I am an amateur writer and the idea that people can tell me to fuck off because they know what I meant to write better than I do just galling, but seriously. I hate it.
I don't get why people think Sherlock and John are going to get together. Sure, John's wife is now dead, leaving him single again, but I think Sherlock would go for Molly.
Girl from the plane previously appeared as different character in 2x01, wondering with older sister why she wasn't allowed to see grandpa after his death
I don't think season 4 is as bad as people say however I don't think it fits with the overall tone of the show. If it were its own separate story I believe it would be appreciated more, or if the show was already that dark. Like you I feel the characters are the true heart of the show, while I enjoy the cases I do think its brilliant that they aren't the main focus. Season 4 wasn't as character driven as normal, it was more about solving all these issues that, as you said, were quite far fetched and that may be the reason people didn't take it very well. If they do another season I hope it goes back to is roots and is about the relationship of the characters as well as solving more realistic cases.
You more them likely know by now that the actor's playing the parents of Sherlock are Benedict Cumberbatch real parents and they have been on a few show with the actress that plays Mrs Hudson.
"Oh my God. I was wondering where the fuck you were" LOL. When I first watched The Final Problem, I enjoyed most of the episode. I just felt the ending was a bit rushed. I understood why that was the case. Moffat didn't know when or if Sherlock will come back. But it still left me somewhat dissatisfied. And I didn't think another post-death video of Mary was needed to assure us that Sherlock and John will continue to have adventures together.
I enjoyed this episode for what it was but series four did lose some of the simplicity from the first two series. I think it just thought it was something more than it was, which is just a simple detective show. The Moriarty tease was frustrating too, I understand he's a popular character and I love Andrew Scott every time he's on the show but to tease him in series three, having to wait three years for an answer just to be told he was dead all along just felt like the equivalent of click baiting in a way.
I dont know why everyone hates this episode. To be honest,i loved this episode very much.Infact,it had no usual sherlock and watson team up bt i really liked it.Molly and Sherlock scn,Mycroft tells sherlock to kill him and the redbeard was his friend not the dog, these scns were really good.
It's been great watching your Sherlock reactions. I thought the ending was a nice way to go out. Probably not the right time, but can I suggest Peaky Blinders as a replacement for Sherlock.
My heart broke always when i watched the Story of the Holmes boys💔. I always cry. I feel so sorry for them😯 and a little Bit for Eurus but only a little bit🙁. This is My favourit Episode I love it😍😍. Poor redbeard/Victor Trevor😢😢
It's probably the last episode ever as well, considering most people thought the episode was garbage (which it kinda is). Not joking - some people decided that a show that premiered afterwards called "Apple Tree Yard" was a secret 4th episode that would excuse 4x03. lol. Sherlock is a good TV show, but definitely not a good Sherlock Holmes adaptation.
Thing is, the only people who really bought into that theory were Johnlock people who only said they hated it because their ship wasn't made canon and another one was....sort of. (You never really know 100% with Sherlock.) They wanted John and Sherlock to get married and bang or some shit, and since they didn't, they're angry.
the problem was that this asked people to be able to follow and think at the same time and when people could not, they blamed the show, instead of their inability to use logic and reason
You overestimate the show. Sherlock withholds information from the viewer and pulls information out of thin air (the murderer was a fictional serial killer we'd never even heard mentioned before?) in order to make Sherlock look smarter. Most other Sherlock Holmes adaptations give you all the information and make Sherlock look smart by having him put it together in a way nobody else could. BBC's Sherlock makes him seem smart with snappy editing and cheap tricks. Not to mention the worst episode, "A Scandal in Belgravia" where it turns the woman who outsmarted Sherlock (and was the hero of the story where he was essentially the villain) into a one-note character who's bested by Sherlock. You've been duped by the massive budget the BBC threw at this show. It's not smart, you're just gullible.
LiveHedgehog well thank goodness you were here to set us all straight. I have just one question, if it was so trite and full of garbage, why would you watch someone react to it? What did you get out of all of this? Was it just the need to feel intellectually superior? Maybe you should write your own show and put it on TH-cam, seeing though you have all the answers
A show that's known for being clever ends with a rip-off of a cheesy, no-brain B-movie that most people think are 'so bad they're good'. It's really weird how that happened.
I really enjoyed the episode when I watched it. However very soon after I remembered re Redbeard that I had seen the same thing in Zombieland and then I remembered the final episode of M*A*S*H and lost all my respect for this episode.
So all of Sherlock exists because a throwaway line "5 minutes with Jim Moriarty unsupervised" that happened offscreen 5 years ago. This is why this episode and season is garbage. Just make up some random reason that tries to explain the entire situation.
Yeah for the era of "my opinion is the only one that can be voiced, everyone else shut up and stop ruining my snowflake moment" and just to add more melting of snow, this episode was, for me, indeed a typical Moffat "I no longer have respect for the property, someone take my word processor off me" moment.
This is far and away my least favourite episode of Sherlock. The silly Saw tasks, Euros and Moriarty doing their ridiculous snake-dance thing, us meant to feel sympathy for Euros when she MURDERED A CHILD (!), Sherlock and John magically teleporting from the island to the Holmes house and the way they seem to be trying to make Sherlock and John into superheroes instead of detectives with their run out of the house at the end. Genuinely thought it was awful. Now that the Sherlock reactions are over, will you be filling the gap with any other shows? :)

Ugh
My favorite part of the whole episode
"Her Christmas treat, five minutes alone with Jim Moriarty..........five minutes......unsupervised"
And then the looks on the other two's faces like OH SON OF A
So, Mr and Mrs. Holmes at the end are actually Cumberbatch real parents.
Yes. Suspected this the first time I saw the father. They look so alike 😀
I really loved this, and even in the end I followed Sherlock's feelings--that in the end he felt sympathy for someone utterly, totally alone, so alone she was broken deeper than either of her brothers ever were.
When Mycroft is talking about Eurus, was anyone else reminded of Simon talking about River in Firefly?
I don’t care what people say I fucking love this episode
I think you’d enjoy supernatural. I’d love to see your reactions to that
This is why I pointed out that you said mycroft had a ❤️
Mrs. Hudson is so cool. This is my fovourite Episode . It is sooooooooooooooo exciting and the past of the holmes brothers is so so so sad and horrible😢😢
Happy to be a part of your #notificationsquad.
"K, but, like, is John drowning in a well?" - Jess, with the *correct priorities!*
this is by far my favourite episode.
Watch Merlin :)
Could you please list the logicial inconsistences, people always write that, but no one every list what they are
I think the episode did the worst thing an episode could do, it diminished the previous seasons. That was already an issue with The empty hearse, not because they never really explained how Sherlock actually did it, but because him jumping from the roof was never done to fool the sniper, but John and John alone. But this one really doubled down on it.
Yeah, after this episode I was perfectly fine with them just ending the series.
DJ Sakura that’s why your mom does not fucken love you >:{
Damn, the moment when she does't even feel emotional on the part when their flat was destroyed.
I loved watching your reactions to Sherlock. Who is your favourite character (apart from Mycroft)?
Like you, I think, I found this quite a frustrating episode, but it had some nice set pieces in it and I very much enjoyed seeing your reactions to them. Let's hope if they ever do any more you're still around and reacting!
21:13 because it's true
Moffat: Ah yeah, sorry, those were just jokes, we didn't intend to turn them into gay couple.
Johnlockers: We know better you morons, we read fanfic theories
M: But come on guys, it's not the story we want to tell.
J: Guys, Sherlock is not straight - Johnlock confirmed
M: You don't understand, I'm the writer you know, and I'm telling you exactly that it isn't happening.
It's not a romance story, you are deviating from the point
J: Absolute lie
M: Whatever, do what you want...
J: Guys Moffat admitted it - Johnlock confirmed.
M: But I didn't...ugh whatever
Mark Gatiss: People, John and Sherlock are not couple, there is no plan, there's nothing wrong with it, I'm gay, just it's not what we are trying to do here.
This was fun. TY! So glad this #Whovian was able to watch you react to my *other* favorite show! #Sherlock #Sherlocked
I LOVED watching this episode for the first time
Her reaction at 2:28 , adorable...
;)
Hey, did the Sherlock Christmas Special reaction video get flagged/removed?
I love mycroft so much!!!!!!💕
Yeah, I couldn't drum up any sympathy for the sister. But Moffatt is famous for trying to make the unlikable, likable.
You more them likely know by now that the actor's playing the parents of Sherlock are Benedict Cumberbatch real parents and they have been on a few show with the actress that plays Mrs Hudson.
Nice to see some love for Mycroft. Everyone seems to shit on him all the time.
20.000 subs. Congrats
Hopefully not your last reaction to Sherlock.
ScotiaNova Wilkinson There’s no confirmation of Series 5 so it might be :/
Martin said he'd love to do another series and Benplesniffle said he'll play Sherlock until he's an old man so that's another two series for us XD
But you should see - she was alone ... As a kid . Even for people like her or Sherlock or Mycroft ... It's hard 😂
"This b***h" 😂❤
this episode is Saw with the Samarra from the Ring running the games.
You could start Once Upon A Time since Sherlock is over now:)
emia YES
emia PLEASE
Oh yeah!!!!
It's not her fault she turned out this way. That's how psychopats work. But she's no ordinary psychopat. She's a high functioning psychopat.
It's been great watching your Sherlock reactions. I thought the ending was a nice way to go out. Probably not the right time, but can I suggest Peaky Blinders as a replacement for Sherlock.
It's been a fun journey with you. :)
I could even see Sherlock destroying the coffin but I heard it and like I really want to cry again that scene hit me so hard
Calling all Mycroft fans, hello!
A LITTLE BIT far fetched? Still good.
I liked it but meh compared to the other episodes and series 4 felt like a new show. There's hope that series 5 will go back to a more Sherlock vibe
no more new episodes, so we should move on to complain about other shows
I loved this show so much but, let's be honest, the fake violin playing was truly shocking!!!!!
damn i dont like that guessed it was a flashed back
Redbearb 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Not final. There will be a 5TH season
My heart broke always when i watched the Story of the Holmes boys💔. I always cry. I feel so sorry for them😯 and a little Bit for Eurus but only a little bit🙁. This is My favourit Episode I love it😍😍. Poor redbeard/Victor Trevor😢😢

-HI BABYYY!!HI BABEEEYY
It's probably the last episode ever as well, considering most people thought the episode was garbage (which it kinda is). Not joking - some people decided that a show that premiered afterwards called "Apple Tree Yard" was a secret 4th episode that would excuse 4x03. lol.
Sherlock is a good TV show, but definitely not a good Sherlock Holmes adaptation.
Thing is, the only people who really bought into that theory were Johnlock people who only said they hated it because their ship wasn't made canon and another one was....sort of. (You never really know 100% with Sherlock.)
They wanted John and Sherlock to get married and bang or some shit, and since they didn't, they're angry.
the problem was that this asked people to be able to follow and think at the same time and when people could not, they blamed the show, instead of their inability to use logic and reason
LiveHedgehog I actually rather liked the episode and the vast majority of my friends did too. Then again, we're not from Great Britain, so...
Not a throwaway line, not offscreen. Bitch all you want, but don't distort facts.
I was so surprised to see mycroft in doctor who
Oh my god, this episode is
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUMB
Real low note to end the series on.
yet you had to come comment? I would really like an answer to why you chose to do that? What do you get out of it?
Because people are here to watch Sesska react. Shockingly, they can have different opinions from her
lvis11tj7 I get to voice my opinion. Is there a reason I shouldn't have?
It's an opinion. I also thought it was a car crash of an episode.
Yeah for the era of "my opinion is the only one that can be voiced, everyone else shut up and stop ruining my snowflake moment" and just to add more melting of snow, this episode was, for me, indeed a typical Moffat "I no longer have respect for the property, someone take my word processor off me" moment.
Series 4 is so shit. Genuinely it's lost what it used to be that made it a great show
then why are you here? What purpose did this serve for you, to come do this. If you don't like it why click on it?
lvis11tj7 because I like her reactions and wanted to see if her opinion was different to mine, I can watch what I like?
Yes you can. Then others can reply to your reply. That' s how it works. Get it?
when questioned you immediately become the victim? Sorry to have triggered, you, I will not make the mistake to converse with you anymore
lvis11tj7 lol what are you on about? I'm giving my opinion on series 4, I don't understand what you're talking about
This is far and away my least favourite episode of Sherlock.
(sighs) So dumb...this episode is so dumb...
I annoyed my husband with so many questions after this because I couldn’t figure out what was happening. Especially the end bit.
WTF YOU GOTTA MORE VIDEO PART NOT ONLY VOICE
She does it to avoid copyrights.
She probably wishes she could
