that rope doesn;t form a nice U shape when coming down, so i can't jump over it, it always swipes off=centre .. how do you make sure it's in the right place to clear beneath the jumping foot?
Most of the time that means one hand is turning stronger than the other. Try to get both hands flicking the rope with the same strength so that it straightens out. If it's always going wide, try turning stronger with one hand to speed up that side of the rope, if that doesn't fix it, try doing the same with the other hand. Hope that helps.
That's usually caused by coming out of the cross too early. Wait for the rope to pass your foot before bringing your arms out. The toad and crougar are a lot more forgiving about when you can come out of the cross. Wait for it to be almost uncomfortably late and see how that works for you.
