I came across this channel when I was in HS. I always thought Dr wolfula was some older creature but after just watching the making Dr wolfula doc. , turns out u were 16 when u started posting vids on YT. That crazy lol, I think that it's awesome that you've kept the channel up.
Dr Loomis pretending to be a creepy disembodied voice is a good laugh. It scares the kids and is totally the kind of harmless (and helpful) prank an adult would pull on a kid .
@@EvilDick1995 do you ever think there will be a point in your life when you stop giving a shit whether or not things are "cringy" or do you think you'll die this way?
I love the moment in the every end when Laurie realises that Michael is still alive. That moment when she starts to cry realising that she is still in danger. It is sooo damn sad and scary which makes it beyond effective.
I’m a huge huge fan of another TH-cam reviewer named Decker shado, he’s usually very Meticulous and intelligent with his reviews. He did this series last year and said that halloween was boring and Michael Myers wasn’t intimidating, and said the acting was poor and honestly he really dropped the ball in my opinion. But where he drops the ball you knock it right out the park dr wolfula, you nail everything that makes Halloween so special, the atmosphere, the moody lighting, the way Michael walks, you hit it all and really encapsulate why Halloween is a movie still worth watching today. I usually enjoy you for your snarky reviews but when a movie like Halloween or texas chainsaw deserves more you never fail to deliver and explain why.
28:26 "Michael just wanted a hug the whole time." Holy shit, I lost it! I remember watching it on VHS and rewinding the ending over and over. Between the shot of Micheal's body being gone, the theme music being cued up, Loomis' reaction, Laurie crying, the shots of previous locations, and Michael's heavy breathing....it all came together beautifully and gave me chills. Had no other sequels been made, I believe the ending would be even more highly regarded than it already is. But almost a dozen sequels and decades of the cliché that the killer isn't dead at the end have taken some of the oomph away.
I agree with you about the ending of the original. It would've been a much more powerful and creepy ending if they never made any sequels. Although I do enjoy the sequels.
Fun Fact: The song Jamie Lee Curtis sings while she walks away from Michael was improvised. Carpenter just told her to make up something and sing it on the spot. Happy Halloween! 🎃
Don't make excuses for the growth of your channel. This channel fills the slot in our heart where Joe Bob Briggs and Elvira go. Keep Rockin in and WE LOVE YOU! Dr. Wolfula is Horror Hosting for Gen Z and Beyond!

Man I’d love to get in depth reviews like this more often! I’m sure you’re crunched for time, but I’ve been a big fan for years. Always looking forward to your next review!
I remember watching your videos in high school. No one in my small town loved horror films or the 80s slasher franchises, so you kept me entertained. So glad you’re revisiting the series. Happy 10th anniversary
Turns out the actor who played Laurie's father was Peter Griffith. His first wife was Tippi Hendren, star of Alfred Hitchcock films The Birds and Marnie. Their granddaughter went on to star in the most horrifying films of the 2010s, The 50 Shades of Grey trilogy.
The one thing that I feel like is always missing from these reviews of Halloween is the stare that Loomis gives at the end. He's not surprised. He's not dreading in fear. He knew this was going to happen. His facial expression is subtle yet powerful.
I remember your first review of Halloween III Season of the Witch. The first AHHHctober review, nine years ago. Good times, and I look forward to your updated version.
I like how this movie (and the sequel) doesn’t really dive into any of the protagonists’ backstory, notwithstanding the reveal at the end of Halloween 2. More than any other one of these it feels like it’s really a day in the life of some normal people who are interrupted by this horror. You know all you need to know just from these characters interacting and going through their life like usual before Michael catches them. Even halloween 4, which is good in it’s own way, spends a lot of effort fleshing out the characters who Michael Myers will stalk and with it so heavily tied into the backstory of Michael Myers from the get go, it makes it standout less from the crowd of slashers like this film.
The only scene they should have done differently is when Jamie finds her friend's bodies. The closet door opening by itself and the body falling took it out of reality. Other than that a perfect film. Halloween 1978 and The Exorcist are my favorite horror films.
Welcome aboard , my dude . I’ve been a fan of his for YEARS . I still binge watch his videos from time to time especially during the fall and winter . So relaxing to watch .
I always end my October Halloween month with John Carpenter's Halloween every year! I love this film so much! It's one of those films where I know every piece of dialogue and scene by scene! This film NEVER gets old! I NEVER get tired of it! Great review man! Also, thank you so much for talking about the behind the scenes and how the film came to be! Even mentioning Black Christmas that (sort of) inspired John to create the film too. Looking forward to the other videos of Ahhctober!
You know that song where she says, I wish I had you all alone just the two of us you know who that song was written to and sung to Ben tramer of course the Haddonfield heart throb. Everybody in the town was singing that song cause Ben was still walking the Earth at this point what a tragedy that was later this night to take the man down like that Haddonfield’s greatest hero.
The original Halloween is definitely a classic in my book! I watch it a few times before Halloween comes. I love this movie and it's one of my favorite horror flicks of all time. Great review Doc!
God, I fucking love this channel. Been watching since I was in 7th grade and I can say the videos have only gone up in quality since then. It’s really impressive to see how far this channel has come since I first started watching 6 years ago. Keep up the great, Doc. You always have my support.
Your original Halloween videos are some of my favourites (whether they be riffviews or the serious reviews), because it's my favourite horror franchise, as well. I also believe that your Halloween 3 riffview is your funniest video ever. Super excited to see the new versions now that you've really developed as a reviewer!
God, I'm so glad I stumbled onto this channel. You have such great content for a horror lover like me and so many others, and have created such a great horror host in Dr. Wolfula. I'm having a total blast going through all of your vids to catch up. You got a lifelong subscriber out of me Doc. Thanks for all the great content my hairy friend!
I loved your breakdown of the blue esthetic. As you know, most movies shoot during the day and use a blue filter to portray night and I never felt this movie took that cop out. The lighting of this movie is absolutely perfect.
I love the decision on the mask. It’s so simple but defined at the same time. You can tell he’s human but not at the same time. Perfect decision by production
Carpenter homaged Leigh Brackett by naming the Sheriff after her because he was a fan of the western movies she wrote. She was also a highly regarded SF/fantasy writer who mentored a young Ray Bradbury.
Genuinely a great review and actually watched your first review on Halloween fairly recently as it really provided such great insight as to why I hated the Rob Zombie version! Happy Ahhhctober!!
It's crazy you brought up Kitty Genovese because I just looked into that recently but I think nobody answered her because its Halloween and her neighbors probably thought it was a prank by a immature teenager.
This review was amazing Doc! I’ve been watching this channel since 2015, and it’s funny to see that we’re already on the tenth aahctober! Hope these videos keep coming for years to come, and good luck Doc on your videos!

PS I realize someone could say, "what more could be said about it that hasn't already been said"? Well, plenty. Its cinematography alone could be talked about for a few hours.
