    I'll be lost as a coach without you, Rory. Thank you, as always 🙏🏿. I'm starting a 7 a side soon

    Just went through your 9v9 playlist as this is my first year that I will be coaching a U12 9x9 team after a couple years coaching 7v7. I utilized the your recommended 2-3-1formation while coaching the 7v7 team and always had the build out philosophy in the back of my mind, though we had less control over agenda covered during practices so really couldn't execute on introducing build out patterns as much as I had planned. Now in U12, I'm planning to use the 4-3-1 formation and with two practices a week - one led by a trainer, and one led by the coaches - I'm hoping to be able to start utilizing these build out patterns slowly in those coach-led sessions.
    Thanks again for being such a great resource, your content has been invaluable! 👍

    But how did you know?!? 😂😂 We only get last week and this week to practice before games this weekend, and most of the team just made this transition. I appreciate ya, Coach!

    I'm a starting coach under 12 team from the netherlands, and your videos are helping a lot! All well explained in clear manner. In the Netherlands we play 8 vs 8 in the under 11 and 12 teams, so a little adaptation from your videos.
    Thanks and keep going please, this helps me starting up a lot!

      @@CoachRorySoccer Coach what's your thought on building out through 4-3-1, transition to 2-3-3 in final third w/triangle midfield (8,10, 6), and pressing in a 3-2-3 (drop 6 between CBs)?

    Hi. would you concider going over techniques on how to introduce kids to headers and slides? Since in U12 this will be allowed over here where Im from, not sure if thats the case every where else.

    • @CoachRorySoccer
      @CoachRorySoccer  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes. Great idea. I actually use specific balls to introduce headers. They’re just lighter basically. Slides are an interesting concept. Not sure I’ve thought a lot about that. Thanks for the idea.

    Nice job as always coach. Looking to do a 9v9 to a 11 v11?

    • @CoachRorySoccer
      @CoachRorySoccer  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes for sure. One of the challenges is how hard it is to do a generalized video when so much of how you set up is related to the individual players.
      So for example in a perfect world I prefer to go 231 to 431 to 433. But it all depends on your player pool.

      @@CoachRorySoccer Agreed. We moved from a 3421 to a 433. We beat the B team so happy for my boys.

    I like this system transition from 2-3-1 to 4-3-1 but in my case I have more forward players then defensive players, which makes it difficult for choosing 4-3-1 lineup, so for that I have opted for 3-4-1 with 3 defenders and 2 forward wings.
    Thank you.

    • @CoachRorySoccer
      @CoachRorySoccer  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah as long as you’re consistent the specific system is less important than tailoring it to your players.

      I went with 2-3-1 in U9 & moved to a 3-1-3-1 last season U11 with the 2 best attackers playing CF & CAM. Worked well for the group, achieved undefeated season w/26 GF 13 GA in 8 games. Starting CF top scorer with 16 goals & was actually U9 player that moved up division early.

      @@arturenobel8310 for the team i had, we typically put the best players in central roles. Center forward & center attacking midfielder were the most skilled & would interchange roles. The center back was the strongest defender & would also take free kicks, corners, & throw ins due to size/strength/power.
      Really depends on strengths of team. Past season i had a lot of skilled players, but we also were skewed young.
      U11 was 2013s, but i only had 6. Also had 7 2014s & 6 2015s playing up. Unless very skilled, we avoided having an imbalance of younger/smaller players forming the triangles of the formation.

      8v8 is a odd one. Yeah you could go 331 just have to coach shape with vs without the ball. Which can be tough for younger players.
