Yes she’s wearing a dress similar to the one described in her song. Beautiful and talented Bobbie! Such a musical and fashion icon of the 1960s/early 1970s!
This is the way I've always wanted to see her singing this song. Her style and dress is so in sync with the song, and oh what a woman! Thank you for sharing!
A true artist and song writer, producer beauty thanks for posting this classic gem ! No one can or ever will sing this like Miss Gentry ❤ a great big hug for you posting this and to Miss Gentry where ever she is from Sangre De Christo,New Mexico U.S.A. 👀💯👍🎭🥂
Funny to see this comment - I rescued a dog today at and had to bring her to the shelter. I can’t stop thinking about her and how I found her running around malnourished and lost fur…. She was scooting around a high end part of town …. I’ve been listening to this album a lot lately so I immediately thought of this song when I found her. The song has been on repeat in my head all day with the vision of her running down the sidewalk all scraggly in this fancy neighborhood. I hope no one claims her since she was in rough shape, I have first rights to adopt after 7 days at the shelter… If I get to adopt her I’ll name her Fancy too :,)
Why was there that huge jump in wardrobe at 0.52? Anyone? Also, can anyone shed light on the back-up musicians here? Or where this was shot? Any info would be appreciated. Many Thanks!
Love the growl on "Mama washed and combed and curled my har..." Go girl!
I saw her show at the Aladdin Hotel in Vegas, she was amazing.

Maybe the dress she wore on the album cover
Incredibly beautiful incredibly talented
She is breathtaking to watch.
Very hot in 1970!
She had great class (even in red tight dress) and sweet broken voice
MS GENTRY----- ALL RESPECT!!!
I like this performance more than her other videos of the song. Thank you. I wish it were color.
Crikey! She still got it.
There is an audible gasp from the audience!

I really hope everything turned out well for that lil innocent doggie. Good karma & all the best to you-
Me too!!
The audio and video aren't good, but I like this rendition so much better than those in which she lip-synched.
Who’s watching 2024
I love the sixties moves she gives
Im in love
The wheels of fate started to turn!
I love this! Just curious though, where is the footage from?
Bobbie Gentry (TV Series 1968-1971)?
From the KCOP logo, looks as if this was syndicated in America.
Better than Reba
Ahead of her time

Bobbie's British TV show, I think.
