There is no translation for Bückstabü. It is an articial word, invented by Rammstein
It was once mentioned in an interview, that „Bückstabü“ can stand for everything you want. It is a desire of yours…like a little weakness…chocolate for example. Everything in your head says no…but you still have to reach for it. The PS5 controller, when you actually have to study math. The phone to call in sick, when you really really don’t want to work.
I think Bückstabü stands for everything you maybe want and desires but probably shouldn't do, it's a placeholder.
I cannot do this song in a Try-Not-To-Headbang-Challenge. Every time I hear this song I find myself headbanging🤘
I hope I can help you. Bückstabü is a neologism invented by Till Lindemann and was first used on the 2009 CD “Love is for everyone there” by the German-singing band Rammstein.
On the one hand, the author himself explains the word as a representative of “whatever you want”, but in interviews he also describes it as a synonym for terms such as addiction, unbridled urges and limitless desire.

Bückstabü is a word that does not exist in any language, that cannot be described, is the mystery, the energy, the seducer, the demon that drives you to defy everything that your mind, your experience, your survival strategies or social rules dictate.

Hello to my favorite RAMMSTEIN reactors!! The song in itself musically is joyously heavy.This whole concert is incredible and is what got me into the band in 2020 after a 23-24 year break( didn't hear or see them anywhere in the U.S. other than Du Hast...thanks again!!

To me this song is about the voice in your head telling you to do something you shouldn't do but you can't control it and it takes over. So its that struggle and feeling. The word Buckstabu itself is made up I believe but it is also censored after the B. So its like the profanity in a comic when you see random symbols for a bad word, so again something you shouldn'tsay or do. The lyrics are mostly on the side of sexual urges. So nothing out of the ordinary for Rammstein lyrics

According to a statement by Richard Z. Kruspe, "Bückstabü" means "whatever you want. Furthermore, it was mentioned in an interview that Bückstabü is a synonym for desire, addiction and unbridled urges. In Till Lindemann's poetry work "Messer" there is a poem called "Nele" with similar lines.

Like many said the word itself was made up by Till, but for me the first time i heard it in the LIFAD cd it felt like "back-stab" so i associated it to someone holding back his hurge to kill someone close to him (or someone he profoundly hated but could't take that step for some reason).
This is one of the few song by Rammstein that i like more in the original studio version than the live version (the other being Puppe, Till's voice in that one.....chills)
In any case, it's always a pleasure to see your reactions to Rammstein!
Not a huge fan of this one except that I am fascinated by Till's ability to growl like this. This one is definitely one of the heaviest Rammstein songs and I completely get why it is too much for you.
Btw, as far as I know, Bückstabü is a word invented by Rammstein and it surely has a meaning which German speakers might explain to both you and me. I think it might be a mix of different words, but I really don't know.
Btw, I hate when I say that I don't know something related to Rammstein but no one can know everything, I guess, and Rammstein is very complex and often confusing band so, I am trying not to feel too bad. 😄
