Your putting that 5.11 piece on backwards... It slides behind the molle strap with the open mouth facing outward. That's how it stays secured to your gear. You have it open mouth facing inward.
I first found you when I was looking at watches and stumbled onto some of your videos. I liked your videos so I subbed and started watching your edc weeklies. I am now very much in love with edc and am happy that I found your channel. Thanks to you and everybody else behind the camera.
I daily carry a skeletool, I use the carabineer as a pocket clip. I clip the carabineer on the top seem of my pocket. It locks real well, but it takes some practice to unclip it.
+1 for "don't like the skeletool because the pocket clip sucks". I started using the carabiner end to clip to the corner of my pocket instead, which actually stays in place, but then you burn through jeans even faster
I have to rotate the pocket clip and bend it back every 6 months or so, but if you just rotate it 90 and give it a good bend when you feel it getting loose it's good to go for a while
The Curl is by far my favorite leatherman. I swapped a couple preferred tools in and finally have a multitool that checks my specific boxes in an excellent form factor. Only took 8 years of trial and error with dozens of tools.
I might grab one of the 5:11 hard points for my work backpack. I have been using the James brand carabiner now for something like 5 years now and it’s still perfect aside from the visible wear. The hard point would be a perfectly secure way to clip it to my bag. The last knife I got at bass pro was the benchmade 940 specifically for a build since they had them on sale for $99 at the time. It ended up with rockscale critter scales, lynch clip, blue hardware all over and a BGM hollow regrind. It goes to work with me and gets absolutely thrashed on. Not abused, but definitely used hard. I don’t like benchmade as a whole, but $99 was a damn good deal for a classic like the 940.
the wallet looks like my favorite part of that. Overall, a great setup. Good Knife, Good light, Good multitool, solid wallet, and that cool 5:11 stuff. I like it.
Yeah, I've done it in the past to some success. They don't like Amazon, which Amazon was the only place cheaper on that ZT. It was $230 at BHQ, SMKW, etc.
The Sencut Tynan is my current Edc. It sucks that not that many channels talked about it because of all the Sencut button locks… but it really is great for the price. That 10Cr is basically VG10.
I love my ZT 0450, I got mine back when they were a bit cheaper at $188 instead of the $230+ that they are now. Really solid knife and I titanium anodized mine sky blue.
I use that wallet and the nite ize use for my work keys (to keep in bag). The wallet fits a decent amount of stuff but def helped me have a lighter thinner wallet. I also now have a small set of keys I always carry.
...I guess I am the one person on the planet who will NEVER want a pocket clip on ANY tool that I carry. Yes, I do have pocket clips on my pocket folders (and I absolutely hate it)... but I carry my Surge in a Deadskin leather sheath on my belt, and I also carry [at least one] fix blade daily, but my folder(s) are just dropped into my pocket. A Silat buddy of mine frequently (when I see him) continually challenges me to a quick draw, and we pretty much ALWAYS tie... he uses the pocket clip on his folders. I can ALWAYS access the orientation of any blade I carry immediately... always. It just turns into an immediate Saksak or Pakal orientation of the blade, and then it [immediately] will go into its proper (most functional use). Over the years of doing this very functional little game with Craig, both of us have proven to each other that we have our [situation] down to the blink of an eye, really, and because we are clearly both stupid people, we have cut each other more than once. It's literally a [to each their own thing], but for me, I'll NEVER prefer a pocket clip on my folders.... although I pretty much keep them on the tool, and then just don't use the clip. As always, wonderful video Taylor, please keep up the wonderful work, good sir. Please be well. 🤔
Aside from the new model they recently put out, ZT actually released a run of multiple of their most popular knives in magnacut. The 0450, 0452, 0562 (basically a ZT XM-18), and the 0350. I REALLY want to get one of the magnacut 0452s.
I have the Carhartt wallet in black and Carhart has a Caribbean clip that attaches to that small D ring on the wallet. It’s fantastic I’ve had it for over a year held up pretty well
I love this one. I carry the Carhartt every day. I saw the ZT and was shocked it was under $500, I'm pretty new to EDC, but I thought their knives were pretty spendy.
The kinzua is pronounced kin-zoo. The A is silent. Named after a bridge that was blown down in a tornado on the upper Allegheny. They fortified the piece that was still standing and made it an overlook. There’s a dam by the same name up there too. We do kayak trips up there all the time.
I'd used streamlight for years and they are undoubtedly good but ever since I've switched to the Olight AA rechargeable and then to the Aroura A3 I haven't even thought about streamlight. This a from a mechanics perspective that hooks his small flashlight to his hat bill so I can use both hands working on stuff.
I was trying to see how this stuff would not only cost $500 but be worth $500. I've had a simple edc that maybe cost me $25 to put together. Folding/ locking blade knife Various free pens used for business promos Different notebooks from dollar store Just a regular no name multi tool used almost everyday Simple key rings attached to a locking carabiner A nice leather wallet that holds my credit card type metal flat multi tool A small either dollar store or Walmart rear push two finger thick flashlight. Over 10 years old will replace when it breaks, with a usb rechargeable light from temu for about $6. Now don't get me wrong. I love those higher quality higher priced, made in the USA, EDC and camping gear. But there's a difference of enjoying your content and an average Joe going out and spending around half of a week's pay or even a truck payment on this stuff. As always thanks for creating these videos. 💪📺🎥👍
I see your point but remember you don’t have to buy it all at once. You can upgrade a little at a time as things break or wear out. It definitely doesn’t always have to be expensive stuff just a little better quality for slightly more money.
Most of the things he has aren't top of the line quality for price though, for example the knife... ZT's are nice but you can get a kershaw or spyderco with a better steel grade for longevity/toughness at a much cheaper cost; just simply paying for brand at a certain point. As for flashlights, your average person only needs 300-700 lumens, which you can find decent ones for under 30 dollars. Key organizers and stuff are cool, but you can have the same effect with key rings and paracord, just need to build it yourself. And pens/wallets? only real difference in price is external materials, debatably "fashion" points.. seeing as a 4 dollar pen will do the same job at 400 dollar pen will, same with wallets (outside of RFID protection, of course).
the only real thing I can say the more you pay, the better you get is watches to an extent. obviously a rolex isnt the greatest price-quality ratio from a functionality standpoint, but if you compare a chinese made watch from walmart to a decent watch from even a jewlery store you'll see a difference in quality.. For example compare a 12 dollar george's watch from walmart to a 300 dollar eco-drive citizen, the 12 dollar watch might last 3 years with no issues, but the citizen can run for 20 or more on average.
TI watches now have a glow marker at the 12 O'Clock position on the bezel that I don't like. Wish the one you had was still sold, i would get one real quick.
This setup is pretty close to mine. ZT 0450 Ti $188 (titanium QSP Penguin if I want to switch it up, I also occasionally carry a Benchmade Adamas Manual) Leatherman Wave+ $110 Calvin Klein leather wallet $20-$30? (I recieved as a gift for christmas because my Columbia leather wallet was worn to hell) Olight I3T Titanium $30 (great little light that I often clip to my boonie) Civivi flame anodized titanium carabiner $30 (I almost exclusively use it to open beer and juaritos) Cowboy BeBop key lanyard $12 (Because I'm still in the age range where it's normal to have key lanyards, lol) I don't always carry a pen but when I do it's something simple like a G2 that you get by the dozen Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 (I only use it to tell time and count steps)
@@erictalkington5674 I have no problem paying more for quality from a independent small business, but I'm just saying often they're charging 3x for something inferior in quality. For example, local pizza places you can buy from one of the retail chains or pay $5-10 and get something that's much better and helps keep a small business around. If they're charging a premium there has to be a reason to justify it not just - we're a small business. I'm not going to pay $20 for a pizza I can get at Little Ceasars for $5-7. But I will pay 3-4x the price for a pizza that taste 10x better than the garbage pizza Little Ceasars sells.
After last blade show, I decided to carry cheaper stuff to see how it all performed compared to the expensive top tier stuff in the edc groups. Sog folding knife, Coast rechargeable cr123 light, a sog power pint, carhartt wallet from tractor supply, diamond carby for the keys. Cheapo gshock watch. And so far? Everything works and does whats needed, just like my expensive stuff haha. Next year will see how this stuff has endured! Love your videos. Also, had to do new "acquire on site", for edc as I flew into Vegas for SHOT show hahaha. milwaukee utl knife, gerber tool, a coast flashlight, etc, from home depot.
Most fun part of my life is what 5$ tajima knife push out m390 custom, bench 940 and zt0566 out my pocket. Seriously. It’s like I first use knife as secondary with 9mm blades, but I understand what I use it more than all my knife, so i stop carry folders.
belt pouch is most underrated leatherman gear, it keeps your pockets so much easier to access without a big ass bulky leatherman in the way. gotta love the belt pouch.
To be fair You can get a pocketclip for the surge. Some people prefer to sheath carry the surge. (I can't it feels way heavier in the sheath than in the pocket I know that's weird )
I still have and wear my chain wallet - big and chunky, it's lightweight utility chain (1/8" link) loosely braided. 😁 I've seen those G-series Nite-ize at Lowe's, but I still prefer their #2 locking S-biner for most things. I do wish they were stainless, though - also love the regular #2 S in stainless.
I've always loved that Sinkevich. So much that I've bought it twice, and both times that clip just bugged me. It seems like such a cheap clunky afterthought on such a slick knife.
Awesome choices - very nicely done. It would be cool to see you make a video where you make the best edc using only european products, or australian…etc. Keep up the stellar work 👍👍
Taylor I think you can still order the ZT low-rider pocket clips directly from them. Just tell them your original clip broke. I think it's the same clip used on the 0560/0561 series. I don't like the included clip either so ordered one for my ZT0450 as soon as I got it.
A while back you showed a fixed scalpel bar? You mentioned that is was cnc made by a friend of yours, I can’t remember what video you mentioned it in. Do you have any idea of what I’m talking about?
Where to do keep your leatherman? I hate the pouch, but I feel like I already have enough crap in my pockets, I don’t really need something else lol I have consider carrying in my back pocket, but haven’t tried it out yet.
Hey Martin- I’ve been watching your videos for years- I wanted to ask you why you don’t discuss Cold Steel knives in your videos- thanks for the videos brother! God bless
I honestly think the ZT0450 is a nicer and better everyday knife than the Benchmade 940… I have both and bought a second ZT to keep as new to hand down a generation incase they discontinue them 😂
I am the opposite, I hate to have a bunch of crap in my pockets. If I can keep it on my beltline, I will, and Leatherman has made that easy by providing a belt sheath.
Another two video ideas one 20$ dollar store EDC that you have to use for 24 hours exclusively. Or a discord submited "most regreted EDC purchase and why"
You done great I like all of it nice leather only edc I dont have with a clip I'm wanting one with a clip I got a Coast edc love it but I lost broke the clip bummer I like my clips but I still keep it in my pocket I also try to go for quality and each one of my carrys to be as light as possible
Love your videos, found some great suggestions. Any experience with the Petrified Fish PF868 Bunta? Just picked one up and seems solid, and came wicked sharp out of the box. Under 50.00.
Wow what a great little kit from bass pro! Question is do they have the leatherman ratchet for everyone who’s been waiting forever…somehow it seems me and you are the last ones who got it before they went out of stock.
Why carry a premium folding knife and a multi tool? I understand why having a knife separate from the multi tool but I carry a fixed blade instead of another folder. A folder and a multi tool is too redundant for me
How about finding all Small Instagram Companies (by small I mean they are not major main stream companies and have under 200k followers) put a budget of $1,000. And in this EDC get everything you have here plus 3 wild card items. You could take a poll one what they could be but in thinking like a Pry Bar, a Utility Knife, a Pen.
So what's the ladybugs name? You can't be letting your pets hang out and not tell us it's name... every day carry beetle? Edc ladybird... All jokes aside, love your content! You made Christmas shopping easy in 2023
You should try your local pawn shop and see if you can find the best damn edc there
That's a great idea 💡 might take a couple of shops to round out a complete set up

What does EDC stand for
Love my Curl wear it everyday.
Nice hat!! Where can I buy?
I've seen write in the rain pens and note pads at Bass Pro.
Is that curly or curve.. had a curve.. not heard of curl
Wow what a great little kit from bass pro! Question is do they have the leatherman ratchet for everyone who’s been waiting forever…somehow it seems me and you are the last ones who got it before they went out of stock.
The Bass Pro in Irvine, CA has a Leatherman Arc 😂
I'm surprised they didn't have something like the rite in the rain pens and notebooks. Waterproof stuff is good on a fishing boat.
Looked all over and couldn't find anything
Why carry a premium folding knife and a multi tool? I understand why having a knife separate from the multi tool but I carry a fixed blade instead of another folder. A folder and a multi tool is too redundant for me
Nice watch! 😉 Thanks for the shoutout!
You bet! Thanks for making sick watches!

And in this EDC get everything you have here plus 3 wild card items. You could take a poll one what they could be but in thinking like a Pry Bar, a Utility Knife, a Pen.
I’m relatively new to the channel… was that the Bass Pro at Concord Mills Mall?
Yes
