Une merveille... Très beau souvenir de notre soirée passée en leur compagnie au Pavillon Grignan à Istres..!! The Dire Straits Experience ..Au départ, The Straits était un projet monté par trois ex-Dire Straits pour donner vie à leur ancien répertoire. Mais aujourd’hui, seul Chris White, flûte traversière, saxos alto, soprano et Ténor ainsi que percussionniste du groupe entre 1985 et 1992, est toujours à bord, accompagné de six autres musiciens dont le guitariste et chanteur ,Terence Reis. Ici, on prend le moins de liberté possible avec l’œuvre, on chante dans la même tonalité, le répertoire est fascinant et quant à l'ambiance, inutile de vous dire qu'elle est au rendez-vous et quel bonheur pour nos oreilles !!!!
I was born in 95, my dad loves Dire Straits and so do I. It was sad to know i would never share a concert of them with my dad. Now i know there is Dire strait experience doing good reproductions, we can hear DS through them wich makes me happy, as if the original band is still there through them, doing a great job for our ears
Quel super groupe, ils sont vraiment tous geniaux, Chris white est vraiment magistral, Terrence Reiss est un guitariste genialissime qui maîtrise à merveille le finger picking, et ce n'est pas la chose la plus aisée de jouer à la Mark knopfler. Il est vrai que que c'est Mark Knopfler le véritable génie créateur, mais Terrence, qui a une superbe voix, lui rend bien hommage. Je les ai vu au zénith de Clermont Ferrand le 17 mars 2022,ce fût un concert fantastique, qui avec la jeune fille qui a fait un guitare voix en première partie, à duré plus de 4 heures. Du coup je retourne les voir à L'Olympia à Paris le 21 novembre. Et même si ce n'est pas Mark Knopfler, qui est pourtant mon guitariste rock préféré avec David Gilmour, je m'en tape, car quelles sont les chances de revoir Mark Knopfler, qui a officiellement pris sa retraite me semble t-il,? Et bien je pense que les chances de revoir Mark un jour sont égales à zéro. Nous allons passer une très bonne soirée, et c'est ce qui compte, Merci à vous tous, membres de thé dire straits experience. 🙏🙏🙏🤩🤩
I watched/listened them live 2 times and both time it was FANTASTIC, the experience I will always have in my heart! I listen Dire Straits many years now, also Mark as solo, and I am really happy I had an opportunity to listen Dire Straits Experience live! Terence is great, both as singer and a guitarist! I will come to listen to you guys every time I have a chance :) thank you for playing DS live :)

Magnifique, voilà qui me rappelle leur superbe concert qui eut lieu en 2019, lors des festivités d'Istres au Pavillon Grignan !! Un vrai bonheur où les "Nuits" ont ovationné Chris White et sa bande !!

For someone who knows dire straits i think it was at least decent and very close to the spirit of their music! I am a fun for more than 30 years and i really respect the huge effort to get close and the amount of work done here!Sometimes his voice reminded me of knopfler which is a good thing, and sometimes not, which is not nessecarily a bad thing also...The reason is we re not looking for a copyright here, but for dire straits experience, and it was a good one!

@@38Laurent Toi tu as la passion du son et de l'image, et ça doit être très compliqué à faire, et à faire bien, comme tu le fais. En plus je suppose que tu n'as pas non plus le budget illimité pour avoir tout ce dont tu aurais besoin pour pouvoir faire ce que tu veux. Mais en tout cas c'est une belle passion qui permet de partager avec nous autres fans de tous ces groupes, de voyager dans des concerts où l'on ne peut pas toujours aller, faut d'argent et de temps , et c'est vraiment bien. Merci à toi, continue comme ça et longue vie à tous ces titres qui nous ont fait, et nous font encore vibrer. Et un petit big up pour So Floyd qui débute les tournées de tribute to Pink Floyd,. I saw an earlier gestation of this band, with Alan Clark, in Bristol in 2011 and I think they were fabulous then just as they are in this video. Terence Reis is probably about the best exponent among the many Mark Knopfler tribute artists that are available, which is why he gets to play with very high standard musicians, among whom are former members of Dire Straits. I say good luck to him, and to them, for keeping this wonderful music alive. x

Great band in their own right. A load of jealous numptys commenting that Terrace doesn't sound like Mark, well guess what, that's because he isn't Mark. All I will say is the mix is a bit iffy and that Terrace's mic is clipping a bit. World class musicians.
This is really great down to the switches on the Strat copy instead of 5 way slide switch and the annoying Sax playing over the Lead guitar!! ; just like the real thing!! Dead on and many say he thinks he is Knofler, but to have this level of realism, he has to live the part and his finger picking and mannerisms must seem real and authentic and all the sound the same...
Decent imitation, but couldn’t watch this or pay to watch them, not for me, would rather listen to the straits in the comfort of my own home, the real deal having a beer.

Been listening to the Straits since 77. Fortunate enough to see them live 6 times ( + MK solo twice ). Since they are trying to sound like DS and not adding any of their own flavour....i give them a C-. Too much dead air, vocals are a strech ( which is really important in DS music ), sax playing over lead, tempo just........off. Nice try.....sorry guys, keep working or try Paul Revere and the Raiders.
I get the negative comments here. This sounds terrible, this poor quality should have never been uploaded. I’ve seen them live last year in Zurich and it was amazing. This sounds like torturing a cat.
The solo from 3:13 illustrates very clearly how Terence Reis is nowhere near Mark Knopfler's level. Nowhere, not even close. Reis's playing is very sloppy and he plays far too many notes. MK plays with emotion and tells a story with his note choices and phrasing on the guitar, this guy doesn't he just plays lots of useless notes that don't always sound good. In this case there is no melody and that is part of Mark's genius. The first TR solo as played by MK is simply fantastic but this guy butchers it badly. Very poor imitation band.
Hello, why do you say that? Because he perfectly masters Finger Picking? At the same time this group is called "the dire straits experience" so we can't really blame them for their way of moving, or even their voice which sounds great Dire Straits. He knows very well that the Genie is Mark. I saw them once, and soon it will be the second time, and after 5 minutes I stopped thinking about Mark Knopfler, who is nevertheless one of my favorite guitarists.
I watched them yesterday in Enschede (Netherlands) and "this guy" (I suppose you mean Terence Reis) is super humble when Chris White introduces him. I hate it when people assume things about others based on no information at all.

Chris White himself said that that cover band don't have the pretention to replace Mark Knopfler's band, he has a great respect of Mark Knopfler who he worked with for many years. The story is that : After reforming the band for a charity show, Chris White and the cover band were requested to play again and again. Then they decided to make Dire Straits music live again for they own pleasure and the public's one. And it's a fucking good idea cause Terence REis, the vocalist and guitar player, is so brillant !!! and as you said "and after 5 minutes I stopped thinking about Mark Knopfler, who is nevertheless one of my favorite guitarist". Dire Straits were active during 1977 - 1988 and 1990 - 1995 acording to the wikipedia. This is a cover band with Chris White, a saxophonist who toured with them from 1985-1995. Why the thumbs down? Because you don't like the cover band? Easy, go watch some videos of the original band playing live, there are prenty on youtube.Anyway haters gonna hate.

The solo from 3:13 illustrates very clearly how Terence Reis is nowhere near Mark Knopfler's level. Nowhere, not even close. Reis's playing is very sloppy and he plays far too many notes. MK plays with emotion and tells a story with his note choices and phrasing on the guitar, this guy doesn't he just plays lots of useless notes that don't always sound good. In this case there is no melody and that is part of Mark's genius. The first TR solo as played by MK is simply fantastic but this guy butchers it badly. Very poor imitation band.

Hello, why do you say that? Because he perfectly masters Finger Picking? At the same time this group is called "the dire straits experience" so we can't really blame them for their way of moving, or even their voice which sounds great Dire Straits. He knows very well that the Genie is Mark. I saw them once, and soon it will be the second time, and after 5 minutes I stopped thinking about Mark Knopfler, who is nevertheless one of my favorite guitarists.
I watched them yesterday in Enschede (Netherlands) and "this guy" (I suppose you mean Terence Reis) is super humble when Chris White introduces him. I hate it when people assume things about others based on no information at all.

Chris White himself said that that cover band don't have the pretention to replace Mark Knopfler's band, he has a great respect of Mark Knopfler who he worked with for many years. The story is that : After reforming the band for a charity show, Chris White and the cover band were requested to play again and again. Then they decided to make Dire Straits music live again for they own pleasure and the public's one. And it's a fucking good idea cause Terence REis, the vocalist and guitar player, is so brillant !!! and as you said "and after 5 minutes I stopped thinking about Mark Knopfler, who is nevertheless one of my favorite guitarist". @@Jazz-lover I saw dire straits for the second time in Paris, at "Olympia" two weeks ago the 22 November of 2023, and once again, it was great, exceptional.... I just bought my ticket for 14 thof November 2024 in zenith of Clermont Ferrand, in France. Yes I'm a French guy, and I love Dire straits, Pink Floyd and many englishe's band of rock roll, psychedelic rock.... So, excuse me for my orthographic, and big up for Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler, Chris White, Terrence Reise... 🎸🤘⭐⭐⭐

Je suis une vraie FAn de Mark Knopfler et à défaut de pouvoir le voir sur scène, je n'ai pas hésité à prendre un billet pour aller voir le groupe reformé et franchement j'ai trippé, ils sont absolument formidable. Et meme si Mark Knopfler n'est pas là, ça m'a "réchauffé le coeur" d'entendre le saxo de Chris White, et j'étais scotchée par la performance de Terence REis; Ils sont tellement legitime pour faire perdurer la musique de Dire sTraits. - Nadia :)

Dire Straits were active during 1977 - 1988 and 1990 - 1995 acording to the wikipedia. This is a cover band with Chris White, a saxophonist who toured with them from 1985-1995. Why the thumbs down? Because you don't like the cover band? Easy, go watch some videos of the original band playing live, there are prenty on youtube.Anyway haters gonna hate.
