Since i watch you i bought : -akm (wood stock) by e&l, -Xm177 by Classic army - m14 veteran g&g (with top rail, can be use Also for mid 2000 loadout) Always love this channel, Keep doing this milsim type of video. greetings from italy🇮🇹.
Yes boys!!! Good to see you two representing again. Have to say I'm tempted by a FAL, but would prefer an SLR version. Carry handle AR is on the cards, maybe a cheapy Cyma to keep my bog standard, yet solid Cyma AK47 company, and I do love a Lee Enfield but would never skirmish it. As for Gadge's question, toss up between my TM HK416 in a DEVGRU set-up, or MWS, which is currently in MK16 flavour.
I know Bundeswehr airsoft isn't super popular, but I was so glad when northeast revealed their Uzi was an MP2. Adopted in 1959, officially replaced by the mp7 in 2002 but still used, it fits almost the entire history of the Bundeswehr. Then grab a g3a3 and you're good from 62 on up. For American kits, it's hard to beat a garand or an M2 carbine. Garand is good for WWII, M2 for the last days of WWII, and both saw service up into Vietnam, and even later for nat guard units
Show my age here, the A-Team used Ruger mini-14s. They decided they couldn't use M16s as that was for the US military chasing them, and the producers didn't want the stars mixed up with the military. They also had the issue that though the M16 normally was considered a 'good guy' gun, the US military were bad guys in the series. They couldn't use AKs for the A-Team as they are 'bad guy' guns, so they went for a sort of middle gun, leaving the AKs for the bad bad guys.
@@crewgadjy I don't remember that, but then my memory is rather bad. I could see them dropping in the odd different thing though occasionally, to keep things interesting. Maybe one day I'll watch them all again. But I'm generally disappointed by teenage me's taste in TV sometimes.
I pretty much agree with those top 3 picks. I'd cheat a little and say XM177 and a spare flat top receiver and ris rail to build a mk18 that way it covers from Vietnam to present day, AKMS for the reasons you stated and an M1A1 Thompson for WW2 to Vietnam on either side as issue or captured weapons.
So, does this mean you're back????!!!! GOD I hope so!! I love these type of videos you guys do. They are so helpful to me as you always have great ref pictures to support what you're talking about. Just last night I was talking with the guys on my team about how we always do kits based around AR platform guns and its getting a bit boring. Though our last kits were fun 2011 US Marine Raiders. I now have so much M81, Khaki or Coyote Brown Eagle Industry mag pouches, canteen pouches, Radio pouches, a RRV, MBAV and other stuff from that time period to make that kit happen. But the base gun luckily was early MK18s so I didn't have to worry about that (though technically mine is a CQBR as its the slightly shorter version, but still a DD quad rail...). But that was fun to do for CopperHead 6 down in Playas, NM earlier this year and we had a full two squads of 14 players each with this loadout on. It was a really cool game! But what I was talking about doing was a SAS loudout based around an 80's era MP5s and the events of April and May 1980, Operation Nimrod. If you guys could do a video on that loadout and where to get some of that stuff, I think that would be an Amazing video! A lot of the images from then are of poor quality and hard to see clearly. And where to get the bracket to hold the huge flashlight on top of the MP5A5? But in all sincerity, I do hope you continue this channel. I love the content!
It’s basically impossible to do an authentic Op. Nimrod loadout. The kit is either non existent, incredibly expensive and/or was custom built for them. It also changed on almost a weekly basis as they developed tactics and methods.
The rif I've had the most use out of was the 1st one I got as soon as I got my UKARA in 2017. A JG M16a1 I got for Nam games. Never had a problem with it. A serviceable rif for less than £150.
Great to see you guys both back! I only got into Airsoft just over a year ago, but I love old school stuff (i'm a petrol head into classic cars and bikes) which seems to of influenced my choice of primary which is an E & L AK74N (with the side optic rail), with the full wood stock etc. I love it.
My favourite the E&C Xm177 without forward assist. So that is GAU-5 series, first AR in US service (predates XM16) and still in service. Plus it’s a “smg” in 5.56. 😉 I do need to miss stamp the fire selector with BRUST to make it look more CCT issue.
Just bought my first rifle, j.g. G3.A3. I'm an old dog, so need a weapon to suit my Era. It stands out in a field of same old M4s. Covered in unnecessary clutter👍
Growing up during the 80s I have always had a soft spot for what are now all those classic rifles from the 60s-90s. As you guys say, over the whole GWOT era, if the gun wasn't festooned with RIS rails nobody wanted them, so they stopped being produced, which consequently meant that my collection drifted in that direction too. Being a GBB only type of person (It's silly, but I just can't with AEGs), pickings have traditionally been even more slim. So the last few years with the resurgence in interest in all the retro gear has been great (and costly) for me, as I slowly offload a lot of more modern things for the classics (like my G3, M16A1/M203 etc etc ... picking up my VFC FAL this week). I'm hoping to get some people interested locally in some kind of retro looking affair. Probably a 1960s-1980s 'brushfire wars' look, as here in New Zealand it is a lot harder to get older webgear and uniforms as not much of it ever got here being as we are at the bottom of the world, so somewhat uniform with a bit more latitude. Long story short, I'm really glad you guys are shining a light on these more slightly niche, but fun and different guns and gear. As it makes it a bit easier to get others interested, when there is an easy and enthusiastic ressoruce to point people at. Well done guys. :)
Loving the content. I’m intrigued now what that M16A2 has been used in! I must admit, I’ve never had any interest in playing historical airsoft, but I’ll watch you two talk about it all day long.
Clearly my AKMS is by far my most useful replica for a whole host of Russian kits, If your doing Russian stuff an AKMS and a AKS74 or AK74M will cover just about everything. For something different, The Cybergun FAMAS F1 Evo is a fantastic gun for under £200, performs well out of the box and allows any French kit from the 70's to the late twenty teens, really very versatile.
@@SuperEvilMonkee Yeah, to be honest I suspected that was the case. Thing is, everywhere's already out of stock already anyway, so I might as well be patient and stick with Frontline. They're not a scam company, and a VFC FAL will eventually be delivered to me; as far as I'm concerned, that's good enough. I can wait.

@@russellmay7347 Honestly, the Rhodesian Bush War is pretty much new to me. Or in its latest, and current, iteration the AK4d. Spuhr furniture, welded rails for optics, bigger trigger guard for winter warfare, and a few other quality of life fixes.

Used my VFC FAL this weekend at around 10C - shot lasers. Rapidly becoming my favourite GBBR, and I have a few!
The most retro gun I have is an AGM MP40. Obviously good for WW2 stuff or possibly early MACV SOG.
