- It's opening day of halibut season but the halibut didn't get the memo. No problem as plan B for lingcod & rockfish worked out great with several double & triple hookups with Anytime Charters out of Garibaldi, OR.

Such an awesome charter. I was just in Garibaldi last weekend all the way from eastern Wa and I wish I would of found you guys. I was really wanting to catch my first Ling
A boatload of Ling and a few fat Canary? Yeah, wouldn't complain about that! Need to head down to Bandon this Summer....
Once the eyes blow out on your Yellow Eye or other rockfish they're done. The fish sustain massive internal injuries when their bladders expand. The volume of the gas in their bladder doubles from 30 ft to the surface....that's what finishes them off.

@@AnglerWestTV The camera man was nice enough to clearly show the coordinates on that TV of a sonar 🤣Several of us already copied them into ours! As good of a try it was for the captain to mislead people by calling it the chicken ranch ;)

Exactly! Screw all those folks with disabilities or who aren't in good enough shape to reel in 800 feet of fighting fish! Keep all those folks off the water. / sarcasm

how come they threw away the first yellow eye but had one in the hatch with the ling cod after ? :O
Never would use an electric reel
Using electric reels somehow detracts from fishing. We used to call lings "lawyer fish." They're flat headed, ugly, mouth full of sharp teeth, and greedy. Perfect lawyer fish.

I couldn't finish watching. Electric reels seems great for inexperienced fisherman, but whining sound doesn't make for good video.
Thank you for posting a very educative video. But your charter boat is fishing illegally .....check your hooks set up is not legal, offshore longleader hooks set up requirements please follow the rules give good samples "ths
It's only long leader fishing part time the rest of time it's open. Open up a rulebook..
Open all Depths January 1st through May 31st. And September 1st through December 31st....odfw...
All depth days so no need LL gear. Just a regular bottom set up is good.
